Scrubs -Neutrogena - Oil-Free Acne Stress Control Power-Clear Scrub
agusia212 1/15/2010 10:25:00 PM
I picked this up because I wanted a 2% BHA cleanser/scrub for my blackheads problem. This fits the bill. It is creamy and gentle with a pleasant smell. I can use this scrub on the same night as my Retin-A and my skin feels OK; not stingy, raw or uncomfortable as with some other products I tried. It does not dry-out my skin or cause breakouts. I only use it in a shower because it is a hassle to get all the beads off in the sink. I'm not sure it is working for my clogged pores because I have been using a number of new products, all with the same intent, including Retin-A. But, I definitely recommend this as a gentle, non-drying or irritating scrub.

Cleansers -Aura Cacia - Grapeseed Oil
agusia212 1/15/2010 10:13:00 PM
I picked up a cometic grade grapeseed oil at Vitamin Shopee for around $5. My sisters loves to use it as a precleanse and urged me to try it for my blackheads and clogged pores. I have been using it for 2 weeks and I definitely see a difference in my skin, it is more hydrated with less blackheads; I'm not sure if that is attributed to the oil or using Retin-A again. However, I will continue to use because I feel my skin is more hydrated and not so dry and uncomfortable. I pour the oil on cottom pads and gently rub around my face, concentrating on my T-zone. Then, I let the oil sit on my face for around 10 min in the shower; when I'm done with everything else I wash my face with a regular cleanser or a gentle scrub.

Moisturizers -Dermalogica - Intensive Moisture Balance
agusia212 1/15/2010 9:56:00 PM
I've been using this lotion for 3 weeks and I believer it deserves a review. For years I was devoted to Eucerin Sensitive CoQ10, but this winter it gave me horrible blackheads and clogged pores. At the same time my face was dehydrated, dry and flaky from my Retin-A. I was desperate to find a mosturizer that would not clog my pores and provide moisture to get it back to normal. I tried Cerave lotion- it gave me mila. I tried Cetaphil lotion, it broke me out. I have combination skin, dry in the winter, easily congested with sensitive eyes. I went shopping and picked up a cosmetic grade Grapeseed oil as a precleanse (my sisters swears by it) and the Intensive Moisture Balance. This moisturizer does everything I want. Yes, it is expensive, but definitely worth it for me. It comes in a tube, which I like, no putting my fingers in a jar and contaminating it. The moisturizer has no fragrance, which is also a big plus; it doesn't irritate my sensitive eyes. It absorbs quickly into my face and has a matte finish. I do use a big blob all over my face because I really need the moisture. Best of all, it doesn't clog my pores or cause breakouts; my blackheads are starting to vanish probably because I can again use Reting-A. So, in a middle of winter in Chicago, my skin is moisturized and feels great even while using Retinoids. Maybe, this is partially attributed to the Grapeseed oil precleanse. But, my new routine is working and I hope this product will continue to deliver.

Sunscreen -Shiseido - Ultimate Sun Protection Lotion SPF 55 PA+++ [DISCONTINUED]
agusia212 6/25/2009 4:18:00 PM
I wanted to like this sunscreen sooo bad. I'm desperate for a product with decent PPD, this is about 8, lightweight and non-greasy. Well, this product fits the bill. It is quite runny, but in a good way it's easy to spread. It dries to a nice matte finish and makeup glides beautifully over it. However, just like with a few other sunscreens I tried, my face was tingling, itching and burning when exposed to the sun. Thankfully, I just received a sample.

Moisturizers -Eucerin - Sensitive Facial Skin Q10 Active Night Anti-Wrinkle Cream
agusia212 6/23/2009 5:39:00 PM
This is my HG night-time moisturizer; have been using this for over 5 years. It calms my skin and leaves it smooth, supple, and hydrated. It is a bit heavy for summer, however I still use it but mainly as an eyecream or after AHA treatments. In the drying winter months, I use it both AM and PM. It smells and has a feel of whipped butter, it takes a little time to sink in. It doesn't cause any breakouts or eye irritation as I have super sensitive eyes. I don't know about the wrinkle effects as that's not what I use it for. But, my skin looks awesome, no fine lines or smile lines of any sort. Now, if only Eucerin made something as good only in a lighter lotion form, I would be all set. For now, the search continues.

Fragrances -Dolce & Gabbana - Light Blue

This is the only fragrance that makes me literally sick. As soon as I smell it my stomach turns. It smells artificial musky metallic to me and simply awful. I don't know what's all the hype about this fragrance.

Moisturizers -Neutrogena - Oil Free Moisture - SPF 15
agusia212 6/23/2009 1:56:00 PM
I picked this for free at Ulta with reward points. I like this moisturizer, I only wish it was higher SPF with UVA/UVB protection. It absorbs quickly, non-greasy, does not irritate my skin, does not clog my pores. It's fine for use in the summer since I don't need a lot of moisture. I use this for everday when I'm going to work, just a 20 min drive; when I'm not spending anytime outside in direct or indirect sunlight.

Sunscreen -Eucerin - Daily Protection Moisturizing Face Lotion - Broad Spectrum SPF 30 Sunscreen - 4.0 FL. OZ. 118mL
agusia212 6/23/2009 1:46:00 PM
My sensitive skin does not react to this moisturizer. This lotion leaves a bit of a white cast, however it dissipates in few minutes. It's a little greasy and pore clogging for me. However, when I'm in the crunch and need protection when taking the kids to the park, I'll apply this lotion because it's the best so far that I've tried from the drugstore. Still looking for the HG, will try Shiseido SPF 55+.

Moisturizers -Biore - SkinPreservation Dual Fusion Moisturizer+SPF 30 ] [DISCONTINUED]
agusia212 6/23/2009 1:29:00 PM
This product says it is broadspectrum with a Skin Cancer Seal on the back of the package when in reality it has almost no UVA protection. It provides zero moisture for something claiming to be a "moisturizer". For oily skin this might work, for my combo skin it felt tight and uncomfortable. The feel of this product is nice and non greasy. I had no problem with the packaging.

Sunscreen -Cetaphil - UVA/UVB Defense Facial Moisturizer SPF 50
agusia212 6/23/2009 1:22:00 PM
The only good thing about this moisturizer is the protection and price. It feels greasy going on and left me shiny, however my sensitive skin didn't react to it. It clogged my pores by the end of one day. Still looking for a perfect everyday sunblock.

Sunscreen -Neutrogena - Healthy Defense Daily Moisturizer SPF 45 with Helioplex
agusia212 6/23/2009 1:15:00 PM
Tried this moisturizer after looking for a UVA/UVB protection for everday use. I have combo skin with oily T-zone, prone to clogged pores. The moisturizer feels great going on, no greasy feeling, absorbs quickly, fragrance-free. However, once my face hit outside, I had this uncomfortable tingling, buning sensation. When I got home I quickly washed my face and applied a gentle moisturizer to calm my skin. I'm returning this product.
