Treatments -Burt's Bees - Baby Bee Diaper Ointment

A life saver. I have a life long battle with a psoriasis path on my left foot for my whole life and the first time I tried using this. The peeling improved significantly. Sometimes I still have to apply a treatment oil before applying this ointment but it definitely made a significant improvement on my psoriasis. I feel if I continue using this for a year. The patch will all be a thing of the past! PS. Don't forget to frequently exfoliate psoriasis patches well before moisturizing! Scratching aggravates the condition despite the fact that it feels like you are exfoliating the psoriasis area by aggressively scaling off the dead skin layers; It is just NOT the same! Oh it helped with my mom's rash too when she had it a month ago.
Treatments -Estee Lauder - Re-Nutriv Ultimate Lift Age-Correcting Serum

I use the Re-creation set at night and use this serum in the day. I can definitely see a difference in my pore size, smoothness and overall radiance of my skin when using this serum as compared to not using it. My skin definitely feel a lot more comfortable and soothed with this on too. FYI. The brightening version that is available in Asia is a totally different formulation from the original and serve a totally difference purpose because when I compared the ingredients list. They are like apples and oranges. I certainly didn't expect that. So if you are more into anti-aging than say simple brightening get the original one with the dark top!
Treatments (Eye) -Estee Lauder - Re-Creation Eye Balm and Night Serum for Eyes
alexplot 9/14/2012 6:02:00 AM
I am giving this combo a bad review chiefly for the texture and the fact that I think I have received a defect product. The balm has some mystery gritty bits inside. As I have this product delivered all the way from NYC to Asia there is no way of returning it. The performance of eye eye cream is great as in it does what it is suppose to do like eliminating lines etc.... But it takes like a millennium for either of the products to absorb and I don't think there are any advantages of using this eye combo over just using the face cream and oil combo over your eyes. And like the face cream combo I abhor the packaging. It is fiddly, unsanitary, inconvenient and wasteful. BTW I just found out that giving yourself an eye and crania massage as often as you can really helps eliminate dullness and dark circles. Give that a try!
This is my staple as a hand and foot cream I slather on before bedtime. I started using this cream as a base for my DIY body cream and it worked like a charm to reduce irritations from using strong actives like idebenone and alpha lipoic acid, enhancing their effects and at the same time deleting dryness. The technology behind this cream is sound, proven and works in real life ! Not to mention that the price is dirt cheap as well. I would improvise and add antioxidants along with a couple of anti-aging actives if I were to use it by itself though. It is just that good a base cream for homemade potions.
Lotions/ Creams -Estee Lauder - Re Nutriv Intensive Smoothing Body Creme
alexplot 8/21/2012 12:06:00 PM
I used two jars of this stuff last yr. It was quite moisturizing but I think it caused the rashes on my elbows, the scent was average and I would much prefer a pump bottle instead. I think I just react to most of the older generation re nutriv because the new generation face products really works great on me. The creme really deserves an update! It has been so many yrs since its launch.
Skincare - Face -Estee Lauder - RE‑NUTRIV RE-CREATION FACE CREME AND NIGHT SERUM

One word. Miracle!!!! I am so glad I got Bergdorf to ship this over to Asia - it's still not available in this side of the world yet. I had used the Re-Creation line before namely the older night cream and was quite impressed but the new version is beyond words. The oil serum is incredibly light in texture but once my face has fully absorbed it I can feel my skin literally exploding with moisture. The cream is equally well performing as well, as light in texture as the old version but the current version transforms into a soothing balm once massaged onto skin. Within just few days of using my pores has shrunken into near invisibility. In fact I have gotten compliments from my sister on how my skin looked from just a night of application. All in all I think I made great decision in replacing my 3 yr staple Sisley sumpremya night cream and Darphin 8-flower nectar oil with this combo. Also do note that I only use this cream at night because I don't require a moisturizer in the day. The only and biggest of this product duo is in the packaging. Utterly wasteful!!! What's with the acrylic base, oversized gold paper box and foam protection that comes with?! Hello!!! And Estee lauder ought to have packaged the serum and cream in pump forms where it will be much more sanitary and practical, you only need such a minute amount of the products that the risk of over-application with traditional pipette and spatula methods is very high. I know attractive packaging sells but what about global warming?! Does anyone care about things other than the bottom line anymore?!
Hate the packaging but simply in the with the performance. The applicator can be improved with the use of softer fibers. However, I must say that I had apprehensions when this product from the very beginning, now that I have used it off and on for the last couple of months my lashes are dramatically longer and fuller now. Another qualm I have about it is that the formula do cos my eyes to burn a little.
I really like this cleanser. I prefer this to the Darphin balm cleanser that I have been using before. Performance wise, they are of the same league. Cosmetically, Daprhin has a distinct edge over the Ren because it is a lot less greasy and smells better. But I feel the Ren is a more nutritive and healthier option than the Darphin because it uses no petrochemicals; the same cannot be said for the Darphin. I advise everyone who is battling with skin clogs and sensitivity to switch to balm cleansers. My skin is incredibly clear now ever since I changed all of my cleansers to non-foaming ones. Edit: Stopped using cleansing balms. Pre-cleansing with a cleansing oil couple with a gentle amino acid based cleanser does the shop equally well without the oily greasy mess you get with balms.
Treatments -Jan Marini - Age Intervention Regeneration Booster

