Polishes -Chanel - Le Vernis Nail Colour in Malice #637 (Holiday 2012 Collection)
rated 5 of 5

Chanel has put out a lot of shades that seem dupable or close to others but somehow, Chanel's shade is the perfect one. For example, for a classic vamp shade, Rouge Noir (or the original Vamp) was the perfect blend of red, brown, and darkness. Same goes for Malice. There are several dark red shimmery shades out there but Malice is perfection of that class of shade. It's just the right deepness, redness, and darkness that causes someone to look 2x at it because it's stunning. A brooding Christmas shade. I saw swatches for it on the internet and didn't know it was Chanel and immediately loved it, found out what it was, then bought it.

I like this alot but I wished it had a gold jelly base or something that wasn't clear. This my favorite gold glitter polish out there without looking cheap.

Polishes -Lippmann Collection - Edge of Glory Set
rated 4 of 5
allThingsGirl 3/25/2012 1:30:00 AM

This is the Barney's exclusive Lady Gaga "Edge of Glory" Set. I believe a certain percentage went to charity but I discovered this set after it was released and gone already. The base is a glossy dark dark black jelly. It is superb. It is so shiny and squishy. It is one of my favorite blacks, if not my favorite. The other black I love is Chanel Black Velvet which is a different leather type finish. I love this Lippmann one much more than Black Satin or any other shiny black. The black in this set is worth buying the set for alone. Seriously. It is the type of black that doesn't make your hands look old, if you can believe that. The top coat is a blue/pink flakie. I like it. But I don't love it - but I'm not a flakie fan either. I must say that it does look pretty cool with the black base coat especially in the daylight. It looks like outer space on your nails. I didn't like it when I first tried it on in my dim apartment at night but looked so much better in the sunlight. I tried the flakie by itself and it doesn't really do much. I tried it over RBL Moxie and it's not really wowing me there either. Haven't tried it on colors but I have a feeling it looks best over black. Grab this set while you can! =)

Polishes -Chanel - Distraction
rated 5 of 5
allThingsGirl 3/25/2012 1:21:00 AM

This is one of my favorite Chanel polishes by far. I had LA Sunset and Miami Peach but this is the perfect fresh vibrant coral pink salmon color that brightens up my hands and also looks sophisticated. My S.O. even commented on it and said he liked the color! LA Sunset was too orange for me. Miami Peach was too sheer. Distraction wears pretty well on me too - about a week with minor wear. Some of the other Chanels chip faster though other are about the same wear. In some lighting, it looks more orangey and in other lighting it looks more pinky.

Eye Shadow -NARS - Coconut Grove

I was super lucky to get this in one of the NARS 6 e/s palettes. I posted asking for a rec for this look: http://img3.etsystatic.com/il_fullxfull.302859291.jpg And someone suggested this color. It is really perfect for this look! Then, reading the reviews here, others suggested using as brow and liner too. This makes this color even more awesome. So versatile and what a good value for what you are getting.

Eye Shadow -NARS - Outremer

This color is amazing. It compliments my skin tone (mac NC40 yellow undertones), dark brown hair and dark brown eyes very well. They make my eyes really stand out. I generally wear it alone on the lid, in the crease, and as liner and then with a brow highlighter and lots of lashes. It is a bit deeper than MAC's Atlantic Blue. The texture is hard to work with but it's pigmented. You will definitely need to work with it.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Hocus Pocus

I love this dark grey sooty color. It is the perfect smokey eye color that isn't super dark or harsh. It's very sultry and easy to use. I like it over Blackground paint pot. This is my favorite purchase from the Blogger's Collection!

Eye Shadow -MAC - Bloggers Obsession Jealousy Wakes

I like this! But I don't love it. It's a nice green teal type color that I think flatters everyone. Mine doesn't seem to be super buttery texture like some veluxe pearls but it's not horrible either. I would recommend this to someone looking for this type of color but I don't think anyone should go out of their way to get it (i.e. Ebay or swapping an arm and a leg for it). If you're already got an arsenal of greens and teals, you can skip it. Also, this pulls more teal on me than green. Still very pretty though, just not what I was expecting from the pictures. I'm NC40 with yellow undertones.

Mascara -Hourglass - Superficial

Got this sample size in Sephora's lash stash kit. It's okay but nothing amazing. Doesn't clump or run but it doesn't do too much for my lashes either.

Got a sample size in Sephora's Lash Stash. Ugh, it is horrible. It clumps and runs all over my eyes throughout the day to give me racoon eyes. I too, usually love LM products.

Palettes -MAC - colour 4 quad
rated 5 of 5
allThingsGirl 5/6/2010 12:03:00 AM

I passed on this quad the first time thinking that it wasn't unique or I didn't want to spend the money on an ordinary quad. However -- I finally decided to get it and recently tracked it down on Dillard's website. It's true that they may not be totally unique colors but they are all excellent finishes of each quality and the price ends up being $9 a shade -- so price wise, it's cheaper than buying all similar colors separately. Manilla paper is the most perfect white gold! So smooth and highlights the brow and inner corners beautifully. Flip is a great gold that ties all the colors together and I like that the brown color isn't the typical dark liner color MAC usually puts for the 4th color. I like it because it adds depth without going too deep -- perfect for every day! As for Azelea Brick -- it's my least favorite but it works and is also super pigmented, smooth, and blendable. I hate the new packaging -- it's so hard to open. Overall, I love this quad and prefer it over my Notoriety Quad or any other bronzey gold quad out there. Would definately repurchase.

Lip Liners -MAC - In Synch
rated 2 of 5
allThingsGirl 3/21/2010 1:11:00 AM

I could not get this one to work for me. The pink isn't too cool toned but not warm toned either -- but it just didn't look good with my warm nc40 olive skin tone. I tried this under pink lipsticks and tried it under different pink and sheerish lip glosses but it's just not flattering. It reminds me of NARS Jilted Love lipliner which I swapped away. Should have listened to my gut instinct instead of giving in to LE fever so it was an impulse buy. Others say that this is creamy texture but I find mine really hard! It doesn't seem to blend well at all into my pigmented lips. I do like other MAC liners though, but just not this one.

Blush -MAC - Mineralize Blush - Buddy Up
rated 5 of 5
allThingsGirl 3/15/2010 12:45:00 AM

I was eyeing this before Too Fabulour came out and it really stood up to what I was expecting and actually more! It's a very very girle color that give me a vibrant rosy pop to the cheeks. I love it! I actually like the darker color in this blush so I picked one with more of that. NC40.

Blush -MAC - vintage grape
rated 5 of 5
allThingsGirl 2/24/2010 12:42:00 AM

I like this one! I wouldn't say that it's terribly unique and it's not really that purple -- it shows up more pinky on me than plum or purple. texture is super smooth and i like how these blush ombres have 2 colors in them. so, for the price you are sort of getting 2 blushes. i'm nc40. both colors look pretty good on me but the dark color may be too dark for light skin tones.

Eye Shadow -NARS - Soft Touch Shadow Pencil in Goddess
rated 1 of 5
allThingsGirl 2/16/2010 12:40:00 AM

I love how this product glides on my lids! I don't like how it disappears though. Honestly, I put it on right before I leave the house (with a good base and tried without too), and by the time I get down to the car, look in the rear view mirror, it's gone! I apply again, drive to work, look in the rear view mirror, it's gone...again!! I apply it again, walk to my desk, look in the mirror, and it's gone AGAIN!!! Finally, after a full week of trying to make this product work, I returned it.
