Blush -Maybelline - Dream Mousse Blush in Peach Satin ] ] [DISCONTINUED]

I've been on the fence about buying this product for a while. I saw it as a last chance sale on Walgreens and had to get it. I am so glad I did! This stuff is amazing! I have very pale skin, and pink blushes look awful on me; I always have to go for peach. This stuff blends beautifully and is really creamy. It gives a lovely peach glow without being too much or too little. It definitely seems to add much more of a glow than my usual CoverGirl Pretty Peach blush I usually use. The first night that I wore this, my SO even complimented me on how pretty my makeup looked (this was the only thing I had done different than usual). I will absolutely buy this again.

Moisturizers -Cetaphil - Moisturizing Cream
alixh08 12/15/2010 10:28:00 PM
This is my absolute HG. I'm about 3 weeks into my 2nd tub. I have never bought a second container of a moisturizer, so that speaks volumes in itself for me. I have extremely dry skin to the point where my nose and forehead will flake randomly. My skin is not so much acne prone, but gets clogged very easily with certain products. This stuff moisturizes my face perfectly and has never clogged any pores. It's very thick, but soaks into my skin and isn't greasy at all. It's not too heavy for my skin in the summer, and moisturizes it perfectly in the winter without me having to put on tons or use a 2nd moisturizer, which i've had to do previously. I honestly can't say enough good stuff about this product. Give this a try!

Lotions/ Creams -Cetaphil - Cetaphil Daily Advance Ultra Hydrating Lotion For Dry Sensitive Skin
alixh08 4/5/2010 10:09:00 PM
I've only been using this for a few days, so I will update in a few weeks. So far though, I adore this product. I have dry skin that is constantly flaking, no matter what I do. To feel like my skin is moisturized enough, I have to apply multiple layers of any moisturizer. Not with this product, though! One small, normal, thin layer over my skin leaves it so hydrated and soft all day. In the few days I've used this, I have no skin flakies on my face that I thought I'd always have no matter what. Sometimes I even apply another thin layer to my nose (one of my driest areas) and just let it sit. My skin absorbs it right up. It isn't greasy, and makeup goes on lovely over this. My previous moisturizer was also dirtying up my pores, but no matter how much of this stuff I slather on my nose and cheeks, my pores don't get filled and gross. I also love the tube. It's large enough to be a good deal for the $10 I paid, but it's also perfect for traveling. I love this stuff. If you think no moisturizer would ever work the way you want it to like I used to, give this stuff a try! UPDATE: This ended up clogging my pores. I have since switched back to Cetaphil Cream and have gone through about 3 tubs of it. It doesn't clog my pores and moisturizes even better. It's my HG.

Misc Beauty Tools -Unlisted Brand - Microfiber cloths
alixh08 11/28/2009 1:48:00 PM
This is an HG for my dry, acne-prone skin. I would never have even though about using this for my face until MUA! No matter how much I exfoliate or how well I moisturize, I always have flakies (chin, cheeks and right above the nose area) on my skin because it's so dry. And of course, my makeup doesn't go on well because of it. This is a cheap, perfect solution to the flakies problems. It gets rid of the all dead skin without being too harsh or harming any of your other skin. Just don't scrub too hard because you could actually make your skin raw. I use this every single morning so my makeup goes on more smoothly and sometimes at night. This coupled with Aquaphor gets rid of every single flake, which is a miracle for me! I do get weird looks for using this on my face since most people use it on their cars and for cleaning, but oh well! Try this! Your skin will look so smooth, and if it doesn't work, you can using it for something else!

Treatments -Clean & Clear - Persagel 10
alixh08 11/28/2009 1:06:00 PM
This is definitely an HG product for me. I've had this horrible clogged pore beside my nose for a good 3 weeks. I've been trying to treat it with TTO and other spot treatments recently. Last night I decided to use the Persa Gel, and it came to a complete head this morning when I woke up. I do have to keep some Aquaphor on hand to really moisturize the areas I put the Persa Gel or else it will dry out my already dry skin horribly. Just apply this in a thin layer over the affected area before you go to bed.

Treatments -Burt's Bees - Herbal Blemish Stick
alixh08 7/22/2009 12:18:00 AM
My mom picked this up for me a couple years ago when my acne was really bad. I used it but only got to like half the bottle before it got all junk-filled, so I stopped using it. After I had a few more breakouts than usual a couple weeks ago, I picked this up again since I've never really found a spot treatment I've loved. This is now my HG. I absolutely adore it. It does smell a bit medicinal-y as others say, but that doesn't bother me. Plus, once you have it on your face, you can't smell it anymore. I love that it's a liquid and is clear. This is the absolute only spot treatment I can wear under makeup that goes on smooth and doesn't make my makeup look weird or cakey in that area. I like the idea how other people take the roller ball out and dip a Q-tip into it, but I travel a lot, so I was worried about it leaking, and I didn't want to make a mess putting it into another bottle, so I use it with the roller ball. It's not the most sanitary thing, but that hasn't hindered it's performance, imo. I am extremely careful with it though. I only put it on my skin after cleansing so there's no dirt or makeup or anything that it can pick up and make the liquid all junky. It doesn't dry me out at all, which I love. I usually spread it over some trouble areas for to prevent breakouts, and that works fine. It's a little more expensive (about $8 at WalMart), but it is absolutely worth it. And even though I use this morning and night, I don't seem to be going through the bottle very fast at all. I will definitely repurchase this stuff.

