does anybody else think this mascara (in the waterproof formula, specifically) smells like sunscreen?!? I find that it does but i actually kind of like that scent so it doesn't bug me at all:P anyways, I like it :) the packaging is cute, its a pretty big tho (bigger than the maybelline the falsies mascara) It lasts well on my lashes and doesn't rub onto my lids (which are oily), i wish it helped with curl more though because I really do not like the ONLY eyelash curler i have right now. (any suggestions? I'm in the market for a new one) I like it, but I probably won't repurchase because I love to try new things! (i got it for 5.99$ by the way, in Canada)
OMG HG LIP GLOSS<3 I'm in love and I have been since I first purchased this lip gloss a few weeks ago. I live in Canada and I think these are around 8$ (everything is more expensive here) so I pretty much always buy my makeup when it's on sale and one day there was a Revlon sale with a lot of their lip products for 4.99$ so I got these and a few other products. I got this lip gloss (Pink Pop) and another one (Coral Reef) and they are both soooo gorgeous<3 I will definitely repurchase both. They are opaque, not sticky (but sticky enough to stay on your lips) and the colour selection is really nice!!! I am going to repurchase these and get more colours!
Lipstick -Revlon - Super Lustrous Lipstick - Rose & Shine

I bought this lipstick a few weeks ago and it was love at first try. I was about to do a review right away but I decided to wait and try it out a bit. I have to say I'm glad I waited. I do like this lipstick and I will keep wearing it, but its definitely not a must-have. The colour (Rose & Shine) is a rosy nude with a "pearl finish." It looks great in the tube and in a swatch but I find when I apply it to my lips it's too pearly and it doesn't sit very well on dry lips. It's fairly long wearing and although it isn't moisturizing it isn't drying either. I like to top it with a gloss to even it out and make it look better if my lips are dry.
I've had this mascara for while, and for some reason when I was younger I was really obsessed with looking super natural so I bought this in brownish black because I'm very fair. Now I prefer black mascaras because I like more drama on my lashes, but I still use this mascara on days when I do just want a natural look (If I'm just running out of the house, if I'm snowboarding or going to dance classes), it is super easy to apply I just sweep it through my lashes once or twice and I don't even need to run a lash comb through it. I am going to purchase this in black and see if I can build up more volume and drama with it so I can wear it every day. I reccomend this product to make up beginners because its really easy and it doesn't take forever to get it off either but it wears well on my lashes.
When I buy a concealer I want it to do more than my foundation does, which this does not. It's very sheer coverage, so if I am trying to cover under eye circles or acne I have no luck. It can cover a bit of redness, but I need more than that. I have it in 15 fair which is too light for me and the undertones do not match the ones in my skin so it looks out of place and just draws more attention to the problem. In Canada this is simply not cheap (I still can't believe I paid 10$ for this, SO NOT WORTH IT) the packaging is OK, but I'm disapointed because I really like Maybelline. I have tried the fit me foundation and it was really sheer to, this line is for skin that just need a little bit of help/coverage, it is not good for me. Update: Ok so i've been using this a bit more and i'm changing the rating to 3 lippies (from 2) because i'm starting to at least like it enough to use it up. but im bringing the packaging quality down to 1 lippie (from 3) because the little black band on it start rubbing its ink onto my hands and in my purse and the actually concealer like exploded in my purse (i was really unhappy about that)
I have two shades of this eye pencil, 08 Teddy (medium-brown) and 04 White (white...duh). These are no good, I really wanted to like them (I think they cost 1.49$ Canadian, but don't quote me on that) but I couldn't sharpen them to a fine enough point to line my eyes, so I tried just putting it on my water line. It didn't irritate my eyes but neither of the shades lasted more than 20 minutes and Teddy just made my eyes look muddy because I couldn't build up any colour. There are some way better eye pencils out there, I don't reccomend this.
Blush -Wet 'n' Wild - Silk Finish Blush 831D Pearlescent Pink
alwayshine14 1/13/2013 12:20:00 PM
This is a lovely blush, the color is a warm, coral pink with fine gold shimmer. I just dab my brush in the blush once or twice (I use the Lilique powder brush) and I just sweep it across my cheeks for a glow. It is buildable, but as you build it the gold shimmer becomes too noticeable. I wish the packaging was a little different, the slot for the blush brush (which is nasty by the way, I never use it and I am not a brush snob) is almost as big as the actual blush, I think it would be easier to store if it wasn't such a big rectangle. You barely need any product to give your cheeks a glow, but if I need to I will probably repurchase this.
