Lips -NYX - Soft Matte Lip Cream

I don't understand how people like this so much? It literally lasts like 1 1/2 hours for me and when it fades, it fades really patchy and ugly. I like the texture and finish and color and everything, but it WOULD NOT last and faded really ugly... and I wasn't eating or licking my lips or anything.

Foundations -Cover Girl - Outlast Stay Fabulous 3 in 1 Foundation
adrianna511 5/18/2013 2:28:00 AM
Maybe it really is possible to "get a bad one"? I haven't had the same experience with this as everyone else seems to have had. I found the coverage of this average, and when I tried to build it up it still didn't give me great coverage. I have acne scars to hide, I'm not someone who already has good skin or something. But I didn't expect this to have concealer-like coverage, I just thought it would give better coverage and it just wasn't good in that area compared to the numerous other drugstore foundations I've tried. I have oily skin and when I put this on it wasn't a matte finish like everyone says. On me it was actually a pretty dewy finish (it felt dry to the touch but looked pretty dewy), even after I had just put it on after my skincare routine in the morning and my face wasn't very oily yet. I use an oil-controlling base too, and my face stayed dewy looking throughout the day... Another problem I had with this was trying to prevent it from looking cakey. I could get a bit more coverage by using a flat top brush (still not great coverage like people say), but then it would look cakey. I tried using primers and making sure my face was well moisturized and everything, but I had to use my blending sponge (a beauty blender "dupe") with this, otherwise it would have looked cakey. It did seem to stay pretty good and didn't get ridiculously oily throughout the day, and it didn't oxidize or turn dark on me like it seems to have done for other reviewers. I could say it worked alright with my oily skin in the heat overall (not as good as revlon colorstay for combination/oily skin, which I can't use because it breaks me out), but I was disappointed with the coverage and how I had to try to make sure it didn't look cakey. It doesn't seem to be breaking me out which is good.

Eye Shadow -Maybelline - Barely Branded Color Tattoo
adrianna511 5/10/2013 3:51:00 AM
LOVE this! The consistency is creamy and goes on easily, and the color is amazing. It's like a light yellow-gold-champagne color (I'm not good at describing colors). It's really bright and I use it on my inner corners of my eyes and the first 1/3 of the lid. I actually also use this as a highlighter too, to highlight the tops of my cheekbones. It might sound weird but you don't have to use eyeshadow just on your eyes.

Eye Shadow -Maybelline - Color Tattoo 24hr Cream Gel Shadow in Tough as Taupe
adrianna511 5/9/2013 10:37:00 PM
I think they literally meant "tough" when they named this, because it's tough to get on. I also got this in "barely branded" which is part of the metal line. The barely branded one is actually nice to put on and glides on and is creamy. The tough taupe one is really thick and stiff and honestly kind of hard to put on and blend. I tried my finger and also brushes and it was kind of hard to put on. I wouldn't use it as a crease color or anything like that because it's so hard to blend but you could use it as a lid color or base I'm sure. Since I love the color so much I probably won't be returning it, I'll find a use for it. I might use it for my eyebrows. Maybe leaving it on a sunny windowsill would warm it up and make it easier to put on. But yeah, if you think it being thick and kind of hard to apply would really annoy you, you might want to steer clear of it. It stays on nicely though.

Liquid -Rimmel - Lasting Finish 25 Hour Foundation
adrianna511 4/25/2013 7:51:00 PM
Gah. This was almost a big hit but it has a few flaws I can't look over. First (and obviously this won't be a flaw for everyone) they don't have a color to suit my skintone. I'm very pale and have pink undertones. I bought the "ivory" one and let me just say, what were they thinking when they named this "ivory"? It's actually orangish-brown compared to my skintone. I just can't pull it off because of that. Also, it feels like it doesn't set onto your skin. Like, you put it on and then if you touch your face your face almost feels sticky or oily even though it wasn't oily before. You would want to powder pretty well if you wore this. I haven't really gotten that feeling with other foundations where it just feels oily right after you put it on. It wasn't shiny or anything but when you actually felt your face it was a bizarre feeling. It does have amazing coverage but I found that it could look cakey when applied the wrong way. I applied it with a flat-top brush to get good coverage but then I had to go back and pat my face with my damp blending sponge, otherwise it would have looked too cakey. I wish it came in a color suitable for me, and didn't feel weird on my skin. The coverage was a big plus with this and I don't think I've found the coverage in another drugstore foundation.

