I finally got my salux wash cloth in the mail the other day and it's everything I thought it would be. II find that this wash cloth is very similar to the one The Body Shop sells, it's called body polisher or something. BUT the salux cloth is thicker and feels smoother on the skin than the body shop one... plus it's only like $3 whereas the body shop one is like $10. I am an exfoliation queen and this def gets my rave review. I love this and I think everyone should have one. I just bought a couple for my mom cause she would go bananas for this. I even got my bf to start using it and now he's silky smooth and gets laid more cause of it. I found out about this wash cloth here on MUA and thank heavens for this site cause i prob would have never discovered it if it wasen't for MUA'ers. you guys are awesome.
Polishes -OPI - Altar Ego Bridal Edition Nail Polish

what a gorgeous colour! works great as a top coat over other nail polish colours as well. to describe the colour, it's like a semi sheer pink opal. works great on it's own or, personally, i like it layers over french manicures for a nice pearly finish.
Eye Shadow -MAC - Overrich - Museum Bronze Pigment

Love, love, love this colour! Shows up great on my NC44 skin and is wonderfully shimmery. It applies like butter and blends well. I especially love this pigment blended with Melon for a more gold-ish tone.
Cleansers -Dove - Dove Go Fresh Citrus Facial Cleanser
alyssac3 6/11/2011 10:12:00 AM
This is the worst facial cleanser I have ever used, I was very dissipointed with Dove considering I love their soaps. I found that this cleanser did not feel like it washed off clean and it made my skin feel tight and dry. The smell was great but the consistency of the product was like toothpaste... did not like it.
I bought this eyeliner in brown and didn't like the way it felt on my eyelids... it felt waxy and would smudge around a bit throughout the day. It also didn't show up well on me. I like that it has a smudger sponge on the other end because now I use this pencil for my eyebrows! the brown shade matches my eyebrows well and the smudgie on the other end makes for easy blending and contouring for the brows. It also lasts all day and doesn't move around. I think this product would be better used on the brows than eyeliner, for you fellow MUA'ers you should try this if the shade is right.
Pressed Powders -MAC - Mineralize Skinfinish Natural - Medium Deep

