Hair -Unlisted Brand - Proextensions 20" Clip-in Extensions

If you have naturally blonde or red hair then these will match your texture and volume. They are thin extensions, and kind of frail. For me, they are perfect, because that is my natural hair texture. I buy them to add highlights or lowlights, and a little length whenever I get a big haircut, but not to add a lot of thickness. For someone with thick brown Spanish or Asian hair these will probably be too thin. I have ordered from them 4 times. The last time my order was only a $25 set of bangs, but I still got free overnight shipping. I don't know if that was a mistake, or customer appreciation, but it made me very happy. I do have to criticize their colors though. I suggest only buying the highlighted blends. Those have always blended well into my hair. I once ordered the dark golden blonde extensions and they were closer to strawberry blonde than golden. They were a very pale apricot color that was lovely, but did not fit in with my blonde hair at all.

Lip Gloss -Clarins - Colour Quench Lip Balm - 04 Watermelon
rated 5 of 5

I don't actually know how much this cost because I stole it from my mom. This is the best colored gloss. It's shiny and nice and is so much more pigmented than I expected. I thought it was just going to be like juicy tubes, or everything else I'm familiar with, but it was a nice surprise to realize I could use this all alone without layers of color. I think I will try some more colors.

Primer/ Corrector -Colorescience - Soothing Smoothing Skin Brightening Line Tamer
rated 3 of 5
ahockenbrouch 5/18/2012 10:15:00 AM

This product smells really nice. It spreads on easily and I think I use less foundation when I use this primer. Other than that I don't think it does anything for me. I don't notice my skin being any brighter or fresher looking than normal. It definitely doesn't help with my facial lines, or fill in my pores. My foundation and concealer don't seem to last very long when I use this. I'm not sure why, but I seem to have a better final result without any primer at all. Maybe this is just the wrong one for my skin type.

Cleansers -DHC - Deep Cleansing Oil
rated 4 of 5
ahockenbrouch 5/18/2012 10:07:00 AM

This is one of my favorite cleansing oils. I think it emulsifies really well with warm water, removes makeup well, and rinses off my face leaving my skin feeling clean but supple, not stripped the way soap does. I stopped using this so I could buy the shu uemera purifying cleansing oil and that was a big mistake. The shu oil feels greasy in comparison and clogs my pores. There are still a few others I want to try before I go back to DHC, but I really like this one.

Concealers -NARS - Ginger

I love this product. This is the color I use when I am tan. I never used to be able to use dry concealers until I changed my foundation, but now that I use a moister formula on my face I really appreciate this product. Creamy concealers just slide right off my face and into my smile wrinkles. This product works perfectly. I swipe it on under my eyes, pat the edges with my fingertip to blend, and it stays put all day.

Blush -LORAC - Powder blush in Soul
rated 5 of 5

This may be a discontinued color, but I have this in Earth. I love it. I love the color, but I also love the blush. I use it as a blush when I tan, and it works nicely. I can blend it or layer it with other colors without it looking heavy or chalky. I contour my nose and under my chin with it to make my features appear sharper. I use it as eyeshadow sometimes, in the crease, and it looks very natural. I even used it a few times to enhance the color of my nipples when I was feeling saucy, and it looked pretty natural there too. TMI? Probably, but it proves my point about versatility.

Shampoo -Clairol - Shimmer Lights
rated 3 of 5
ahockenbrouch 5/18/2012 9:39:00 AM

This product works really well. I bleached my hair at home and left this on for 15 minutes when I washed out the bleach. It toned down the ends to the point where I didn't even need to use a hair color toner on them. The rest of my hair was more brassy than that, but I'm sure this will be invaluable for keeping my pale platinum blonde hair fresh. I probably won't buy another bottle of this brand again though because it smells really bad. It smells like cheap perfume and the smell is very strong. I can only imagine using it on days I stay home to clean. Also, the packaging is ugly and cheap looking. It needs to be hidden. Overall a great product, with a few small cosmetic updates it would be perfect.

Treatments -Schwarzkopf - Bonacure Total Repair Treatment
rated 5 of 5

I bleached my hair at home and bought this to help mend it afterward. It didn't feel like it did much at first, but I used it again 24 hours later and my hair felt a lot softer. Not soft like before the bleach, but definitely more pliable. I'm sure that by the end of the month, if I use it a few times a week, it will be noticeably improved.

