Fragrances -Creed - Love in Black
admeno 3/7/2011 3:42:00 AM
Violet scent, heavy on the cedar note. Like, many of the Creeds this has the potential to be a great fragrance if we took out one of its notes. In the present case I would be taking out the cedar note, as it makes the scent a bit harsh. The good news is that the cedar does dissipate after a few hrs, however, by this time most of the violet is also gone.

Powder -Graftobian - HD Pro Powder Foundation
admeno 9/17/2010 2:08:00 AM
Hands down the best powder foundation I've ever tried, and I have tried a lot, from high end to drugstore, to pro. It gives a poreless finish with amazing coverage. The color selection is huuuuge. I am particularly pale and most brands do not make powders that are light enough for me and if they do their powders tend to have a pink undertone which does not go with my skin. Each shade is made in Cool (C), Warm (W), and Neutral (N). I initially ordered their lightest yellow based shade which is called "Porcelain Doll." This shade matched me perfectly depth wise, but it was a little too yellow for my skin, thankfully there is a neutral version called "Fair Maiden" which is exactly the color of my skin. I apply makeup in my bathroom which has a large sky light and window, therefore I am extremely picky about finding the precise match. As for my slightly too yellow shade, no problem, I can still use it when I do my makeup for going out at night as it gives me an almost undetectable extra warmth. Lastly, I would recommend buying the pan rather than the compact, as it is more economical and you can put it in your palette along with blush and eyeshadow pots for an all in one kit.

Hair Styling Tools -Goody - Spin Pin
admeno 6/7/2010 2:40:00 AM
These things are amazing! I have long (bra strap lenght), straight, fine, slightly layered hair (botton 3 inches), lots of it. Generally, I tend to have a hard time finding hair clips that will hold all of my hair, and even when they do, the hair tends to slowly slip away. As for buns, well...I used to take ballet lessons when I was younger, therefore I had to wear my hair in a bun, which would require an inordinate amount of booby pins and for the hair to be semi-wet and geled, even then my bun would slowly begin desintegrating. Due to my prior experiences with buns I did not have high expectations for this product. Was I wrong! I sprayed some dove flexible hold hairspray made the bun by loosely twisting my hair and screwing one pin vertically from the bottom and another one from the top. I even jumped up and down a couple of times, the bun did not budge. After 5 hrs all of my hair is still in place. I am amazed, and will probably get some more of these pins, to try out different hairstyles, like a cluster of mini buns.

Highlighters -MAC - Mineralize Skinfinish in Lightscapade
admeno 11/15/2008 10:02:00 PM
I have just received this product from ebay, as it is currently discontinued by MAC, and I am in love!! I am an NC15 or NC20 and due to me very light complexion I tend to have a hard time finding a highlighter that does not look too dark on my skin. Lightscapade looks like a pastel multicolor marble in the pan, on the skin, it gives a light almost etherial glow. It took me a few tries to get the application right. I began with a flat-top sable brush, which deposited too much color making the glow look a bit fake. Then I tried a synthetic blush brush, ok but still too much product on my skin. Lastly I tried my duo-fiber brush, which I hardly ever use unless I am applying a liguid highlighter, lighscapade looks fabulous with this brush, the application is light and I can buff it into the skin to create a glow from within. It's a shame that MAC has discontinued this product. I would recommend it for anyone with light white skin to light asian skin. Application does make a difference with this product, so be mindful of your brushes or you might end up looking too glowy.

Foundations -Sally Hansen - Fast and Flawless Airbrush foundation [DISCONTINUED]
admeno 11/15/2008 9:49:00 PM
The consistency of this product is great, not greasy, very thin, and not sticky, however, the issue with me was the color, it is extremely orange. I purchased it in "NO Color" yet for something which is not supposed to be pigmented it is very dark on my skin, granted I have very pale skin nc15 or nc20 depending on the time of the year. I would recommend this product for asian skins as it has yellow undertones, or ladies who tan since the color does have a hint of golden hues. In conclusion, seems like great product if you can find one that matches your skin tone. I will note, that I do not wear it since the color match was way off, so I cannot comment on lasting power.

Fragrances -Chanel - No 5 Eau Premiere
admeno 10/10/2008 2:08:00 AM
I own the regular Chanel No 5 EDP, and I find it too sharp to wear, due to the aldehyde top notes, which can also be headache unducing for me. Eau Premiere on the other hand, keeps the floral and powdery notes of Chanel No 5, but doesn't have those sharp aldehydes. I find it more modern and wearable, like some expensive smelling baby power, which is balanced with a lemony note that breaks through the powderyness without being sour or sharp. Although this scent is soft, it does have great lasting power. I would recommed this for someone who wants a more refined and not so in your face version of chanel No. 5.

Makeup Brushes -Coastal Scents - Chisel Fluff/Pointed Crease Duet
admeno 8/31/2008 6:11:00 PM
Overall this is a very nice brush for the price. The crease end is great long enough for a soft application and small enough to keep good precision. The other side of the brush is an ok eyeshadow brush, a bit small and not dence enough if you want good color payoff. The main advantage of this brush is the fact that it gives you two essential brushes in one, so it is great for traveling or carrying in your purse.