Moisturizers -Neutrogena - Healthy Skin Anti Wrinkle SPF 15
alixh08 6/26/2009 5:03:00 PM
This is my one and only HG product (so far), and tomorrow I will be going out to buy my 5th tube. I bought this after the great reviews I read and because I needed something with SPF in it. IMO, it is a little on the expensive side (about $15 at CVS), but I'm a broke college student; I'm still going to buy this though because it works so great. Because of the retinol, it has definitely evened up my skin tone more than I had ever hoped. It has also surprisingly helped my acne so much. I use it every morning under my CeraVe moisturizer, but that's because I have super dry skin, and on its own, this isn't moisturizing enough for me. I love the whipped consistency; my skin really absorbs it. I do hate the metal tube. It's hard to roll it down to get as much of the product as possible. Sometimes it cracks a little and can even scratch me. This product is definitely worth a try, and I will continue repurchasing.

Conditioner -Aussie - Sun Touched Shine
alixh08 5/16/2009 5:17:00 PM
While I don't mind the shampoo, I can't stand this conditioner. It did nothing great for me. It's extremely thin, watery, and runny, and so it takes a lot of product to even do anything to my hair. My hair is medium-length and not terribly thick, and I still feel like it doesn't really get absorbed. It's not great for adding moisture back into your hair. The smell is kinda nice, kinda reminds me of oranges in a way, but it doesn't stay in my hair all day like Herbal Essences does. I won't buy this again.

Treatments -Olay - Regenerist Daily Thermal Mini-Peel
alixh08 3/17/2009 9:15:00 PM
I LOVE this so much! HG! At about $23.00, it is a little expensive since I'm on the broke college student budget, but this is very well worth it. I went home one weekend and noticed my mom had bought it, so I decided to try it. Instant love. My face looked smoother, more radiant, and no little flakies (I have very dry, flaky skin). Then, the next morning I still looked glowy! Usually I stay away from Olay products because they tend to break me out, but this definitely did not at all. Once I got back to school, I went to CVS right away and got my own bottle! I do think the warming factor is a little iffy, but that definitely does not deter me at all from buying this and isn't even really a factor to me considering how great it works on my skin. It seems like everytime I use some from my mom's bottle... it stays very very warm for about a minute. When I use my bottle, I can only feel the slighest warmth for about 5 seconds. I have acne-prone, dry skin, and I use this everyday morning and night. I'd say it definitely helps my acne, and it does not cause any further dryness. Now that my acne is almost gone, this is even starting to fade some pretty noticeable acne scars I have! I think everyone should try this.

Cleansers -Cerave - Hydrating Cleanser
alixh08 3/17/2009 9:08:00 PM
This is absolutely an HG for my acne-prone, dry skin. After years of experimenting with harsh DS products to get rid of acne, I realized that was the problem. I finally learned going on the gentler and more simple route would help my skin, and it has so much! This cleanses my face so well and does not leave it dry in the slightest. It's not the greatest at removing makeup though, so to do so it'll take about 2 good washes. I just use a makeup remover before washing with this. It's not the prettiest bottle to display in your bathroom... but who cares when it works this well! I also love how you just twist the top to the side, and it locks... none of this pushing down, wasting product, twisting business. Will definitely repurchase.

Moisturizers -Cerave - Moisturizing Lotion
alixh08 3/17/2009 9:04:00 PM
HG moisturizer. I have very dry skin, so it's hard to find a moisturizer that moisturizes enough without breaking me out. This works so well! It feels very light and slightly gel-ish, but it absorbs into your skin and leaves my skin perfectly moisturized all day. I also use this anywhere else I may need to. It definitely does not break me out at all. UPDATE: This does moisturize really well, but my pores get clogged easily and this did just that. If your pores don't get clogged, I definitely recommend this. Otherwise, try Cetaphil Cream. It is the only thing that moisturizes my dry skin enough without clogging it.

Skincare - Face -Stridex - Triple Action Pads, Alcohol Free
alixh08 3/17/2009 9:01:00 PM
One of very few HGs for me! If you are debating on buying these... just go ahead and GET THEM! I was on the Skincare Board, and everyone raved about these. I finally went out and bought them. Instant love. They have stopped my breakouts completely except for maybe 1 or 2 bumps here and there. They don't leave my face overly dry. The jar is great for traveling and lasts about 2 months at the price of a little over $3.00... so great! I also hate using spot treatments when I need it under makeup because they usually gel up and just make my foundation look weird/slightly streaky in that area. This completely absorbs into your skin and goes great under moisturizer and makeup. I use in the morning and night.

Cleansers -Neutrogena - one-step gentle cleanser
alixh08 3/17/2009 8:56:00 PM
I LOVE this, and let me tell you... I hate Neutrogena products. They are always way too harsh and drying on my skin, and make it look such much worse. This is amazing though. I feel like it just melts away my makeup so easily. My skin has cleared up and looked better while using this too; I think a main problem before was not getting off every trace of makeup well enough, but this sure does that easily. It also smells pretty good, and I love how foamy it is. It is definitely great for sensitive eyes and contact wearers. I use this to get rid of my eye makeup while my contacts are in... I almost always get some of it in my eyes, but I don't care because it doesn't hurt, sting or bother me in the slightest. This is also a great sized-bottle for traveling, and it's pretty sitting in your bathroom, haha. Will definitely repurchase.

Mascara -Cover Girl - Lash Blast
alixh08 1/9/2009 11:30:00 PM
I really wanted to love this product and to end my search for the "perfect" mascara, but unfortunately this just isn't that great. I love and hate the size of the big wand at the same time. It's great for almost all all the lashes; however, it is horrible for the little lashes at the corners of your eyes. It's caused me to smudge some mascara onto my eyelids on more than one occasion, and it's annoying to get it off without screwing your mascara up even more. I also found this to be somewhat clumpy. It does, however, wear very well. It lasts all day and doesn't flake. I won't buy this again because I know there are better mascaras out there.
