BB Cream -Stila - Stay All Day 10-in-1 HD Beauty Balm
aishatherese 7/31/2012 11:27:00 AM
At first I was disappointed because I was expecting a true BB cream with coverage, anti-aging benefits, etc...but this is not that at ALL. What it is, IMO, is a great foundation primer for normal to oily skin. It has lots of treatment benefits, goes on smooth and refreshing, keeps the skin matte, and helped my foundation last much longer! The packaging is kinda bulky for my taste, but all in all, it's a nice product that I will continue to use, just think they should market it or name it differently to better perform up to the customer's expectation.

Moisturizers -Kose - Junkisui
aishatherese 5/16/2011 10:01:00 PM
I have oily/combo skin and unlike some of the other reviewers with similar skintypes, I actually really like this moisturizer. Yes, it is a pain that there is no pump, but the packaging otherwise is really nice. I just shake a little bit into my palm (and only a little bit comes out at a time, so no waste in my experience). It's really smooth and light so it spreads evenly and absorbs quickly - though not so quickly that you end up feeling dry. That's one thing I dislike about most moisturizers for oily skin: they are so light that you don't feel hydrated enough. This is the perfect balance.

Blush -Stila - One Step PrimeColor in Capri Coral
aishatherese 5/12/2011 10:41:00 AM
I think this is one of the best blush options that Stila has come out with in a long time. It offers the cream finish, no-brush application that everyone loves - BUT it's way more sheer and easier to apply than the convertible color. (BTW I love convertible color, but this offers an option to those who find it too concentrated/intense to blend OR for those who prefer a more matte finish than the CC gives) Capri Coral is a pretty pinky coral, kinda similar to NARS Deep Throat. Slight shimmer that's almost imperceptible. I wear it on the apples of my cheeks and on the lips with a clear gloss on top. So pretty! The best part of the product, IMO is the fact that it's kinda powdery feeling once you blend it in, so it's easier to apply on top of drier foundation.

Mascara -Bare Escentuals - buxom lash
aishatherese 4/20/2010 6:19:00 PM
I love the rich deep blue color of this mascara, looks awesome on the lashes without being over the top blue. It applies thin, and is easy to build to your desired volume. My problem, however, is that after just an hour or so, it smudges everywhere!! I had crazy blue runoff all over my eyes :( I really wanted to love this, but unfortunately it is going back to the store.

Bronzers -Jouer - Suntan
aishatherese 2/16/2010 10:39:00 AM
Awesome bronzer by Jouer. True matte bronzer with a silky fine-milled texture that's pretty pigmented so I would suggest using a softer, looser brush as opposed to a dense kabuki. The color is like a matte version of NARS laguna, kinda yellow-based brown, so it looks really sunny and natural for me (NC35, tan-complexion asian) with no red or pinky tones at all. I also love that it's a smaller-sized bronzer that fits great in the purse either alone or snapped into a Jouer palette. It has a nice long mirror and all in all is a very sleek-looking item.

Blush -Jouer - All Over Color in Fawn
aishatherese 2/16/2010 10:17:00 AM
This is a smooth, light-textured cream tint...it's pretty sheer on the cheeks, but gives a nice glowy look. Personally, I prefer slightly drier-feeling cream blushes like Becca or Bobbi Pot Rouge, but this is nice for those who are new to cream blush and need something more mistake-proof. The color is a translucent coral/orange that does not have too much peach or pink. I am NC35 and find it to be a little under-pigmented for me, though now in the winter I can get away with it. Cute, practical, and innovative packaging, I love how you can click and mix and match you palettes, it'd adorable. The compact is a shiny brown smooth plastic square w small mirror inside. I got this as part of a kit during a special sale, so I must say that for the price, it was a great purchase, though I am not sure if I would have bought it regular price.

Brows -Shu Uemura - Eyebrow Gel
aishatherese 9/25/2009 1:37:00 PM
Shu's new eyebrow gel (released Aug 2009) is a waterproof cream brow color. It comes in a little glass pot just like the gel liners, but with frosted glass. I used to use Sound Black in the hard pencil, so since that has been discontinued I decided to try this in Forest Black. Applied with a small angled badger brush, it releases medium to sheer color into the brows. What I like about it is that the dryish formula it gives a nice precise application like their pencil, lots of control, but also gives a blendable natural effect that you would normally get from a powder. The color is a soft back, no warm tones at all. The Seal Brown version is also great, applies almost identical to the pencil version. This is purely a color product, it does not shape or set the brows in the way that a traditional brow wax or gel would. So if you want control you would have to use a second product separately. All in all, a great new style of product for those who love to emphasize and define their brows.