This would be a good lip gloss...if it wasn't TERRIBLE. I have almost nothing good to say about this lip gloss, and I don't really have high standards. The claims on the package are "ultra shiny lip gloss, moisturizing and non-sticky." Non-stickiness is not always the best thing, products have to be sticky enough to stick to your lip so that they stay on your lips, which this product did not do. It was at the edges of/around my lips within 15 minutes, it feels slippery and greasy. It's not moisturizing, but it doesn't dry out your lips, which is good I guess. I did like the packaging, you get a decent amount of product for the price (which would be a good thing if I actually liked the product enough to ever use it, and I try to find a way to use almost everything I buy). It's a nice color (I have the sparkly bright red one, which of course doesn't even have a name on the packaging) and the color pay-off is OK, but it doesn't stay on my lips anyways. Oh and it also smells, and tastes bad. I'm disapointed, I have two other essence lip glosses that I like so this is unfortunate.
This eyeshadow is so gorgeous and so pigmented. It's gold with shimmer, and even though I have oily lids I can wear it and it doesn't crease for hours! The color is pretty, and I know it will last me a long time because I don't wear eyeshadow every day but if I need to I will repurchase it and I am going to pick up a few more shades some time soon. I apply this to just my lids with my fingers and i use a crease brush to blend it into my crease a tiny bit, I have pretty oily lids so I apply a thin layer, but the color definitely shows up. I definitely recommend this.
This is one of my favorite concealers, for a stick concealer it is very creamy, has great coverage and although it is yellow toned it worked fine on my under-eye circles. It is matte and lasted a long time on my skin. I went through this product pretty fast tho because it is so creamy, but for 2.49 or so, I didn't expect a lot of product. I am planning on repurchasing this soon, as I am almost done the one I am working on now.
My mom bought this to use on both her face and mine when I was younger and we were on vacation and forgot a moisturizer. I was probably about 12 and I had pretty oily skin already so I never used it on my face and my mom (who has dry skin) only did while we were away so it lasted quite a while. Eventually it was just taking up cupboard space so one day when I got out of the shower I rubbed it all over my legs and was amazed by the results. It was mid winter and my legs decide to get really dry in the winter, but after applying this to my legs at night after my shower they were super soft in the morning. It did not irritate my skin, it smelt mild (was not heavily perfumed) and soaked in really fast for an oil. I might repurchase this product if my legs get really dry this winter, but it's January and so far my legs are doing OK so I'll see if I need to get it, but at least I know I can get a fast acting moisturizing product if I need to.
Milan Mode is a sheer fuchsia pink with warm undertones and fine shimmer. The color is really nice and it actually shows up on my fairly pigmented lips without being to crazy, its sheer enough for daytime but definitely buildable for night time. The shimmer is just enough to add dimension to your lips but isn't gritty. I have to apply a moisturizing lip balm over or under this lip stick because I find it does dry out my lips a little bit. I'm saying that I will buy this again, but it definitely will not be in the near future because I like to try new lip products rather than repurchasing favorites.
Eye Makeup Remover -Neutrogena - Oil Free eye makeup remover
alwayshine14 1/10/2013 10:53:00 PM
I love this makeup remover! It takes off my water proof mascara with little difficulty as well as all eyeliner and eyeshadow. I open up the bottle and press the opening to a cotton pad, I tip it onto the cotton pad a few times and wipe off my makeup with ease. The bottle has lasted me for a while and it's great that you can stick a q-tip in there to clean up smudges. I wish the opening was a little smaller tho, because it has spilled on my once. This product feels very gentle and soft on my skin, doesn't irritate my eyes or break me out when I use it all over my face. I will definitely repurchase:)
This primer was the first primer I ever used, and the first time I applied it under my foundation I immediately saw a difference in the staying power, and smoothness of my foundation. I use this primer by applying a thin, even layer all over my face, I let it sink in for a few minutes and then use a cosmetic sponge to apply my foundation. I didn't do any color correcting, but it wasn't a claim on the bottle and I don't have particularly large pores that need filling but I have pretty oily skin and it did mattify my face and make my foundation look more matte and more full coverage. A flaw of this primer is the way it is packaged, if you don't shake it really well before each use the product comes out really watery and gross. It goes on as a creamy satiny cream and dries in a satiny powdery way, I used to find it a little gross feeling but it doesn't bug me anymore now that I've gotten used to it. I will probably repurchase it eventually but there are other primers I want to try first.
Lips -Revlon - ColorBurst Lip Butter in Peach Parfait
alwayshine14 1/10/2013 10:37:00 PM
I had heard that Revlon Lip Butters were supposed to be moisturizing but I didn't find that to be the case at all with this shade or with the other shades I have. I find that these lip butters in general go on creamy but don't feel like they actually moisturize my lips, I also find that they are too creamy to stay on my lips. This particular shade doesn't stay on my lips either, I would describe the color as a peachy-pink nude with gold shimmer when swatched but when I actually apply it to my, fairly pigmented, lips it looks more orangey-nude-peach with gold shimmer. The shimmer in the shade is more accurately described as sparkle, it makes the product feel pretty gritty when applied, even though its creamy. I'm going to continue using this product and see if I can achieve a look I like better by layering it with different lip sticks and glosses; but I probably won't re-purchase.
