Lip Treatments -Blistex - Raspberry Lemonade Blast with SPF 15

You either love or hate the taste and smell. If you love it, like I do, it's a great, fun lip balm with moderate moisturizing ability, which is just what I'm looking for. I don't want my lips slathered in balm, but I want some protection from the dryness of the air-conditioning in my office, and this does the job perfectly.

Scrubs -Fancl - Body Puff
altessa 4/16/2010 12:09:00 AM
I have owned my body puff for awhile. I don't use it everyday, as I tend to use bar soaps, but when I feel my skin needs some exfoliation (about once a week or two), I will use this puff with my shower gel. It's like a bigger version of the facial puff and I love its softness. It's just the right size for my hand too, and big enough so I can reach my back to give it a good scrub. After each use i will rinse it thoroughly with water (until there are no more soap suds) and hang it to dry completely before I use it again. My body puff is still in great condition even though it's been about a year since I bought it, and will still last for a good long while. I will definitely buy it again if it gets too old though.

Powders -Fancl - Cleartune Oil Control Powder
altessa 4/15/2010 11:45:00 PM
I used to use this a few years ago but stopped because I wanted a change. Back then however, I used to break out quite badly, and the green tint of the powder really helped to reduce the appearence of redness on my face, especially on my nose and cheeks. As a result, my face also appeared brighter. Oil control-wise, I guess it did help a little, but as I had a serious oil problem then, my face would still be an oil slick at the end of the day even with this on. This product has a faint smell of sulphur which takes some getting used to, but is not overly pungent. I used to just wear this on its own (this was when I hadn't gotten into using makeup yet), but using other products should mask the smell quite effectively. I actually finished using 2 - 3 cakes of this, but I've since moved on!

Moisturizers -Unlisted Brand - Hazeline Snow Moisturising Cream
altessa 4/15/2010 11:26:00 PM
Product Texture - The cream is a pure-white semi-solid that is a bit crumbly and cool to the touch. It feels a bit strange at first, but when I rub it on my face, it dissolves into a cream that quickly absorbs, leaving my face with a healthy glow. There is no oily or sticky residue at all. Product Efficacy - I have been using this for about a month or so. My mom originally bought this for me, saying she used to use it when she was younger. I thought it was a cheap product that couldn't compare to the new products that were out now, but it does its job as well. Price - It's cheap, it's affordable, it does its job. What more can you ask? Packaging - I don't really like the packaging as the cap doesn't seem to screw on properly. It also comes with a little tab that I'm not sure if you're supposed to throw away or not, but I kept it because I'm afraid the cream will dry out if I do.

Sunscreen -Fancl - Fancl Sunguard spf 30
altessa 4/14/2010 3:36:00 AM
Just got this over the weekend and recently started using it. Fancl Sunguard is not greasy, has good absorption, and is a physical sunblock with TiO and ZnO. As I am not out in the sun all day, SPF 30 is more than enough for me. I also like that it is for both face and body, so I use the same product for my exposed arms and legs as well. When first applied, it seems to sit on the skin for awhile and has a bit of a whitecast. However once absorbed, skin feels only slightly moisturised and not too dry. I wear foundation over this to take an edge off the whitecast, but sometimes just go without because it isn't that noticeable anyway. All in all a good sunblock which I will buy again because I love how Fancl products are free of preservatives. I also love how all Fancl products come with a little sticker you can stick on your bottle to note down the date you opened it and the date it expires. Small details, but extremely useful!

Shampoo -Aubrey Organics - GPB-Glycogen Protein Balancing Shampoo
altessa 4/12/2010 11:19:00 AM
Bought a 2oz. bottle to try out and it arrived today! Just came out of a shower after having tried it and these are my first thoughts: Guess the smell is a love it or hate it affair. I personally quite like the smell; I find it calming and not too strong. My mum commented that it reminded her of baby powder. I had already expected the shampoo not to lather, but for someone who has used commercial shampoos (with SLS/ALS) all her life, using this was quite a shocker as I couldn't get the shampoo to lather at all. I ended up using quite a lot of shampoo and when I rinsed, I was worried my hair wasn't clean, even though I tried my best to shampoo all of my hair and rub it into my scalp. I bought the shampoo in conjunction with the conditioner, and in contrast to the shampoo, the conditioner left me very pleasantly surprised, but I guess that's for another review! All in all, I do like this product, and would consider buying the 12oz. bottle to use long-term. I think it's just a matter of getting used to the non-lathering. Update (16Apr10): I changed the rating down to 3 lippies because in retrospect, the shampoo isn't that great. I am currently using the A'kin Mandarin Shampoo and it is easier to lather, and more economical as I didn't have to use as much shampoo. I do like the smell of this GPB shampoo though.