Hair Color -Clairol - Professional - 7th Stage Cream Highlighter
rated 4 of 5
ahockenbrouch 5/18/2012 9:23:00 AM

This worked like a dream. I had level 7 auburn hair, almost to my waist, that I had been coloring with demi permanent colors over my natural blah blonde. I mixed up a batch of this stuff with 3 activator packets & 20 volume developer and left it on for about 30 minutes under a plastic shower cap. Then I mixed up another batch and added it to my roots for another 30 minutes under the shower cap. Presto chango my hair was the color of a banana. It worked perfectly. My hair did feel dry, but not overly damaged. I definitely recommend getting enough supplies for two batches if your hair is past your shoulder blades. I only got my second batch in case I needed to bleach twice, but I ended up using it. I also added 2 tablespoons of olive oil to it and still used every last drop. Luckily it bleaches so well I only needed to do it once.

Hair Color -Wella - Color Charm White Lady Toner
rated 2 of 5
ahockenbrouch 5/18/2012 9:09:00 AM

This product works all right. I bleached my hair, then washed with shimmer lights purple shampoo. I left that on for 15 minutes, then put the toner in for about 10 minutes. I STRONGLY recommend a porosity equalizer with this stuff. The ends of my hair were seriously purple for about a week. Now they are a kind of dull silver grey. The rest of my hair turned out exactly how I wanted, so I have to say the product works well. The mistake was my fault, I assumed my hair would be fine since I had just gotten a couple inches taken off the ends, but it was not. Learn from my lesson and make sure your hair is equally porous throughout. The reason I only gave this 3 stars and wouldn't buy it again is because it doesn't do anything for your hair except balance brassiness. The color is dull and flat. It gave my hair no shine or silkiness. In the future I will stick with lines from joico, schwartkopf, alfaparf, davines.... who sell violet correctors that can be mixed into their glossy colors or clear glosses. For anyone who doesn't have the same problem with dullness I do, this is a perfectly easy solution for perfect butter cream colored hair. **EDIT** only about two weeks, and maybe 5 or 6 washings later and the toner is completely gone. Now my hair is as brassy as when I washed the bleach out. I use very gentle, sulfate free shampoo and color preserving products. I haven't had this happen with another brand.

Eye Makeup Remover -Klorane - Soothing Eye Makeup Remover with Cornflower Sensitive Eyes
rated 4 of 5

I have been using this since I was a teenager. I think it's gentle, smells nice & works really well. It doesn't leave an oily film, or irritate my eyes like a lot of other eye makeup removers do.

Lotions/ Creams -Unlisted Brand - AmLactin 12%
rated 5 of 5
ahockenbrouch 5/9/2012 10:46:00 PM

This product works miracles. When I moved to new york my skin went to hell. It became so dry and itchy that I couldn't stop scratching it even though I was making myself bleed. I slathered myself with skin butters, oils, cortisone creams, anything I could get my hands on and this was the only thing that worked. It smells funny, but it exfoliates and moisturizes really well. Now my skin is back to its normal shiny healthy self again. It also helps make my feet soft, and I use it on my face now and then when my skin starts looking dull.

Shampoo -ABBA - Pure Moisture
rated 4 of 5
ahockenbrouch 5/9/2012 10:24:00 PM

I like the smell and the minty feeling of this shampoo. At first I didn't like the way my scalp felt after using it. Like others have said I didn't feel squeaky clean, in fact it seemed unclean and greasy. I don't feel that way any longer, and my hair feels silkier and less brittle so I don't have to use so many styling products. I'm glad I stuck it out.

Conditioner -A/G - Fast Food Leave On Conditioner
rated 4 of 5
ahockenbrouch 5/9/2012 10:02:00 PM

I bought this from ulta when they had a 1/2 off of liters sale. At first I didn't like it very much. I didn't think it did much, but I love the smell. Yes it smells childish, like candy, but it makes me happy. Well, this morning I forgot to condition my hair in the shower (duh!) so I ran a little dab of this stuff through the ends and it is fantastic. My hair is soft, swingy, and a little fuller. Plus, I can't stop smelling it. Maybe it's working better now because I just had a haircut, or maybe it just shouldn't be used on already conditioned hair.

I love these. They smell so natural and earthy, like you're actually outdoors. They also make my skin soft. The juniper and eucalyptus are both great for sore muscles. The lavender is amazing. I love them all though and I think you can't go wrong with any of them.
