Primer/ Corrector -Make Up For Ever - HD Microperfecting Primer in 1 Green
allygirl 11/5/2009 2:01:00 AM
I picked this primer at IMATS - as I jumped at the chance to have a green based primer for myself. Its got a great smooth texture, and isn't thick and sticky like smashbox photofinish. I also dont have a problem with breakouts after it (and I think Smashbox is the only product that has ever made me breakout!) Im really red in the cheeks, as I have super reactive skin and im very fair. My favourite primer above this is Laura Mercier, and it will still win out as its a better all-rounder. This green doesn't work on a lot of people as its too strong, but as some other MUA'ers have noted, the green isn't enough for some of us redder-than-red sufferers. Other artists have complained that this can show through - and I think people that it shows through probably dont have enough red for the green to neutralise. Having said that, it tones it down a little on me, makes my makeup smooth and makes it last a bit longer than it would regularly. I recommend this product - ive had it for about 4 weeks and im about 1/4 through - LOVE the package though. Easy to put in a kit, and santiary.

Eye Shadow -Gorgeous Cosmetics - Ms Vegas Loose Dust
allygirl 4/9/2009 2:39:00 AM
I dont own this color, but have used it enough to call it a HG loose dust. Its one of those colors that so easily creates a smokey eye with NO work at all. You probably wouldn't pick it up in the store because its dark and looks kind of 'blah' BUT, once you get it you'll find yourself reaching for it again and again. As a matter of fact, im going to go buy it now. Must have!!

Eyes -Gorgeous Cosmetics - iPrime
allygirl 4/9/2009 2:36:00 AM
I work with iPrime fairly often. As far as primers go, its not too bad in creating a base in terms of color, but for texture it never seems to set - and it has a sticky texture for eyeshadows, so they grab and dont blend very well. It'd be better suited to a theatrical setting where you're going to 'pack' the product on, and you're not too concerned about your blending. Its certainly not a bad product, its just not great and I find that it sometimes upsets the skin on my eyelids which is never fun. Im quite wishy washy - because if its there, i'd use it but i'd go but Too Faced primer before this anyday.

Treatments -Alfaparf - Semi di Lino Cristalli Liquidi

I LOVE this product. I used it for the first time about 10 year ago, and I've never found anything that lives upto it. It makes my hair soft and shiney without the weight. It does have a cologne smell - but I love this.

Styling Products -Redken - Rough Paste
allygirl 11/13/2003 12:21:00 AM
I love this product. Its perfect for my short flick 'do. Its a strong hold, without the crunch of a gel. I also find it lasts. Where a normal wax would have dissappeared and left my locks fluffy or greasy by the end of the day, rough paste stays like perfect. :)

Lip Gloss -Tony & Tina - Aromatherapy Lipgloss in Nixie

Love this color. Doesn't have the staying power I wish it had, but its a gloss. By nature they go wandering from your lips onto hair/wine glass/boyfriend. I don't find the smell offensive. This is a total staple.

Scrubs -Aesop - Tea-Tree Leaf Facial Exfoliant

This stuff is my holy grail. Its not for the lighthearted. I have really dry sensitive skin, with dermatitis. And this is the only thing that really cleans my skin. Doesn't strip it either. Love it!

Cleansers -Clarins - Cleansing Milk for oily to normal
allygirl 8/24/2003 7:59:00 PM
I used this product for a couple of weeks. I have a dry combination skin (I do have oily patches...) so, this wasn't the ideal product for me - but my mother had a whole unopened bottle of it. The first couple of weeks I thought this was great - it removed makeup - seemed gentle enough.... Until the illfated day when my skin started to break out. Now, I have about 5 pimples because of deeply irritated pores. And I know it is this stuff. So, yesterday I returned it to Clarins - the woman was completely horrible. I should have explained to her that it wasn't her place to interrogate me. So, now - Im going to refuse to buy Clarins from their suppliers. I'll buy it online where is it cheaper - and the SA's are not rude. Packaging was marked down because the brittle platic top broke really easily.

Hair -ARTec - Kiwi Shampoo and Conditoner
allygirl 8/7/2003 1:39:00 AM
This shampoo and conditioner left me with itchy horrible bumps all over my head. Just an allergic reaction - but a horrible one! I won't ever purchase ArtEc shampoo and conditioners again. So much money wasted.

Self Tanners -St.Tropez - St.Tropez Tinted Self Tanning Mousse/Whipped Bronze
allygirl 8/5/2003 10:03:00 PM
Amazing. If you don't have this. Run out and buy it now. I have tried everything from lancome, safe tan, fantasy tan, etc. The list goes on forever! I bought this yesterday, and exfoliated with Exfotonic, and applied the hydrating St Tropez lotion. I quickly applied with gloves all over my legs. I was really concerned about over rubbing - as all my other tans have come out super streaky if you didn't rub in small circles. Having said that - my other self applicated tans never turned out. I woke up this morning to find gloriously browned legs - streakless! *amazing* I did miss a couple of parts - but that is simply my fault. Thi really is the holy grail!

Masks -H20 - Hydrating Marine Moisture Mask
allygirl 7/15/2003 7:36:00 PM
The mask smells pretty, looks pretty - but in the end, isn't that pretty. I applied it to my face hoping that it would be a nice gentle soothing hydrating mask. I was very dissappointed. As killerTofu said my pores threatened to pack their bags and go home. My face was a red blotchy mess. H20 promises to be a nice natural product, that uses sea extracts to cleanse the skin. This line to me is like something that is cheap and nasty, but if you've seen the prices, you'd know its not even cheap. Just nasty.

Eyeliner -NARS - Liquid in Neverland
allygirl 5/4/2003 10:53:00 PM
Neverland is a bright aqua color. The color that it is in the bottle is how it appears on the skin once applied. It holds the pearlescent color. The minor complaints about this product that I have are: The previously small applicator brush. I believe they're making the product with a longer one now. Its very expensive, but having said that - would cost the same in 'amount' of product as cheaper brands. You really get your moneys worth! I used it for a shoot yesterday, it did cake on one of the models eyes. This could have been from the powder underneath, or letting it dry too long before smoothing it out. I think you really have to apply it fresh, and work the creme to a smooth line. Great product!

Lip Gloss -Bonne Bell - Lip D'Votion
allygirl 3/20/2003 9:37:00 PM
I find the smell of the Fresh Melon offensive. It makes me feel ill. This is outweighed by the color and the texture and the gloss. They got it right!
