Moisturizers -Clinique - Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel

I'm not sure why the ratings are so low for this product. I have acne prone combo skin so the ddml was bad news but I really like this product. This formula has more ingredients that are better for your skin compared to ddml's dated 1960s formula but could still use more antioxidents etc. and an opaque bottle to protect it from sunlight. I have tried a lot of moisturizers and I struggle to find ones that are light enough. My skin isn't as oily as it was when this product first launched and I initially purchased it, but I still don't like the feeling of heavy lotions on my face. Nothing out there is quite as light and has good for your skin ingredients. I have come across other similar products but upon examining the label they will have alcohol or other ingredients I don't want on my face. I'm not sure why, but it seems a lot of products for acne/oily/combo skin have alcohol and that is just going to irritate the acne and dry out your skin. Not only will your skin then produce more oil and compensate, but the irritation can stimulate the nerve endings in your skin which can also cause it to product more alcohol. (I know, it sounds far fetched but I swear I'm not making it up!!!) I will say though that most of the time I don't have dry patches so if your skin is really dry, this probably won't do it but ten again it isn't designed for that skin type anyway. The bottom line is that I can't find anything as light that absorbs into my skin. I think if you're looking for anything more than a light very moisturizer, this product is not for you.

Cleansers -Cerave - Foaming Facial Cleanser
alisha546 9/5/2012 8:11:00 AM
I love this cleanser! I have acne prone skin and while it is good for my skin I think it would work for all skin types unless you have dry skin. In that case I would go with the moisturizing cleanser. Cerave doesn't test on animals and is easy to find. It removes makeup fairly well. I always used an acne cleanser but once I realized that it didn't matter because the salicylic acid (in most cases) isn't on your skin long enough to do anything, I switched over. I'm not saying this is the only good one, but it can be more difficult to find cruelty free products at the drug store that are readily available and you don't have to hunt for. I have tried other cleansers but keep coming back to this one.

Skincare - Face -Unlisted Brand - Dickinson's Witch Hazel
alisha546 9/5/2012 4:39:00 AM
I bought this before I knew it was bad for my skin. Witch hazel is an irritant! It does contain antioxidants and anti-irritants but the negatives still outweigh the positives. You never want to put (regular) alcohol on your face. Check out this link for more info: http://www.cosmeticscop.com/cosmetic-ingredient-dictionary/definition/1602/witch-hazel.aspx

Mascara -Almay - intense i-color thickening mascara-purple amethyst
alisha546 8/11/2012 4:26:00 AM
Worst mascara I've EVER tried. Rubber brush with very short bristles-it was almost like a hard plastic b/c there was no flexibility at all. Formula was crap, clumpy clumpy clumpy and it didn't do anything. I have naturally longer lashes and this was just not a good look. I even tried this with a different brush and it still sucked. As far as the purple color-meh, I don't know. I guess it was there but def not noticeable. I guess I was too focused on the other stuff to pay attention to if it complimented my eyes or whatever. Yeah....this prob wins award for worst mascara I've ever tried.

Mascara -Maybelline - Great Lash Mascara
alisha546 5/3/2012 1:15:00 AM
I agree with risababy...ick I hate this mascara. I remember trying it when I was a teen and didn't like it. For whatever reason I decided to give it another try for the blue color. Obviously it had been too long and I forgot how bad it sucked. My mom keeps buying this crap and I don't know why. She has short lashes and has used many others and still buys this. I don't care how many magazines say it's good. Do makeup artists use it b/c it's cheap and more disposable? Who knows. I do think that mascaras are a personal thing b/c depending on what you have & what you are looking to achieve is going to make a difference. My lashes are naturally somewhat long so I like volume. I hate the formula and the brush. If you are looking for a natural defined look I say forget this and use clear mascara- or tint your lashes. On a positive note this is not the worst I have tried. That award goes out to almay - I think it's called i intense or something. Gray tube, purple color for brown eyes.

