BB Cream -Lumene - Vitamin C+ Illuminating Anti-Age BB Cream

Loving this so far. I wanted something lighter than traditional foundation for the summer months. The shade medium seems to warm up nicely to my tan skin tone. I do go over this with my glominerals pressed powder foundation to set it & matte my t zone. Together it's perfect coverage without feeling too heavy. I have some acne scarring & dark spots & it covers them very well. I will say it doesn't hold up well in heat. I wore it out in the heat & it completely melted off where my sunglasses were. It was totally obvious, and that's my only major complaint.

Moisturizers -Murad - Oil-Control Mattifier
alicia14787 9/19/2012 3:36:00 PM
I was hopeful this would be the answer to my oily skin prayers.....unfortunately it wasn't. I got a sample of this from Sephora, it lasted me approx 5 days, so I feel that I gave this a good try. It's a mattifier, it should work right away, right? My face would be matte right away, however about 2 hours later I was an oily mess as I usually am about 2 hours after applying my makeup. Essentially it made no difference. For the price, this product should AT LEAST keep me matte for a few hours. I highly advise anyone to try a sample before buying, based on reviews it seems to work for some people but not all. So make sure you try it before spending the $40.

Crème -Revlon - ColorStay Whipped Creme Makeup

So I guess I'm the minority here but I didn't like this foundation at all. I returned it. For one the container, it's so unsanitary unless you use a spatula every time. Also, the foundation itself settles into every pore making them SO noticeable. Yes, it was light on the skin, but I didn't care for the finish at all. It was very matte, but I'd get oily after a few hours, pores looked huge, and th foundation started to transfer and rub off. I suppose it wasn't terrible but to me it wasn't special either.

Loose Powders -Ben Nye - Bella Luxury Powder: Banana (formerly known as Visage Poudre Luxury Powder)

The best loose setting powder out there, and it's so cheap, such a steal! It sets foundation beautifully and gives a lovely glow. I used it on my wedding day with Make Up Forever's HD foundation and it looked amazing in real life and pictures. It doesn't keep my oil in check all day but I have yet to find anything that does, so I won't hold that against it.

Liquid -Clinique - Even Better Makeup SPF 15
alicia14787 8/28/2012 3:15:00 PM
Yes this foundation provides amazing coverage but it's not worth all of the bad aspects it has to it. For one it turned me into an orange oil slick within a few hours. I tried multiple application techniques and multiple shades, this foundation just didn't work for me. It made me so oily, and it oxidized terribly! No matter what shade I got, it always turned orange. Not to mention it feels like a mask....and for whatever reason when I would try to apply powder to help with all the oil the foundation would turn gray, and I tried multiple powders too. I know it was the foundation and powder reacting because I would only apply powder to my oily spots, like my forehead and the next thing I knew I had a big gray blotch in these areas. Yuck! I'll give it 1, just because it has good coverage. Maybe this would be better suited for people with normal or dry skin. Get a sample from the Clinique counter before buying!

Foundations -Make Up For Ever - HD High Definition Foundation
alicia14787 8/28/2012 3:06:00 PM
I don't understand why this foundation has such a low rating. I will say this, Yes, I get oily after a few hours and need to blot, however that happens to me with ANY foundation I use. For those who complain about coverage, this foundation can be easily layered for more coverage. I use a stippling brush and do a "once over", then go back and will add more foundation where I need it. It layers b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l-l-y. It looks like skin, not like you caked on makeup. Apply with the Real Techniques stippling brush and set it with Ben Nye's Banana Powder and you'll be set. I wore this for my wedding day and it photographs amazingly. I looked flawless in pictures with or without flash. Anytime I wear this people compliment me on how beautiful my skin looks. I've never worn this on a daily basis so I can't comment on breakouts, I save it for special events and nights out. Also, to help with the oil, before applying powder to set the foundation, I press a tissue all over my face, then apply the powder. Overall a great foundation!

Liquid -Estee Lauder - Double Wear (old formula)
alicia14787 8/28/2012 2:58:00 PM
First let me start by saying this product covers like no other and that is a huge pro for me since I have acne scarring, dark spots, uneven skin tone, etc. Another pro is that this foundation doesn't turn me into an oil slick, or perhaps it controls oil better? I'm not sure but I certainly don't have to blot as much and I've never looked in the mirror and freaked out about what an oily mess I look like. That said, this foundation can be a bit drying. I started a topical prescription for acne and when I paired it with this foundation my skin peeled terribly, however when I used my acne medication with other foundations I didn't have this issue. Also this foundation gives you a terrible white cast in pictures! It's certainly not fit for wedding day makeup. It does last through my work day but just barely, around the time I get home I notice my foundation has worn off in some areas and it starts to get that terrible oily shine. I also have a hard time finding my shade, it's either too dark or too light, or too orange or too pink. I have to mix colors to get my match. All in all this is a good foundation, not perfect, but good.
