Lipstick -Wet 'n' Wild - MegaShield Lip Color SPF15 - Within These Adobe Walls (372S)
rated 2 of 5

First let me mention this is my first impression of this product and my thoughts may change but I will update if they do. I was so excited to try this out after hearing YouTube guru Shaaanxo mention this color in a video of favorite Wet 'n' Wild lip colors. I absolutely love the Wet 'n' Wild MegaLast lip colors so figured this would work just fine The color is sheer but buildable pale baby pink in a typical lipstick tube. Right after purchasing this I went to the mirror, popped it on and liked the color so I thought it was safe to run out and do errands for about an hour. NO BUENO! Within that hour to hour and a half I was out this lip color completely faded not only did it faded but it decided to leave a nasty white film around the inner part of my lips. I knew when purchasing this was not going to be the same as the MegaLast as they are intended to target different things but I had no idea the quality would be so different. I really believed the white film is from the SPF in this product but I cannot say 100% for sure. This might work for someone with dry lips which I normally have but the one time I tried this I had previously scrubbed my lips and moisturized them. Sadly I don't think this product will be something I will be reaching for or repurchasing (even in different colors/shades). There was about 2 other colors I wanted from this line and I believe I really dodged a bullet and didn't waste my money. Now if you are someone who this product happens to work for that is wonderful I wish I could say the same. Also for those whom this works for if you are thinking of buying this color and are iffy GO FOR IT. The color is pretty and I have no complaints there.

Blush -Hard Candy - Fox in a Box - Hot Flash
rated 5 of 5
amandatumpach 12/17/2012 10:41:00 PM

I have had this blush for forever now and I just recently fell back in love with it. I used this all the time back when hard candy first re-launched at Wal-mart. Than I started to cheat on this little guy when I found myself getting into higher end brands. Recently while going through my makeup stash I pulled this out and it's been my go to blush lately when I have a hard time deciding between shades. I really like to focusing my brush in the 3 lighter shades rather than the hot pink. Those 3 shades it makes a perfect flush on the cheeks almost natural looking (key word here is almost haha). This is a boxed powder similar to Benefits, I love the idea in mind with the packing but the designs on the packaging are a little tacky but this does not effect the packaging and it's ability to protect the product inside. This is powdery but what do you expect for the price you pay ($6)? Plus whenever I need to add more color to my cheeks I just dab my brush into that powdery/fall out that sits on the top of the product. Staying power is amazing for drugstore, I've worn this today since 1:30ish and it is now 9:40 and I still have a perfect flush of color. Also to mention I do have Oily skin! As of right now this is the only fox in a box blush I have but I will be purchasing more!

Highlighters -E.L.F. - Studio Blush in Gotta Glow
rated 4 of 5
amandatumpach 12/17/2012 10:33:00 PM

I received this bad boy in a swap which I was extremely excited about! I noticed on the eyeslipsface website they added new items and colors to existing items but had no luck finding any of em at my local target. This is similar to Nars Albatross which I also just got my hands on as of lately (from my generous bestie :). This is def no competition between the two because Nars is the better of the two but this is a great dupe! This is a yellow toned highlighter which I think compliments my pink undertone skin well. The packaging is nice and does what is intended - protects the product inside. On the down side this is powdery which is common in E.L.F. products. I don't mind with this being a cheap ($3). Also I feel in the transfer of the powder to the brush to my face it is not as nice as swatches I have seen. It takes about two layers to get the swatch color I was desiring. Even with this cons I don't think it is fair to deduct lippies because of the unbeatable price. Also knowing E.L.F. products myself I was not expecting Nars quality. I will probably repurchase this for the sole purpose of day to day use when I don't wanna waste my higher end makeup.

Eyeliner -Maybelline - Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner - Blackest Black
rated 4 of 5
amandatumpach 12/8/2012 12:02:00 PM

I always used liquid liner until I bought this. After hearing all the rave about gel liners like this and MAC fluidline I wanted to see what all the hype was about. I went for this because it was cheaper and easy to get. I believe I picked it up at my local Target or Ulta for about $8. For the price you pay you get the gel liner and a liner brush. The liner brush actually works good and was what I used to apply this..until I lost the brush. This applied just as pigmented and easy as my liquid liners. I didn't notice a huge difference until I wore this on a night on the town the staying power was amazing! After a long girls night I fell asleep in my makeup (eek I know) but when I woke up in the morning my liner was still on point! Unlike times with liquid or pencil liner when my wing will be smudged off or faded. The reason why I gave this a 4 lippie is because I recently got a MAC fluidline in Blacktrack which is a bit more creamy/smooth and you need less to get that color pay off you would with the Maybelline liner. Don't get me wrong this is still an amazing liner that I still love and use but for the extra 6 or so bucks you get a little bit of a better product. This is a great dupe or alternative though for those who don't wanna put out the extra money.

