Mascara -Maybelline - Volum' Express The Mega Plush

I had been using Maybelline's Colossal mascara, but I was interested in a product with a fuller brush for some softer volume. When I saw the Mega Plush mascara, I thought it would be perfect! However, after using the mega plush for a few weeks, I am extremely disappointed. The "flexor brush" may as well be called a bouncy brush. It makes application extremely difficult to control because the wand is unstable. I have already poked myself in the eyes several times because of its wiggling and bouncing as I try to apply mascara from root to tip. At best, it's a nuisance. At worst, it is dangerous. Furthermore, the "gel-mousse" formula was supposed to be softer and less brittle. I did not really notice a difference in softness of my lashes, but I did notice that the new formula is NOT washable. The packaging promised that this gel-mousse mascara would be removable with soap and water. However, every time I attempt to wash it off, it leaves a smudgy black mess under my eyes and all over my cheeks that can only be removed with an expensive make up remover and an ample amount of q-tips. Oftentimes there is still a buildup of some sort of residue on my lashes as well. I have noticed that my lashes are falling out as I try to get this residue gunk off! I desperately wish I could go back to my trusty colossal. However, I am a student on a tight budget and I cannot afford to replace products before they run out.
