Tinted Moisturizer -Laura Mercier - Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20 - Oil Free
rated 4 of 5

After using up 3 little sample tubs of this tinted moisturizer, I finally took the plunge and purchased the full size for a little birthday treat. My all time favorite base! It leaves a natural finish and lasts really well on my skin. It covers redness well on my skin, but doesn't cover blemishes. I didn't expect it to anyways, that's what concealer is for! I top it with a powder and it lasts beautifully on my skin. Since I only just bought the full size, I can't say much on the packaging, but how bad can a squeeze tube be? (Then again...the tester at Sephora looked pretty worse for wear) Anyways, I adore this tinted moisturizer, a staple in my makeup bag!

Blush -MAC - Melba
rated 4 of 5

A peachy pink, leaning more towards peach. I guess a melon shade? It is matte, which is great because I have highlighters that I need to get using and I only use them with matte blushes. A shimmery blush and highlighter would make me look like a disco ball. Anyways, it is a natural shade but it is a little more unique than the typical pink blush.

Bronzers -NARS - Laguna
rated 5 of 5

I have this bronzer in the Orgasm/Laguna duo and I loooove it! I purchased Benefit Hoola in a full size and let me tell you....I regret it! Hoola is alright, but Laguna is just amaaaazing. When I dust Laguna on or below my cheekbones, I get a ebeautiful bronze glow or a slight contour, respectively, that looks natural even with the sheen. Hoola on the other hand, looks muddy. Maybe I'm applying too much... maybe my heart belongs to Laguna...or maybe Laguna is the superior bronzer! I will buy the full size when I finish the duo.

Pressed Powders -MAC - Mineralize Skinfinish Natural - Medium
rated 4 of 5
alextuthreefour 4/25/2013 1:51:00 PM

I love this powder because it takes away the shine without being too matte. Just like the name implies, it is super natural! It has pretty decent coverage and I can use just this powder with concealer. My only downside is the fact that there is no mirror! If it did...it would be my all time favorite powder!

Lipstick -Revlon - Juicy Papaya Lip Butter
rated 4 of 5
alextuthreefour 4/22/2013 10:50:00 PM

First off, the majority of my lip products are mauve-y nude pinks, so I am trying to branch out a bit. I thought a nice coral-peach lip would be great for spring/summer. I didn't want to splurge on a lippie, because I doubt I'll wear it too often and I was already familiar with the great formula/quality of the Revlon Lip Butters, so I decided to go with Juicy Papaya. It is sheer but buildable which is great for color newbies. I detect a sweet scent that the original lip butters didn't have. I did try the Revlon Lip Butter in Peach Parfait and I loved the color, but I couldn't stand the shimmer...Anyways! Juicy Papaya is a great first step for those trying out the coral/peach lip trend.

Mascara -Cover Girl - Lash Blast Clump Crusher mascara
rated 4 of 5
alextuthreefour 4/4/2013 3:55:00 PM

I think this mascara is the baby of Maybelline The Falsies and Covergirl LashBlast. It has the short rubber bristles of LashBlast and the curved brush of The Falsies. I also really like that the brush is smaller than the two others. I have small eyes and I think this fits perfectly. I use waterproof and there are no smudges. You can really build up the lashes with this and just like the name implies, there are no clumps. Really like it and will continue to repurchase until I find a better one.

Brows -E.L.F. - Eyebrow Kit
rated 5 of 5
alextuthreefour 3/25/2013 12:32:00 AM

Ah, eyebrows. You shall be the death of me. I have very sparse, unruly eyebrows that take ages to grow. It seems the only hairs growing are the ones way up on my forehead or on my eyelid (Dramatization as they aren't really that far up my forehead or eyelid). Hairs in the correct spots never seem to grow, so they definitely need filling in and this little $3 kit does the trick! I was eyeing Benefit Browzings as this girl I know has the most amazing eyebrows and swears by it, but since I am, as my boyfriend likes to say, "ballin' on a budget", I decided to try this kit out instead. The packaging is great. Slim, black, and sturdy with a mirror ( a little small, but it will do). It has a very similar set up to the Browzings, with a dark wax and a lighter powder. It also has a litte dual-ended brush with an angled liner brush-type side and a flat shader brush- type side. First, I brush through my horrid eyebrows with a spoolie, thenI use the angled side with the wax to set an outline, kind of. The waxy texture helps keep the hairs in place. I also the wax to add length to the ends of my brows because they are a bit short. Then with the flat shader brush side I use the powder to actually fill in. Set with an eyebrow gel, and bam! Great eyebrows.