Styling Products -Suave - Professionals Touchable Finish Aerosol Hairspray - Lightweight Hold
rated 5 of 5
amandatumpach 11/30/2012 3:10:00 PM

I feel like Suave is really stepping up their game! I've been reaching for Suave products at the drugstore more and more lately. This being one of my newest purchases which I am pleased with. The smell is amazing and so are many of their newer formulated products that are more comparable to higher end haircare items! The hold isn't a stiff extra hold but this is stated that it is a light or lightweight hold so I'm not complaining. I don't feel this should effect any amount of lippies given if you've read the bottle you know what you bought as I did. I will admit I gravitated to this because it was a pink bottle. After spraying a little in the store I loved the smell and was sold there. I use this on my straight hair days to tame fly a ways. I wouldn't use this on a day I waved or curled my hair because with my stubborn to take hair this hairspray wouldn't hold up but hair would drop in no time. Fortunately for me I go straight more than anything else so I make good use out of this. Overall this product does as stated there was no false advertising or suggests made and I got what I expected out of this. Plus at the price (about $3) and the smell it's a good hair perfume if I don't find use for it's hold.

Makeup Brushes -E.L.F. - Studio Kabuki Face Brush
rated 5 of 5
amandatumpach 11/28/2012 9:29:00 PM

I think this is one of the BEST kabuki brushes (I can't decide between this and my Physicians formula flat top kabuki). Not only is it super affordable ($6) but it was easy to find since E.L.F products are sold at my local target. The bristles are dense enough that product isn't seeping into the middle and that wastes product (that's a no no in my book). Also the bristles are so soft. I literally have no complaints about this brush! I love it.

Toners -LUSH - Breath of Fresh Air
rated 3 of 5
amandatumpach 11/28/2012 5:32:00 PM

I needed a toner so I picked up this guy at my nearest Lush store and I don't regret getting it but on the other hand I'm not in ah. I love the packaging, the spray bottle eliminates the need for cotton balls or cotton pads. The smell is okay it is something to get use to because it's a different smell but not a bad smell. It is refreshing on the face like the name suggests "Breath of fresh air" - cute! The price is affordable compared to other high end skin care products. I believe it's $10 for the small bottle and I paid $20 for the larger size. I use this almost daily as a little wake me up before I prep and apply makeup. I had the same bottle I want to say since mid to late spring and I'm not even close to being empty so I know this is a product I will only repurchase maybe 2x a year! Overall this is not a miracle in a bottle but more of a little pick me up for the face. This is something I'd repurchase on the fact that it last a while and feelings good on the face.

Lip Gloss -Bonne Bell - Lip Lites in Strawberry Parfait
rated 5 of 5
amandatumpach 11/27/2012 3:43:00 PM

I really wanted to purchase Nars Turkish Delight that I heard everyone on YouTube raving about! It's a beautiful light milky pink color. Before I splurged the $24 on a lipgloss I decided to look into some dupes. I came across this bad boy and ah it was like love at first coat of gloss. I can't compare the two because I did decide to pass on the Nars after I tried this. I won't promise I won't ever get the Nars gloss because I am still tempted but for now I'm happy with the Bonne Bell Strawberry Parfait. As far as I can tell it has that same milky pink color which may or may not be an exact match to the Nars. It does look like it comes pretty darn close from what I've seen online and on YouTube. As far as the texture it is a gloss like stated it's not sticky or tacky but very smooth. I love the smell/taste because it's Strawberry my fav! I have no complaints about this product I'm super please to have found an affordable gloss with wonderful color payoff that is a dupe for a well known expensive HE gloss.