Eyeliner -MAC - Fluidline Eyeliner - All Colors
alisha546 2/14/2012 6:07:00 AM
I love this stuff! It is water resistant but easy to wash off at the end of the day and you don't have those little chunks all over. It's soft and easy to work with and while the regular range is limited, the colors are good. Limited edition colors are often great, but once in a while the pigmentation can be below par but I'm not taking off for that. It is good for precise lines and winged/cat eyes and even as a base. Sometimes I hate having to use a separate brush but that's the nature of the product (in comparison to other types of eyeliner). I always keep coming back to this stuff! I feel like it doesn't dry out and maintains that gel consistency that is nice and soft. I do keep it stored upside down so I can see the color; I don't know if that matters. I think it's at a good price point b/c it is cheaper than a lot of dept. store liners and not outrageously priced. It is a big more than drugstore e/l but so far I haven't found anything there that beats this as far as consistency-that light gel almost 'whipped' texture. I like my liners to be soft and stay that way.

Eyeliner -Stila - Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner in Purple Tang
alisha546 2/14/2012 5:58:00 AM
I love this product! It's soft, goes on smoothly, and is waterproof. This is a beautiful color but I think the product is great in general. I don't like that you only get .01 oz of product especially for the price. Other than that, I highly recommend!

Eyeliner -Maybelline - Unstoppable Eyeliner
alisha546 2/14/2012 5:51:00 AM
This product is not the worst, but not the best. First of all, I only used this on the upper lash line. I found it was fine and stayed although smearing issues are usually more prevalent on the lower lash line for me and I didn't test it there. I just found it hard. I don't know, some people like firmer liners, but I don't. I feel like if they are hard they tend to tug, and tugging=wrinkles. Maybe I got a bad/old one? Or it has been reformulated? I just wouldn't want to try it again and then not like it and be stuck having to use it.

Eyeliner -Maybelline - Ultra Liner Waterproof
alisha546 2/14/2012 5:45:00 AM
Maybe the formula has changed since I tried this out a while back, but it flaked/peeled on me. Other than that, it was good-easy to apply, easy to find & purchase, dark black color, packaging is nothing special but functions as its supposed to.

Eyeliner -Maybelline - Line Stiletto liquid eyeliner
alisha546 2/14/2012 5:41:00 AM
I have been wearing liquid liner since I was about 12, so about 15 years now. I have tried many liquid liners and this one was so so but not the worst. I could at least make it work. I have oily lids but only used it on the upper lashline. Pros: -like the conical flexible applicator -like the price -didn't flake on me Cons: -not the darkest black out there -breaks down easily especially if worn by itself and not with eyeshadow and is def not waterproof -I don't like having to stick it back in the container and shake it to get more I used this up by wearing it at night time with an eyeshadow look because even though I didn't put shadow on top of it to set it, it seemed to help that I was putting it on top of the eyeshadow I was already wearing. Plus it's a shorter period of time than my average workday.

Lipstick -Maybelline - Moisture Extreme - Nude Blush ] [DISCONTINUED]
alisha546 5/18/2010 3:18:00 AM
It's moisturizing but it clings to dry spots. It's not very pigmented and doesn't really show up. I have tinted lip balm that shows up better. It does smell good and it's expensive. The packing is...eh. Maybe I would buy a different color.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Chamomile
alisha546 1/1/2010 7:15:00 PM
This eye shadow is VERY pigmented. I have NW20 skin and it did show up however it just seemed to look very yellow. Almost like a yellow version of brule. I should have expected this though however I just am not sure exactly how useful this color would be to most people. On some I'm sure it would just look awful. On me it was okay.

Moisturizers -Clinique - Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion
alisha546 10/4/2009 9:12:00 AM
I know this is some people's HG and it does moisturize but to me is very greasy and clogs my pores-BREAKOUT. This formula is still like 1960 when they first put it out. That being said, it is lacking in anti-oxidents, skin identical ingredients, cell communicating, anti-irritants, etc. I prefer the gel version which is good but is still lacking some beneficial ingredients. My derm recommended Olay regenerist line so I might try the frag free next.
