Lipstick -Unlisted Brand - Savvy by DB - Lipstick in Coral Crush
aegyo 6/2/2011 7:49:00 AM
I was actually intending to purchase FOA lippie in Coral Bay, but Priceline were out of that shade so I ended up with this instead. Fair to say I'm not regretting it at all! It's such a gorgeous colour, not too orange but not too red, that just perks up my face everytime I put it on. It's bright but not neon blinding 'aaaargh' like my MAC Morange - I'd totally rock this everyday. It has a slight shimmer to it, but it's only evident on closeup - it's not what I'd term a true frost (I know that term frightens people, me included, but sometimes lipstick swatches differently that it looks on the lip). It reminds me of NYX lipsticks in regards to formula and wear - not to mention the price (and I got it on a B2G1F deal so rounded out it was even less!). No discernible scent or taste which is a plus in my book. The only bad thing is now I know for a fact I'm never going to be able to go past a Savvy stand without buying something...

Lipstick -NYX - Round Lipstick - Sunflower
aegyo 12/13/2010 8:48:00 AM
I like NYX Round Lipsticks but this colour isn't one of my favourites. It's a frosted coral red. When I first put it on I kind of hated it, but now I think I might be able to work it as a festive lippie, haha. I do love NYX's formula though.

Lipstick -NYX - B52

A few shades darker than my natural lip colour. Great for a dressier daytime look or a simple nighttime one. I likes.

Lipstick -NYX - Round Lipstick Frappucino 632

MLBB for me, the last B standing for Brighter. This is the lippie I carry around in my handbag, my in-case-of-emergency lippie for the days I get caught short. I am a happier person that this lipstick exists.

Lipstick -Jordana - Matte-Lavender Lady
aegyo 12/13/2010 8:12:00 AM
I like this. It is a bit drying but I wear balm under it anyway. I prefer this matte formula over Revlon's at any rate. As for the shade, it is a pretty mauvey pink. I think it's very suited for an everyday colour. I also have a Jordana lipstick in Madison Mauve (from the InColor lipstick line) and swatched next to it, Lavender Lady is a lot pinker and brighter (Madison Mauve pulls a bit brown). I hate clear lidded lipstick cases so I depotted mine into a 7-day pill box with some other cheapie lipsticks. Bought mine from Cherry Culture.

Blush -Jordana - Redwood
aegyo 12/13/2010 7:25:00 AM
Bought this in my last Cherry Culture haul but also discovered that a local discount store sells a selection of Jordana cosmetics for $6 a piece. Obviously I'd rather buy these online but if my Redwood got lost or stolen I'd repurchase it in a heartbeat. I mostly have pink blushes but I adore the way this looks both in the pot and on my face. I actually prefer the screwtop pot, if only because I am forever breaking nails prising open fliptops (to the point where I now only open them with inanimate objects i.e. hairclips and safety pins idek).

Blush -Jordana - Coral Sandy Beach
aegyo 12/13/2010 6:59:00 AM
Oh my God I love this blush. I bought this and Redwood in my last Cherry Culture haul. Pigmented and so pretty, and so cheap. Also I discovered I could buy Jordana from a local discount store at $6 a pop (which is very reasonable by Australian standards). I can't live without blush and I'm so happy I've found this one. It's an everyday staple.

Eye Shadow -Unlisted Brand - BYS Eyeshadow compacts
aegyo 12/13/2010 6:27:00 AM
BYS is one of those 'first makeup brands' I remember buying at the two dollar shop when I was a kid. Now it's the reason I go to the two dollar shop in the first place. I guess because it's so cheap (and remember, makeup in Australia is so expensive that we've become accustomed to it) that people assume it's crap, but honestly I'm the opposite of a makeup snob (makeup cheaparse?) and of the strong opinion that with even a modicum of skill no-one should be able tell where it came from once it's on your face anyway. I have the Natural Delight 5-piece palette because I'm a whore for neutrals. The lightest colour, a pale beige, has a little glitter in it, and even though it's nowhere near obnoxious, I'm not a fan of it. But the other four colours (chamoise brown, bronze, umber and dark taupe) are good as any. They have a satin finish, and I think they have a little shimmer running through them, but like I said, not obnoxious. There is a fair bit of fallout, especially on the darker colours, but I'm not big on marking an eyeshadow down (especially if it is cheap) just because it has fallout, because...pure pigment has fallout. Mineral eyeshadows have fallout. If you don't like it, spend your hard earned on MAC pressed shadows at $32 AUD a pop, or deal with the only major drawback of your $5 palette. (I put on foundation after my eye make, and use face cream and baby wipes to wipe away stray eye-shadow. No biggie.) If you have a decent primer or base on hand there is no reason why these will not last all the live long day. And I swear to God they're not paying me to say any of this.

Mascara -Rimmel - Volume Flash The Max
aegyo 12/13/2010 5:42:00 AM
For me this was an average mascara with average performance that did average things to my lashes. My lashes are already long, and any old mascara will give me volume if I brush at them enough, so all I ask from my mascara is that it will hold a curl. And it didn't :( I didn't have too many issues with clumping, but I always wipe my mascara wands before use no matter what mascara I'm using. It's not a bad mascara by any means, but there are greener pastures to be had. I won't be repurchasing this.

Eye Primer -Unlisted Brand - Concrete Minerals - Electric Eye Primer
aegyo 10/3/2010 5:17:00 AM
I love this stuff to death. I literally cannot wear mineral eyeshadows without a primer, the stuff just disappears on my oily lids, but this keeps my make-up looking fresh all day long. The first time I wore it I couldn't stop staring at myself in my compact mirror on the bus home, I couldn't believe how well my eyeshadow had kept! (I must've looked so vain but I try and stay discreet |D) I'll be back for more of this for sure.

Lipstick -Revlon - Matte Lipstick - Nude Attitude
aegyo 9/21/2010 12:33:00 AM
As a matte nude, this kind of doesn't work for me. I can't wear it by itself. The colour suits me fine, but the formula isn't flattering on your lips, especially up close. It does give me an excuse to buy more lip glosses though, because that's the only way I can wear it.

Lipstick -Revlon - Revlon Matte-Pink Pout
aegyo 9/21/2010 12:19:00 AM
When I wear it alone, it's a bright Barbie pink (which I personally enjoy) but I do like it with gloss as well. After reading these reviews I'm keen to try it out over a nude lipstick. It's a very unique shade amongst drugstore lippies, suits a lot of different colourings and it also has great staying power :)

Lipstick -NYX - Round Lipstick in Pumpkin Pie #630
aegyo 9/21/2010 12:04:00 AM
This is my MLBB shade, and I keep it in my purse at all times. I bought this with Circe and Orange Soda, and this is like a happy medium between the two. I do have dark lips so it shows up as a subtle coral-ish gleam - when I wear lip concealer it turns to a nice peach-toned nude.

Lipstick -NYX - Round Lipstick in Circe #522
aegyo 9/20/2010 11:59:00 PM
Circe's grown on me. When I wear it and swipe Maybelline Buttercup (a sheer brown) over it, it's a perfect everyday nude. The other thing I love about this is its opacity because I have naturally very pink lips.

Lipstick -Etude - Color Me Nude Lip Concealer
aegyo 9/20/2010 11:49:00 PM
I like this a lot. I have naturally dark pink lips so to wear a lot of the nude lipsticks I like, I need to conceal them, and this does the job nicely. I don't normally find it drying but if you do, a bit of balm underneath helps. It's a very pleasant consistency too - much creamier than my normal concealer sticks.