Concealers -Hard Candy - Nobody's Perfect concealer palette
rated 1 of 5
amandatumpach 11/27/2012 2:41:00 AM

This concealer STINKS! I wouldn't even put this up for swap because it's that bad and I don't see how this could work for anyone. I'm not bad mouthing Hard Candy at all! I love me some HC products like their Fox in a box powders/blushes, Baked blushes/bronzers and their discontinued tinted moisturizer :( but this is def a no no for my HC repurchases. Seeing as I actually love so many HC items I did have high hopes for this and sad to say I wish I could give this product 0 lippies but MUA forced me to give at least one. The the coverage of this is so sheer and light it won't cover anything! We wouldn't buy a concealer if we didn't want that extra coverage (rolls eyes). On top of it being sheer it's so greasy/oily that it slides all over and can't be built or melts away. The packaging and name was cute I give it that but all HC items are oober adorable. I wanted to love this when I bought it because it's not to often you can get a concealer palette at the drugstore...but now I know why! Wtih this I conclude my rant.

Liquid -BeneFit Cosmetics - "Hello Flawless!" Oxygen Wow
rated 5 of 5
amandatumpach 11/25/2012 2:40:00 PM

This product goes on very light weight and not much is needed to cover my entire face. I use one full pump than dot some on my cheeks, forehead, jaw and nose than blend out with a flat top brush. I also have tired using this with a Beauty blender sponge and this method works well too. This is not a full coverage foundation but can be built to a good medium coverage. This is a wonderful everyday foundation that won't make you look cakey. It gives a semi matte/dewy finish (if that makes sense). This foundation does have a slight fragrance to it but it's not over whelming or over powering it plus it is a pretty smell that I enjoy! This item is a little pricy but that's not a problem when your using so little product! Overall this is a new favorite in my foundation drawer.

Blush -Coastal Scents - Contour & Blush Palette
rated 5 of 5
amandatumpach 11/21/2012 3:47:00 PM

I think that for the price (a little under $20) this is a steal. It's 6 huge pans with 3 highlights, 1 bronzer/contour color and 2 blushes. What I think I love most about this product is everything is matte! It's hard to find anything matte lately so YAY for that. Also the blushes included are very wearable blushes. As for the contour color I can't say how I feel because mine broke(this wasn't CS or packaging fault) before I could try it out. From the bit that was still in the pan that I swatched the color was very pigmented. It seemed to be on the darker side but it's a contour what do you expect. I think overall this is an amazing product that I think I will forever repurchase.

Blush -MAC - Satin Blush - Fleur Power
rated 5 of 5
amandatumpach 11/21/2012 12:37:00 PM

This blush I believe is the perfect flush of color, great for an everyday blush. This is def a color I grab for when nothing else seems to go with my makeup that day or whatever the case. I would recommend this blush for anyone who is interested. I believe this would be suitable for any skin tone or shade because it can be used with a sheer/light hand for someone fair skinned (like myself) but it can be built up for someone who needs more color. As for package and price both are decent but I haven't found a drugstore dupe so I will be repurchasing this when needed.

Lipstick -Wet 'n' Wild - Mega Last Lipstick in Dollhouse Pink
rated 4 of 5
amandatumpach 11/16/2012 3:11:00 PM

I'm so glad I picked this up at my local Target. This is a very affordable lipstick, I picked this up for just under $2. It's the perfect Barbie pink with blue undertones (a color I've been searching for). Just like the other colors from their Mega last line they do what they claim to do..last! I have two complaints with this line one is the shades can be drying but if you maintain you lips with lip scrubs and/or balms this shouldn't be a problem. A quick fix though is just add a lip gloss, I like to top this with a lighter pink to tone down the brightness without losing the color all together. Complaint number two is the packaging, when first bought the tip of the lipstick sits above the tube so it can be nicked by the cap if not careful. These two cons don't turn me away from this product though because of its unbeatable price and color which as been said to be a dupe for MAC's St.Germain lipstick.

Lipstick -Rimmel - Moisture Renew - Nude Delight
rated 5 of 5
amandatumpach 11/16/2012 1:54:00 AM

I just purchased this item and I already know I'm going to love it. First I'm fair skinned and it is hard for me to find a drugstore nude lipstick that works for me. It is either too light which causes me to look sick/deathly or it is too dark than it is no longer a nude on me but more of a brown. This lipstick has a orange under tone to it which is why I think it works for me. It adds that little bit of color that lets the lipstick still be light enough to be a nude on me but be lively. As far as it being moisturizing like the name suggests I am unsure. It has a smooth creamy texture when applied and I like that in a lip product but if the results are long lasting I can't say just yet (will update when I know). Either way I will be repurchasing this lipstick just for its perfect shade plus for the price it's a bargain. I paid about $6 and it was worth every penny!
