Skincare - Face -Clarisonic - Acne Brush Head
amaizeingndn 1/5/2013 1:14:00 AM
This is my favorite brush head. I have large pores, very oily skin, and my skin's not really sensitive at all. On someone with drier or sensitive skin this is probably a bit much, but for me it's great, as long as I use a gentler cleanser (I use Cetaphil). If I use something with salicylic acid more than a couple times a week, this starts to dry out my skin. it's great at removing makeup- even just washing my skin once with this brush head and Cetaphil removes all my makeup, even when I wear Estee Lauder Double Wear or Revlon Colorstay foundations. The Normal and Sensitive brush heads don't do that for me.

Treatments -Elizabeth Arden - Eight Hour Cream
amaizeingndn 1/5/2013 1:08:00 AM
I hesitated to buy this because it seemed like a lot for what it is. And while it's not cheap, I do think it's worth it for what I bought it for. It's a very cold, dry winter where I'm at, and my cuticles are constantly splitting and tearing because they're so dry. I've tried all different kinds of lotion, cuticle oil, aquaphor, everything- and still nothing would help. So I finally tried 8 hour cream, and it is the only thing that works. I haven't tried it anywhere else, and the only other place I'd really consider trying it is my lips. However, after I put it on my nails it leaves behind kind of an oily residue, and I just can't imagine that won't clog my pores and lead to blemishes/bumps around my lips. Plus, I use Smith's Rosebud Salve on my lips and love that, so I'm not willing to risk it. So, if you have extremely dry cuticles, this will work miracles, and if that's important to you, than you will probably consider this worth it.

Mascara -Maybelline - The Falsies Flared Waterproof
amaizeingndn 1/5/2013 1:03:00 AM
I can't believe how much I love this mascara. I haven't worn drugstore mascara in a couple years, because I have the oiliest eyelids imaginable, and even waterproof formulas smudged everywhere on me. I have only used tubing mascaras since I discovered them, but I recently ran out and had heard Missglamorazzi on youtube rave about this, and since she also has oily lids, I thought I'd give it a shot. I cannot believe the volume this gives! It's really great. It's fine as far as lengthening goes, but I actually have really long lashes and only look for major volume in a mascara. I also never get clumps with this because the formula is really dry, which I prefer. It doesn't smudge or flake at all on me, and removes without taking my lashes with it. (I use CVS brand waterproof eyemakeup remover). I was using Eyeko skinny brush, but it didn't give as much volume as I like (b/c it's a lengthening mascara) and the mascara itself was a little wet for me, so I think this is going to become my new old faithful

Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - Color Icon Trio - Sweet as Candy
amaizeingndn 1/5/2013 12:57:00 AM
I got this on my lunch hour one day because I hadn't worn eye makeup to work and realized halfway through the morning that I looked like a corpse, which is not the look. So I grabbed this and just used my fingers to swipe some of the pink shade across my lid, the highlight on brow bones/inner corners, and the crease color on a sponge tip to line my eyes. it was a really nice subtle look. I love the crease color and use it the most, usually all over the lid. The other two are a little shimmery for me to wear on an everyday basis, but I think they are pretty legit dupes for MAC's shroom and naked lunch. The texture is incredibly smooth, almost like a cream, and they're very pigmented. I have crazy oily lids, but these actually held up really well, about 5 hours without a primer and very little creasing. These really are the best drugstore shadows.

Blush -MAC - Harmony
amaizeingndn 1/5/2013 12:52:00 AM
I debated getting this for a long time, because it looks so blah in the pan. I finally broke down and got it, and it is ridiculous how great it is. I have been looking for a blush that would provide definition and a little warmth, but not have any strong pink/peach/red. so basically, something to sculpt, but not as something that was as warm as a bronzer. Picky, I know, but Harmony is it. I wear it just like a blush and also run a little bit around my temples and jaw line. It's cool enough to look like a natural contour, but not so cool toned that it washes me out. I'm an NC30, btw.

Eye Shadow -NARS - Brousse Duo
amaizeingndn 9/16/2012 7:56:00 PM
This is my fourth of these duos. For me, Nars shadows are just the best for blending and their neutrals are awesome. I love the brown shade in this duo. It's a satin finish slightly cool toned medium brown color and I use it mostly as a liner with a small pencil brush. It provides just enough definition without screaming "EYELINER!!" it's also great all over the lid. The purple is a little too red/plum for me, but I do wear it as a liner. But if you're looking for a good plum color, I would recommend it.