This is a great pressed powder that matches my skin tone well. I'm fairly dark (indian) skinned with yellow/orange undetones and this is the best shade matched to my fluctuating skin tone. In the summer time I can get pretty chocolately dark and in the winter I lighten up to a caramel-brown shade and this is great to use all year round for me. I like the coverage as well since it starts out light/medium and you can build it from there. This powder sets my MAC face & body foundation and my mineralize skinfinish natural in NC43 nicely. I find that my face does get a tad oily after a day's wear but it's nothing too serious that some blotting papers can't fix.
I have been using cream highlighers for years and I love the way it looks. I usually mix a couple drops with my foundation then apply it all over my face for a wonderful glow... I also rub in a little on my neck and collerbones for a night out. Before using this product, I was using a similar one by estee lauder (can't remember the exact name) but I think they discontinued it and it worked really well. It gave me a pink-ish glow without all the flecks of glitter. It was real smooth looking but this stuff also works well.
At first scent I was kinda like "what's that?... it smells sexy... deep... and wonderful." The scent grew on me so I had to approach him. His name was Sam and he was visiting from Ireland.. he was also drop dead sexy, like a young Hugh Grant sexy. I started chatting him up a little until I just had to ask what cologne he was wearing. He said in the most adoring Irish accent "Jo Malone, I bought mine from London. It's called Pomegranate Noir." Sam told me it was a unisex cologne and I would be able to wear it as well... and that's all it took for me to fall in love.... with the fragrance that is. After a rendez-vous with Sam that evening I found the bottle of Pomegranete Noir in the hotel bathroom later that night. I spritzed it all over me and basked in my scent... I absoltely loved it! Not only did it remind me of him, but it has such a unique smell, it was strong, almost musk like and totally irresistible! The next day I ventured out to find this wonderful cologne and ended up finding it as well as another, Orange Blossom. I bought them both and adored my new unique scents. I will never forget my summer of Pomegranete Noir.
This is a beautiful fragrance which I get complimented on all the time (from men mostly). It actually smells like fresh orange blossoms! I fell in love with this fragrance after smelling Pomegranete Noir on a gorgeous male, he told me about Jo Malone fragrances and I seeked them out and found this one worked well on me. I agree with some of these reviews that Jo Malone fragrances are intimate experiences for everyone and some scents that work on some, may not work for others. They have such an extensive collection of natural smelling frangrances that there is something for everyone. I would have rated this perfume a perfect 5 if the scent didn't change over time. I've had mine for about 2 years now and I noticed that it smells more and more like alcohol and the sweet orange top notes have faded. The perfume also does not last as long on skin the older the fragrance gets.
Shu Uemura's false eyelashes are in my opinon the best on the market for their quality and lush, dramatic look. I have a few different pairs: Luxe Black - my favourite! gives a lovely, whispy, lush eyelash effect for a dramatic look... great for a night out. Farfallina - gives a wonderful lush, yet natural eyelash effect as it has layers of brown and black tones and 2 tiers of curls. Black velvet - very dramatic! Great for those diva moments. Slant black - for a very natural/ whispy look. great for everyday wear. These eyelashes can cost up to $40 per pair but are worth it. If you take care of them they can last months even with regular use. They are easy to apply as the bands on these are nice and thick so the lash hairs won't fall off, they are easy to apply and the band looks like eyeliner when you apply them. I have used many other brands of eyelashes like MAC, makeup forever, ardell etc and none of them compare to these. If you want a good pair of eyelashes then you should invest in a pair of these!
This is the mecca of false eyelashes. Shu Uemura luxe black eyelashes are an absolute staple in my makeup collection and quite frankly, they are the best false eyelashes on the market. I have used many, many false eyelashes in my time (MAC, make up forever, ardell etc) yet none of them compare to the quality and the way these look. They are just so lush and beautifully crafted! I bought my first pair randomly from Sephora back in the day when they used to sell them and from the first time I tried them on I fell in love. These eyelashes do something to your eyes that other false eyelashes just can't seem to do - they add sparkle. They make your eyes look bigger, brighter and more defined and I truly mean it. They go with just about any look for day or night and they are easy to apply. Each pair is made with such amazing quality that if you take care of them properly they can last you months. The secret to these lashes are in the band, the band is thick and sturdy which means that the eyelash hairs won't fall off and they make the eyelashes easy to apply as the thick band makes them easy to control when gluing them on. The band also sits very well on the lash line and you can control the angle that you want it to sit at. These lashes were made to imitate mink eyelashes which can cost up to $500! But why bother when you can have these (I personally think they look much better than real mink eyelashes and they are cruelty free.) I pay almost $40 for each pair of these but they are worth the money as no other eyelashes I have ever used can compare to Shu Uemura's false eyelash quality. You will never be dissapointed in these.. i'm not and I think i'm on my 10th pair and can't seem to find anything better, but that would be a hard triumph.
This is a great light coverage foundation. Before buying this product I could not seem to find a sheer foundation that was not too heavy. I used to mix my foundation with moisturizer just to get the effect (and it worked out pretty well) until I a very helpful sales assistant recommended I use MAC face and body. It blends easily into the skin and it's pretty foolproof as it's really sheer. It also lasts forever because it comes in a 120 ml bottle. It's so light on the skin that it feels like you are not even wearing foundation at all. I then use MAC mineralize skinfinish natural to set the foundation for a really natural, fresh and clean look. If you are looking for a sheer foundation to even out your skin tone anywhere on your body then this is perfect. Personally, I use this on my face and it's great for everyday wear. Since I've had mine for a while I've noticed that it starts to separate and you really have to shake it well before using it, it also starts to get a tad oily.
I found that this mascara didn't give me a very "plush" effect. I found it was rather clumpy, but if you wiggle ur wand side to side as you coat your lashes the clumps get smoothed away. It gave me a bit of a spidery lash look rather than fulless and volume which I was looking for. I also find that the wand isn't good for coating my bottom lashes and it makes them a bit clumpy as well. It's actually quite an average mascara... nothing special about it really except for the packaging which is always nice thanks to MAC.
This is the first Chanel cleanser I have ever used and I freaking love it! I got this about 2 weeks ago after using Chanel Hydramax Cream and I loved it so much that I got the cleanser as well. I can say with confidence that since using chanel gel purete along with chanel hydramax cream that I have not had any new breakouts... not 1! I love this cleanser because it does not dry out my skin like other cleansers do. It foams up well creating a bubbly lather to wash my face and it rinces off clean taking off all my makeup. I would def recommend using this product if you get moderate breakouts... nothing too severe, and if you tend to have dry skin as this will not dry it out further. It also smells great!
I use this Cutex Diamond Extra Hard as a base coat to strengthen my nails before I apply nail colour and top coat. Since using this product as a base coat my nails have finally stopped chipping and they started growing and now I have lovely natural long nails. However, the only downside to this product is that I find my nail polish chips off faster than usual... maybe thats because I am using it as a base coat rather than a top coat.