Love love love this serum. A little rich for a product of its type but works like a charm. Dramatically boosted my anti-aging regiment. The texture of my skin improved by quite a measure after just two weeks. Not anywhere near expensive when compared to other alternatives out there. Let's hope there will be more products that targets the DNA aging process like this one does.
Lotions/ Creams -NIA 24 - Sun Damage Repair for Hands
alexplot 12/3/2009 1:10:00 AM
I have been using this every night before I go to bed everyday for over a yr and I must say that the skin on my hands seem a lot denser than before so it is working but then again my hands don't really have anything much to work on. I would have just used it based on the science alone.
Sunscreen -NIA 24 - Sun Damage Prevention 100% Mineral Sunscreen
alexplot 12/3/2009 1:08:00 AM
I can't believe I haven't reviewed this. The Nia 24 sunscreen is the only sunscreen that I have religiously used for over a yr. I like that it is way cheaper than Chanel's and Clarins' which do practically nothing. I feel that my skin is definitely denser after using it for this long. At my age I am really looking at maintenance and prevention more than anything else but I have received comments that I look younger than 2yrs before.
Two days into using it and I feel a difference on my skin already. This cream reminds me of the Estee Lauder recreation night cream ( a lovely cream I have been using for 2 yrs btw) I was using right before except that it has a better texture and packaging. Most anti-aging creams are not meant to be really moisturizing, they are meant to fight aging, So you can't expect superb nourishment from an anti-aging cream so what I do is that I use a face oil ( Darphin 8 flower nectar) under it. This halves the amount you would use if you are using this like a regular moisturizer which you really shouldn't because you will be throwing money down the drain. I only use a pump on my face and a pump on my neck. And that's more than sufficient. I feel that my skin is much smoother, softer and more refined than a few days ago. So it is definitely working. So far so good. I will update you guys on the progress. One week into using it. My pores are almost invisible and I feel that my skin appear a lot tighter and smoother. Only real caveat about this cream is its moisturizing power - it is not as moisturizing as the Estee LAuder Re-creation night cream. But then again, Sisley didn't mention anywhere in the box that this will give your skin deep hydration or anything along that line, what it did mention was the promise of a restructured skin and I am beginning to see that already. FYI, yesterday I accidentally left the 3 min peel from La Prairie on my face for too long, instead of the usual 5-10 mins - the length of time I usually leave the peel on, I left it on for more than 30 mins. And I had no adverse reactions on my face like I normally would have if I left a peel or masque on for too long. Instead, I just woke up with a very nice smooth visage. Three weeks into using. The sisley do show a dramatic capability to reduce signs of aging. Biggest qualm is that instead of being a moisturizer, it is more like a a treatment serum. Because I find it quite drying despite having slathered on a layer of Darphin oil underneath it. I recommend trying the cream in the summer instead. but all in all Sisley is delivering what it promised. Way better than most high-end creams IMHO. It is really anti-aging and not just giving an illusion of it. My skin is looking way younger than before; I just returned to asia from NYC after three months and everyone thought I look younger than they last saw me. I guess I just have to deal with the drying side effects till I find a better anti-aging cream.
Cleansers -Darphin - Aromatic Cleansing Balm with Rosewood
alexplot 11/22/2009 6:26:00 PM
Love love this cleanser. I only use it at night and find the cleansing power to be super powerful but instead of stripping the skin, the cleanser leaves skin soft and well protected. Highly recommended. Edit. 10/1/10 I will like to add that although the cleanser leaves a film on skin, my skin no longer has blackhead issues (first time since prepuberty) and never shines in the day anymore. Bravo Darphin!
My skin is a mess right now. After moving from humid SIngapore climate to dry chilly New York, my skin is dry and hyper sensitive and dealing with copious amounts of breakouts. Changing my usual LaMer gel cleanser to this soothing milk cleanser made me realize that a cleanser doesn't have to be harsh to do the job. I love how comfortable the milk goes on and how soft my skin feels when it is washed off. My skin is overall much calmer now albeit still breakout prone. I am now in the process of overhauling my whole skincare regime to suit the new climate. One caveat I have for the cleansing milk is that you have to use quite a bit to spread on your face and neck or it would be too dry to work with.
Best skincare oil period. I have been using this on and off, and whenever I use it my skin will be in its most dewy and healthy state. The reason why I am skeptical about using this long term is because it works too well : all I had to use was one drop on face ad two drops on neck and all of my problems are solved, dryness breakouts etc... I did a little bit of research on the contents of the oil and found out that the Iris extract might be the ingredient that is doing all the work: It is said to swell up the skin cells and mask all the flaws you got. Be the effect may be just cosmetic, I just realize that I can't live without it. It is addictive!