Eye Shadow -NARS - Soft Touch Shadow Pencil in Tall Tale
amaizeingndn 9/16/2012 7:51:00 PM
love this purple shade. I don't like the red tone of plummy purples, and I've had a hard time finding a good purple color that's not too red or too blue. This is a great balance of both tones and is super creamy and blendable. I have only worn it with primer and topped with a powder shadow, so I can't say how it wears on its own, but with primer and shadow it doesn't move on me yet is still blendable. I bought this in a small size from Sephora for $10, and it was totally worth that.

Eye Primer -NARS - Pro-Prime Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base
amaizeingndn 9/16/2012 7:48:00 PM
I like this product. It goes on smoothly and really does make my shadow last forever, even drugstore shadows. I don't think it's better than UDPP or TFSI, but it's even with them. i don't really like the sponge tip applicator and prefer a tube so that I can squeeze every last bit of product out, so for that reason I won't repurchase.

Eye Shadow -Make Up For Ever - Aqua Cream 15
amaizeingndn 11/26/2011 12:02:00 AM
I love this, and I'll quit using it for awhile and then pick it up and realize again how great it is. I have super oily eyelids and I was doubtful that this would hold up w/o a primer, but it does- I have no creasing problems with it. I like to wear it over the lid and under the lower lash line with just some dark brown liner in the inner rim, and it looks great. It's not too shimmery for daytime, but has a nice shimmer to it. Would highly recommend, and the other colors are just as great.

Eyeliner -Revlon - Colorstay Eyeliner-Black
amaizeingndn 11/25/2011 11:44:00 PM
My favorite liner for the inner rim. It does fade after awhile, but all liner in the inner rim will do that. It's a very dark black that's not especially creamy, which is what makes it good for the inner rim, but might make it not so great for just lining the eyes. I will continue to repurchase til something else is better, but so far UD, Nars, MAC, Tarte, and every other drugstore e/l have fallen short

Eye Shadow -Rimmel - Glam Eyes Quad 002 Smokey Brun
amaizeingndn 11/25/2011 11:40:00 PM
I am on the fence about this one. I really like the colors, but they don't have much pigmentation, but three of the colors are pretty light anyway, so I didn't expect them to be super pigmented anyway. The purple color is pretty disappointing, b/c it looks really nice in the pan but has pretty poor payoff even when used over primer. I did find it was better when I blended it over a similar color eyeliner, but it was still not as good as I wanted. but I do like the other 3 colors enough to keep buying it, especially since it's so inexpensive.

Eye Shadow -Rimmel - backstage
amaizeingndn 11/25/2011 11:34:00 PM
Really pretty shimmery neutral. It's kind of a pink with an almost golden-y tone, very pretty and subtle, I like to wear it with just a touch of dark brown liner and mascara, usually when I'm wearing a matte red lip. It would probably crease without primer, but I have oily lids and always wear primer, so I couldn't say for sure. with primer I had no creasing problems and I wore it for about 12 hours

Eye Shadow -Rimmel - SpecialEyes Shadow - - - Jet Black
amaizeingndn 11/25/2011 11:28:00 PM
I really like this, but I didn't purchase it to use as a deep dark black shadow. And frankly, I'm not sure why anyone would, b/c you can see the product in the packaging and it's obviously not black, it's a charcoal gray despite the name. I really like it to create a simple smokey eye, blended out with a satin finish taupe color and some black eyeliner on the inner rim. I found this, like most other Rimmel shadows I've tried, has good staying power and pigmentation when used with a primer. So as long as you purchase it with the intent of using it for what it is- a mostly matte, slightly satin finish charcoal gray- I think you'll enjoy it.

Hair Color -L'Oreal - Healthy Look Creme Gloss Color
amaizeingndn 5/5/2011 1:34:00 AM
I'm really surprised at the bad reviews this product is getting. I love this, it''s one of the only things that stays constant in my hair routine. I have naturally very dark brown hair, but it has a fairly strong natural reddish tone to it. I use the color Espresso/Darkest Brown, and it takes the redness out of my hair and makes it a touch darker. It also adds a ton of shine and volume to my fine hair. I also like that it's semi-permanent so the re-growth isn't too harsh and it keeps my hair healthy since I'm growing it out. I really like this product, and it's my favorite drugstore hair color.

Eyeliner -Make Up For Ever - Waterproof Eyepencil in Pearly Brown 2L
amaizeingndn 4/26/2011 9:46:00 PM
This is my first Aqua Eyes pencil, and I really like it. It's a very pretty golden/bronze-y brown color. I bought it for my waterline. I've had a hard time finding a liner that stays put longer than an hour, and had heard good things about these, and I think they totally live up to the hype. This color goes on smooth and stays put for several hours. It isn't super noticeable, but I like that. Because I have small eyes, anything super dark on the waterline makes my eyes look even smaller, so I like to use a color like this that adds just a bit of definition without closing them in. I really like these and will definitely be trying more.