Concealers -MAC - Pro Longwear concealer
adrianna511 4/23/2013 10:31:00 PM
I was disappointed in this. It says on the website that it could be medium to full coverage, I would definitely say medium at best. I have red marks leftover from previous acne which are a pain to cover up. This concealer really didn't hide them better than a lot of the drugstore concealers I've tried (I have 8 or so drugstore concealers). I don't really see why people say this is full coverage, maybe they just don't have anything major to cover up. I even tried to build it up and use more and it wouldn't cover my marks. It could be a little bit cakey if you weren't careful, too. I've read reviews of people who said it felt heavy or like it tugged on their skin and felt really uncomfortable, well I didn't get that feeling at all. It felt like a normal concealer and wasn't uncomfortable to wear in my opinion. If you are thinking about getting this for your undereye darkness, then it could be good. I still use it for that but I don't use it for dark marks because it doesn't work well enough for that. It doesn't crease and it does stay on well, I give it that. Also, when I pump it out, I put the excess makeup in a plastic tub with a lid that seals, because it pumps out too much to use at one time. Bottom line, this really disappointed me when I tried to use it to cover my dark marks from acne, but it could be good for undereye darkness or less serious discoloration.

Mascara -Cover Girl - Lash Blast Clump Crusher mascara
adrianna511 4/21/2013 8:34:00 PM
I thought this was overrated. Not that it was terrible, but I definitely have tried better mascaras. When you use it, it doesn't feel like much - the brush is plasticy and not a lot of mascara comes out on the wand so I feel the need to rub it on the side of the tube to get more out. When you pull it through your lashes it doesn't feel like it's depositing a lot on them - but then again I guess that's why it's called clump crusher, because it doesn't just dump a ton of mascara on your lashes and make them clumpy. This mascara doesn't separate your lashes well, though. Not all of my lashes stay separate when I use this. The finished look is okay, but I've had others that were better at separating and lengthening.

Liquid -Cover Girl - TruBlend
adrianna511 4/21/2013 8:30:00 PM
I got a chance to try this out because I accidentally bought this instead of the cover girl 3 in 1 foundation. Let me just say, it has practically zero coverage. This might be good for someone who already has nice skin and just wants to throw on foundation for the heck of it, but if you have anything to cover I wouldn't buy it. It does go on smoothly and has a nice feel, though.

Lipstick -Cover Girl - Lip Perfection
adrianna511 2/1/2013 3:06:00 PM
I love the way this goes on (I'm really picky about the consistency of lipsticks). It stays on well, and it doesn't look bad on the dry parts on my lips (a problem I have with a lot of lip products). It does smell kinda weird when you're putting it on, but the smell only lasts for like 4 seconds and then the lipstick sets and you can't smell it anymore, so I don't really mind. To me it's not drying at all. Maybe not moisturizing, but not drying.

Bronzers -Maybelline - Fit Me Bronzer
adrianna511 1/23/2013 9:35:00 PM
I got this in the lightest shade. I'm pasty white and I was looking for a bronzer that wouldn't look too dark on me to use for contouring. This was so light that even on me it barely showed up even if I packed it on. Also, it was like 80% sparkle and 20% pigment. I don't see the point of a sparkly bronzer that hardly puts any pigment on you.

Lip Treatments -eos - Lip Balm Sphere - Strawberry Sorbet
adrianna511 1/21/2013 6:04:00 PM
I've tried lots of different lip balms since my lips are so dry. This is one of the best I've tried, even though I didn't buy into the hype at first. And I like the smell and unique packaging.

Concealers -Hard Candy - Glamoflauge Concealer
adrianna511 1/19/2013 7:18:00 PM
Their color range seems to be improving - they used to only have 3 colors but they have a new "ultra light" one which I was excited about since I'm really pale. It's kind of yellow-toned which is fine for a lot of people but I'm pink-toned so I just have to be careful to blend it and such. This is the first concealer I've tried that really covers my dark red acne scars. I still have to layer it, since it doesn't cover as much as I want it to with just one application. But even when I layer it, it doesn't look cakey. As long as you know how to apply it and blend it (I usually like to use my finger) it's a really good concealer!

Eye Shadow -Maybelline - Expert Eyes Eye Shadow - Sunbaked Neutrals
adrianna511 1/18/2013 7:50:00 PM
How have I not heard of this before? I was in the makeup aisle and this stood out to me. I really like neutral eyeshadows. This has a lot of shimmery shades which I like, and a couple not-as-shimmery ones. I think the colors are gorgeous and they're really pigmented. I'm excited to see what kind of looks I can come up with using these colors.

Lipstick -Maybelline - Color Whisper
adrianna511 1/18/2013 7:41:00 PM
I just got this at wal-mart in "pin up peach". I looked up pictures online of other people wearing it, and it looked like a baby pink. When I put it on, it was more of an orangish red. Not like a screaming color but definitely not baby pink. Luckily, I like the color it is. But I was surprised at the difference between how it looked on my lips and how it looked on other people's lips online. Anyway, I like how it goes on. I had problems with the revlon lip butter because it clung to even slightly dry spots on my lips, but this one smoothed on nicely despite my dry lips. I have fairly light colored lips and it went on pretty opaque for me. It was easy to apply like a lip balm but gives a nice color payoff. I don't like overly sheer lip products so I was happy with this. The packaging is cute and I'm satisfied with how the lipstick looks on. I'll update later if I have anything else to add.

Lipstick -Revlon - Colorburst Lip Butter

I wanted to like it but if you have any dryness on your lips it really sticks to the dry parts and makes them stand out.