Eye Shadow -Stila - Kitten
rated 3 of 5
alextuthreefour 3/14/2013 11:30:00 PM

Agghh! I want to love Kitten, I really do, but I just don't. Now, I love a good shimmery eyeshadow. I just think this particular shade looks like I have a frosty white shadow all over my lid. However, I didn't dock off lippies for that reason, because it will definitely be gorgeous on other people with a lighter skin tone. I did, however, knock down some lippies because of the darn packaging! The eyeshadow itself has cracked twice and I've had to bring it back to life. I wish Stila still made the cardboard ( i think?) silver packaging because this slim black thing isn't working. The buttery eyeshadow is so easily cracked and the packaging itself is falling apart. Now, Kitten is a very pretty color with a very nice pigmented formula, but the packaging and shade aren't for me.

Makeup Brushes -Real Techniques by Samantha Chapman - Blush Brush
rated 5 of 5
alextuthreefour 3/9/2013 1:08:00 AM

I LOVE THIS BRUSH! I just can't bring myself to purchase expensive brushes (MAC, Sigma, etc) but I was getting pretty tired of my shedding ELF brush. To be fair...that brush lasted me a long time and I think it is great for the money. Anyways! This Real Techniques brush...oh baby I am in love! I got a couple on a BOGO half off at Ulta and this brush and the buffing brush (from the Core Collection) are my favorite. This egg-shaped brush is great for powder, blush, bronzer, highlighter, even cream products if you're desperate. I do have the multitask brush, but I actually think this brush is much better for multitasking. The tapered end helps powder near the nose and under the eyes and works great for contouring and blush. It is also extremely soft. I LOVE IT!

Foundations -Revlon - Nearly Naked Foundation
rated 4 of 5
alextuthreefour 3/9/2013 1:01:00 AM

I actually really enjoy this foundation. Now...for shade reference, I'm absolutely no help. I recently went to MAC and they matched me to NW25 (i think it is too dark) so I'm kind of clueless as to what shade I am (apparently so was the lady at MAC) For this Revlon Nearly Naked foundation I use the shade Nude and I think it works. I love a lightweight sheer coverage foundation, and this definitely fits the bill. Lightweight feeling on the skin and just enough coverage to even out skin tone. Obviously if you're looking for a full coverage don't get a foundation named Nearly Naked, but if you're looking for just enough coverage to even out your skin, this is great. It is buildable, but i usually just dab concealer on discoloration and under the eyes, set with a bit of MAC's MSFN and I'm out the door. Lasts well, even better with a primer. Overall, I'm really happy!

Makeup Brushes -E.L.F. - Studio Powder Brush
rated 5 of 5

Very versatile and inexpensive! This brush can be used for liquid foundation, cream blush, bronzer, powder, anything! When you clean it, be sure to hold it down to prevent water from loosening the glue! Then again, it is only 3 dollars so it won't set you back too much if you ruin it and have to buy a new one!

Lipstick -Maybelline - Color Whisper
rated 4 of 5
alextuthreefour 1/18/2013 3:35:00 AM

Now that Maybelline has come out with their version of a sheer, glossy lipstick, I had to give it a go because sheers are my fav! I have the shades Lust for Blush and A Plum Prospect and I'm happy to report that I like them both. Lust For Blush is a nice pinky nude and A Plum Prospect is a sheer plum, lovely! Their lasting power isn't fantastic, but I personally prefer a sheer average-lasting lipstick that is comfortable to wear as opposed to a pigmented long-lasting one that is drying and uncomfortable. Although I can only speak for the two I own, I really like 'em and it seems there should be a shade for everyone!

Concealers -NYX - HD Photogenic Concealer Wand
rated 4 of 5
alextuthreefour 1/5/2013 8:06:00 PM

I like this concealer. I bought it on a whim one day, and actually ended up repurchasing it. I've been on the hunt for the perfect concealer, and while I wouldn't classify this as perfect, it is pretty good! I like to think of this as the Collection 2000 Lasting Perfecting Concealer of the U.S. I have heard British gurus RAVE about that concealer, and I, sadly, cannot get my hands on it. I think this concealer is a nice alternative (then again I have never tried the Collection 2000) because they are both full coverage and affordable!

Lipstick -MAC - Patisserie
rated 5 of 5
alextuthreefour 1/5/2013 8:01:00 PM

Personally, my favorite MAC lipstick. I'm actually quite new to MAC (the makeup artists there intimidate me)--but this summer I mustered up the courage and went in to purchase a lippie (Patisserie) and a blush (Warm Soul). Since then, I've acquired 3 more lipsticks, but Patisserie is still my favorite! I wanted a nice warm mauvy pink that was sheer. I didn't want Creme Cup or Angel because they seemed a little too blue-toned and Barbie pink for me and I wanted it to be sheer because I personally love sheer lippies, they are comfy on my lips, don't accentuate dryness, and the color can be built up. I love MAC packaging, simple and sleek. And the price isn't too cringe-worthy. Still about ten dollars cheaper than other high end makeup such as tarte and NARS. All in all, a beatiful, yet wearable pink color :D!
