Polishes -Sally Hansen - Smooth And Perfect

I have tried the "Satin 04" color. I love the color, it's very nice to wear to work. Just like with most drug store nail polish, you have to apply 3 layers for the color to come through like it's supposed to and for it to be even and consistent. I really don't understand why they can't make light colors more pigmented. Anyway, you do need many coats and you have to wait a long time between coats. I waited 15-20 minutes between each coat (3 of them) and then added a clear top coat and waited another 20 minutes. It seems dry but if you, for example, put your hand between your head and pillow at night, the nails get a texture on them from your hair or pillow. It's very gooey and doesn't get rock hard. After they nails get dinged, the shine goes away also. The top coat (also sally) didn't help at all. Not only that, but little bubbles appear on some nails! I would not purchase again.

Treatments -Garnier - Sleek and Shine Moroccan Sleek Oil Treatment
rated 4 of 5

I love this product so far. I've used it for a week, so about 6 times so far and it's great. I've got really long dark hair. It's normal thickness, but I get really oily roots and dry ends. I've colored it many many times so the ends are pretty crunchy. This is the first time in a long time that I was able to comb my hair right out of the shower! Before, I tried all sorts of deep conditioners, treatment conditioners, and they would work sort of, but I wouldn't get that soft, manageable and I couldn't detangle my hair when it was wet...so I couldnt use a brush to dry it and that made it even more frizzy. Another product that I love that has similar results to this is the Cleansing Conditioner by Lisa Rachel...I absolutely love it. However, I wanted to try this oil treatment because the Lisa Rachel product is a bit expensive, I can't find it in stores, and in order to get that soft amazing hair you have to use a lot of conditioner! With this oil treatment, I still use regular conditioner for dry hair, but only on the pony tail (the part of the hair longer than my shoulders), but I only put a bit, then I add some water, squeeze it out and put a tiny bit of the oil. Then I use a shower comb to distribute it and rinse it out pretty well. It comes out really soft and I haven't noticed oily residue. When the hair is still wet you can notice that it's a bit oily, but that's because this product is oil...but after you dry it, it's completely soft, non sticky or anything like that. Don't use it on your scalp if you have oily roots. The reason I took off a point for the overall rating is because the bottle is pretty small and it cost over $5 (on sale). But because of the great results I'm definitely buying this again even at full price. I highly recommend it!

Treatments -Garnier - Fructis Triple Nutrition Nutrient Spray
rated 4 of 5

I really like this spray. I was kinda hesitant to try it because my hair gets pretty oily, especially at the scalp, and this has "triple nutrition", but it's a good product. It leaves the hair very shiny, soft, and manageable. What I really liked about it in the store was the fact that you can use it on dry hair. There's not many products like that, and I like to give my hair a little something after a long, stressful, crazy day at work to make it less frizzy, soft and pretty. This does just that! The nozzle is also great because it sprays out in a fan shape so it covers the hair evenly and it misty, so it's not too heavy. It works great on wet hair too, and when using a blow dryer and brush it leaves the hair frizz free, shiny and soft. I definitely recommend it! =)

Styling Products -TRESemme - Instant Heat Tamer Spray
rated 4 of 5
allyp 7/27/2010 11:52:00 AM

This product is really nice! I like the nozzle because it sprays out in a fan shape so it's very misty and even...not all in one place. I mostly use it before I curl my hair with a curling iron. If you curl right away after you spray, the curls come out very shiny, curly and they last a long time. So I advice to separate the hair and apply to spray to small sections and then curl. Don't spray all over at once because then the product will dry by the time you get to curl your whole head. It's a good styling product on wet hair as well, since it protects from the heat as you blow dry. It doesn't leave much build up which is nice...but then again you should probably wash your hair everyday or every other day, so it shouldn't be a problem. =)

Treatments -Clean & Clear - Persagel 10
rated 4 of 5
allyp 7/27/2010 11:46:00 AM

I really like this product. It's very strong and I believe pretty effective. It's clear, however if you put too much on then it leaves you with a white streak. You really shouldn't care about that though since it works! Even if it would make my face green I would use it...well at night =) It will dry your skin a bit, but that's what acne medicine has to do in order to clear your skin. I usually apply a thin-ish layer in the morning, let it dry for a couple of minutes, and then put on makeup. If there is white residue, the makeup will cover that up. At night I put on a LOT and in the morning my skin is very clear and soothed, and if you add some water to wash your face the dryness goes away since it's pretty creamy. I definitely recommend it. =)

Cleansers -Neutrogena - Oil-Free Acne Stress Control Power - Cream Wash
rated 4 of 5
allyp 7/27/2010 11:40:00 AM

I like the Neutrogena brand so I decided to try this. At first I didn't really like it because stupid me didn't realize it was literally a "cream". So for me it doesn't really give you that "clean" feeling because it doesn't foam up and it's obviously not a scrub. However, the smell is nice and it leave you with a fresh feeling. It is easy to wash off which I like. And of course, most importantly I think it works pretty well at keeping your skin clear. I have slightly oily skin, and it doesn't dry it out and also it keeps it pretty oil free. The one great thing is that it leaves the skin very smooth! If you have acne problems, or sudden breakouts, don't expect to use this for a couple of days and then everything is clear. You need something stronger for that. But for a daily wash, it will keep your skin smooth, fresh, clean and give you an extra boost at clearing your face as an addition to a more powerful spot treatment or something of that sort. =)

Styling Products -TRESemme - 24 Hour Body Root Boosting Spray
rated 3 of 5
allyp 7/27/2010 11:34:00 AM

I typically trust Tresemme's styling products, however this spray doesn't seem to do much for my hair type. Maybe for other people it works, but for me...not so much. I really had high hopes for it. I didn't get discouraged the first time I used it, but after a few tries I realized that it just doesn't work. I followed the directions and blow dried my hair upside down and lifted at the root, but it didn't "boost" much. The good thing about it is that it didn't leave any build up, which I was afraid (that's why I don't typically use anything that goes directly on the scalp). I will try it again for a week or two, but I am disappointed.