Makeup Brushes -Everyday Minerals - Eye Kabuki Brush
aishatherese 12/4/2008 10:57:00 AM
Fabulous brush for an awesome price! I use the eye kabuki to apply and blend my EM Concealer and honestly it makes all the difference in the world. When using this brush, my powder concealer works better than my cream concealer! The bamboo handle is cute and the overall design of the brush makes it comfy and fun to work with. I think EM has really done a great job with their brushes!

Eyeliner -mark - Pop In Color Eyeliner
aishatherese 8/20/2007 10:35:00 AM
This is a nice, basic gel liner for everyday wear IMO. These Pop In liners are designed to be snapped into a palette, but I just use mine separately since I like the lightweight, simple black plastic packaging. Its comes Chocolate Pop and Ebony Pop. I bought Ebony, a true black. The formula is actually very nice: smooth and fluid, easy to layer, and long-wearing. It's not as opaque as some HE gel liners I have used, so you might need to do a couple layers. For 5 bucks it a great little liner! EDIT....after a couple weeks this dried out like crazy. maybe it does better if actually used in the kit. watch out!! Pic Below http://shop.meetmark.com/shop/assets/images/prod/PROD_1041726_LG.gif

Eye Shadow -Unlisted Brand - Nixie Mineral Shadow: Gem
aishatherese 8/17/2007 12:15:00 PM
So Gem was one of the 6 colors that came in my free welcome kit from Nixie....in all honesty it isn't a color that I would have picked for myself but at any rate.... It's a very smooth light light lilac/pink shadow. On the website it says pink shimmer, but really the shimmer if so fine and so subtle that I would actually call it a glowing matte or a sheen. I applied it to my lids this AM, no primer, and I liked the way it blended easily and brightened up my eyes. I can see this being the perfect color for days when your eyes look kinda "blah." All in all, very nice shadow. I will continue to review as I try the others since there is not a lot of info about Nixie on MUA yet. Eye Shadow -Laura Geller - Eye Stay Duos
aishatherese 8/16/2007 9:05:00 AM
I got it a few months back as a Sephora freebie and basically dismissed it...today I decided to wear it and its awesome!!! I have the Mocha/Champagne duo. Both are cream shadows that dry down nicely, no tugging or streaking. Champagne is a sheer, elegantly-shimmered all over color, mocha is coppery brown (also fine shimmer) I wish this were a little more neutral, though...it's pretty warm. Good if you are actually going for a more Copper/bronze eye....not taupey/brown. I applied this AM, no base/no UDPP, and it's still looking good. No creasing on the humid August day. yay!

Eyes -Unlisted Brand - Nixie Ultra Pearl (Loose Pigment)
aishatherese 8/13/2007 9:01:00 AM
Wow, great product by Nixie....this pigment comes in a small shaker similar to MAC pigments, but taller and slimmer. The color selection in fabulous, lots of different finishes, the only downside is that for those of us who don't live in Southern CA, we need to judge color by the website swatches, which is sometimes pretty tricky. With that said, I started out by ordering Antares and Almond. The Antares is a larger-fleck pink/lilac shimmer. I like how this doesn't have the blue undertones that you usually find in pale lilacs, but rather a warmer pinky reflection..... Now, the Almond is hands down one of the best colors that I have ever bought!!!! It's a very finely-milled patina bronze that goes on gorgeous both dry and foiled. (Imagine Stila Golightly with less green...) I wore it out on Saturday night and it held up with no creasing whatsoever and stayed sparkly and vibrant. I highly recommend these Ultra Pearls to anyone who is a pigment lover!!

Lip Liners -Unlisted Brand - Nixie Auto Lipliner: Cranberry
aishatherese 8/6/2007 2:19:00 PM
This is a very creamy, ultra pigmented lip liner. Goes on smooth and has a nice, non-waxy texture. The packaging is simple. soft-touch black casing. The color is like a rich berry....a little cooler than what I would expect from "Cranberry" but gorgeous nonetheless.

Concealers -Everyday Minerals - Sunlight Color Corrector
aishatherese 7/12/2007 1:01:00 PM
I was a total skeptic on the whole MMU concealer thing...like how can a POWDER conceal as well as a creme? Weellllll....I got this in an EM starter kit, so it was super cheap, and I was so pleasantly surprised!!! It is a light, pale yellow that I use to conceal under eye circles and redness around the nose - AND IT REALLY WORKS! - Best of all it doesn't crease during the day like a cream. It is pretty yellow, so I just do a quick buff with my MMU foundation on top. Voila! Perfect.

Makeup Brushes -Everyday Minerals - New Flat Top Brush
aishatherese 7/11/2007 3:19:00 PM
Wow, what a great little brush!! I got this as part of a kit so it was super super cheap. Shorter black handle with a round barrel, soft white hairs cut flat on the top, (Like Stila's #21) but not as densely packed, so you get a nice, buildable coverage. This IMO is the perfect tool for applying MMU.