Makeup Brushes -Coastal Scents - Deluxe Buffer Brush
admeno 8/31/2008 5:57:00 PM
This is an excellent brush, very soft and dense. Ideal for buffing mineral foundation. I have been a mineral makeup user for over 2 years. I started with the BE mineral makeup brush and then their kabuki brush, however, I felt that the former did not provide enough coverage, while the latter make me look masky and accetuated my pores. I am 24 and have very smooth skin, so with this in mind I would imagine that these don't do much for older women. Now moving back to the deluxe buffer brush, it gives me the right level of coverage and most imortantly it buffs my minerals in a way that makes my skin glowly and almost poreless. I am considering buying another one for mineral blush. The key with this brush is to buff and build color slowly.I have not experienced any sheeding whatsoever, like most natural hair brushes, it does stink a little the first time you wash it, but the smell goes away when it dries.

Makeup Brushes -Coastal Scents - Duo Fiber Stippling Brush
admeno 8/31/2008 5:51:00 PM
This is a great brush for applying liquid highlighters when you want a sheer even application. During my first few uses, I did notice a few hairs falling out, no more fallout since. The price is amazing in comparison to similar brushes in the market. Compared to MAC's equivalent this one is more dence and softer, so it results in a more even application and less irritation to the face. Overall, I would recommend this product as part of a well-rounded brush collection that will not break the bank.

Primer/ Corrector -Rimmel - Fix and Perfect Foundation Primer
admeno 7/14/2008 10:38:00 PM
It did an adequate job as a primer, keeping my face matte most of the day, however, when I came home and washed it off I noticed several blocked pores (yellow liquid bubbles), which I normally do not get. Based on my experience with the product, I would not recommend it, as it might cause break outs. The orange tint did not bother me, as I used only a pea sized dot for the face and blended it well.

Fragrances -L'Aromarine - Oceane
admeno 3/22/2008 5:59:00 PM
Very economical, smells beachy ...a mixture of coconut trees, sand, and marine notes, but not sharp as many marine fragrances tend to be, great to throw in your beach tote. It's also unisex.

Fragrances -L'Aromarine - L'Aromarine Fleurs Blanches

Simple fragrance, smells clean. I find it works best during the summer. It would be a great present for a young girl, as it is cheap in price and yet offers a natural light flowery smell.

Fragrances -Narciso Rodriguez - Narciso Rodriguez for her
admeno 3/15/2008 5:54:00 PM
I am on my second bottle, and that is a LOT to say considering I own over 50 perfumes, and have never bought a second bottle of any EDT or EDP before. Narciso doesn't smell like any of my other fragrances, nor does it have easily distinguishable notes, but the combination is amazing. To me it smells like a floral musk, not the classic musk that you might associate with older ladies or hippies (no offense if you are older or a hippie :) ), but a sophisticated scent might associate with a well traveled, well educated woman, who's femenine and sexy, but also has a brain. I have owned both the EDT and EDP, and preffer the EDT much more. The EDT is more present and with better silliage, while the EDP is more rounded and tends to stay close to your skin. My husband loves this scent, for him it is probably the sexiest perfume I own. The body lotion is also great, very long lasting and moisturizing but more on the runny side. The EDT might be strong for officewear, altough I have worn it to the office with the result of having a few ladies want to steal a dab everytime they saw my mini. This scent blosoms at night.

Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - Badgley Mischka Fleurs De Nuit
admeno 3/15/2008 5:36:00 PM
I love most of this scent except for the peach note, which seems to be out of place amongst the beautiful flower notes. The scent scent smells mostly of jasmine, and other light florals, with a hint of amber and some peach lurking in the background. The staying power is great, even though the perfume is not too strong. The bottle is also beautiful, and very chic. Can be worn both at night and day. I would say that it is a romantic and sophisticated floral. Another great feauture of it, is that at least for now it is not too popular so you won't see everyone and their mothers wearing it. If you like white florals, such as vera Wang you will probably enjoy this one.

Fragrances -Kenzo - Flower
admeno 3/15/2008 5:26:00 PM
What it is: Flowery, powdery and soft, long lasting...smells quite similar to YSL Paris Flowers de Vergers, but more natural and with less of the rose note. Violet notes are prominent, there is a subtle undertone of vanilla, but not too strong... I am not a fan of vanilla and still love this scent. There is also a hint of rose, a fresh rose as opposed to a sweet cloying rose. I think that this perfume is great for younger people, who do not want to smell like fruit punch or the like. Very good for office wear as it smells very clean, but wears close to the skin. I would say that it is a year long fragrance, with a very tranquil zen like smell. What it is not: Kenzo Flower is not a strong fragrance, or a nightime scent, although you could probably wear it at night. I is not complicated i.e. too many different notes put together. It is not cheap...unless you manage to find a gift set of it or buy it online. The bottle is not very portable, specially in the 3.5 oz size as it is extremely long. If you like Noa, Shi, Paris Flowers de Vegers, or Penhaligon's violetta you will probably like Flower by Kenzo. EDIT: I added another star, as I have been wearing it a lot this summer, specially when I want something innofensive for work.
