Fragrances -Comme des Garcons - Series 4 - Vettiveru
alabasterkitten 8/15/2008 7:53:00 PM
Vettiveru is about the most perfect rendition of vetiver I have ever smelled. I love vetiver in many forms, but this is an extremely crisp vetiver with no citrus getting in the way of its fresh intensity. Good lasting power on me, and the vibrancy of this didn't fade with the drydown as many vetiver scents can. Almost like a vetiver version of Bulgari's The Vert.

I LOVE this scent. It's a very smoky, deep and intense vetiver - with juniper and cypress. The opening is intensely smoky, but fades quickly to a very woodsy vetiver. This lasts hours on me. It's Encre Noire's smoky, earthier cousin.

Fragrances -L'Artisan Fragrances - Tea for Two

I love many creations of L'Artisan, and this was the first one that I thought was really a bomb - nothing but dank and overwhelming spices. This constantly made my nose itch and smelled too strong for me to enjoy, almost like chai mix concentrate. It smelled like a poor imitation of Noir Epices by Frederick Malle.

Fragrances -Givenchy - Organza Indecence

This is a very warm and comforting woodsy vanillic incense scent. It's standing on the edge of gourmand, yet is good enough that I love it despite my gourmand-phobia. It is a strong scent, and intensely sweet and warming. Unfortunately, it's not the easiest to find and the bottle is weighted oddly so it tips over easily.

Fragrances -Christian Dior - Poison

This is a great currant-y cold as ice oriental. One spritz is enough for an elephant, however, so it must be applied sparingly - overapplication will utterly ruin it. I feel like it's only appropriate in the winter, for some reason. It's sweet, feminine, and strong!

Fragrances -Comptoir Sud Pacifique - Amour de Cacao

I got an entirely too strong sweet dark chocolate from this, that was so entirely overwhelming I couldn't wash my hands of it for hours. It's an intense gourmand, and perhaps it might be good for that sort of thing, but I am not a big fan of foody scents, so for me it struck out.

About the sweetest vanilla that I can stand without feeling ill, it has a touch of spice and slight creaminess that tames it, but I still find it overwhelmingly strong.

Moisturizers -Yves Rocher - Riche Creme Wrinkle-Smoothing Night Cream

Recieved it free with another order.... Didn't have a use for it as I'm oily and acne prone but the sudden severe below freezing windy weather has left me with a touch of eczema and this has worked surprisingly well to ease it immediately upon application, redness eased as well!

Skincare - Face -Estee Lauder - Advanced Night Repair Concentrate

Whoever said this product is cheap with cheap ingredients either didn't use this product as directed or didn't use it for the full time period. This is an amazing, incredible product - worth the $85 price tag undoubtedly. I too am 21 and don't really have concern with signs of aging but this makes my face incredibly radiant and flawless with no makeup, reduces sensitivity, smoothes, retexturizes, and heals amazingly. Balanced out my SUPER incredibly combination (flaky and VERY oily) skin. HOWEVER let it be known that you HAVE to use 2 dropper fulls on your face every night or you will NOT get the full benefits - I did not know this at first and didn't get the full results!!!

All I could think of when I smelled this was a drunken harlot who had spilled a screwdriver on herself. Yuck.

Mascara -Chanel - Inimitable Mascara Multi-Dimensionnel

I love this. I've been through Prescriptives, Estee Lauder, Lancome, and Benefit mascaras and I like this one the best. Second best thing to fake eyelashes. I do use the Estee Lauder lash primer under it which prevents transferring or smudging on my face during my 14 hour days and it gives me tons of volume.

Eye Shadow -Estee Lauder - Pure Color Eyeshadow Sugar Cube
alabasterkitten 8/11/2006 11:25:00 AM
The new packaging and eyeshadow formula is impeccable, and for $17.50 it's an incredible eyeshadow, one of my HGs. Highly pigmented, stays with you all day, and a flat reinforced case makes this a great improvement on the previous watered down plastic cube eyeshadows.

Bronzers -Estee Lauder - Amber Bronze Sienna Earth Powder

This is the only bronzer I can wear. I'm extremely fair and it's just perfect for a natural sunkissed cheek look or an all over bronzed look. I've tried clarins, Prescriptives, estee lauder, lancome, and benefit, and this is the only bronzer I would ever use, period.
