Shampoo -John Frieda - Sheer Blonde Highlighting Shampoo

I am currently using John Frieda's Root Awakening line; however I used the Sheer Blond line for years without any issues. It is hard to speak to the highlighting properties, as I used it consistently for years; however my hair was soft and managable while using it, and I never had any of the issues other have noted with my hair being overly lightened, or feeling stripped. This shampoo is only meant to enhance your current color, and not actually make changes to it. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to others and will likely purchase again in the future if I get tired of the Root Awakening line.

I love the root awakening line and have used a few versions of the shampoo and conditioner. This line includes eucalyptus which leaves a tingling sensation on your scalp. My hair is soft and manageable when using this shampoo with matching conditioner and I will continue to purchase from this product line.

Love this conditioner. I had been using John Frieda's Sheer Blonde line and received a sample of this product. Smells very nice, and the eucalyptus leaves a bit of a tingling sensation when you rinse it out. Invigorating in the morning, and leaves your hair soft and silky. Will definitely be buying again.

Foundations -Almay - Smart Shade Smart Shade Anti-aging SPF 20

Decided to try this version of the Smart Shade foundation after using the regular version. I have determined that I will not repurchase the anti-aging formulation, as it feels somewhat greasy, and the shade is not nearly as good a match for my fair skin. It is also harder to remove, almost like it is water proof. I wouldn't recommend this product for anyone with fair skin, and be aware that it is a rather heavy foundation that requires additional blending to get the shade right, and is harder to remove than other foundations I have used.

Liquid -Almay - Smart Shade Makeup SPF 15

Good, light coverage foundation. I have fair skin and chose the light shade. The coverage is a good sheer type foundation, and I find the color to be a good match. It is a bit messy to apply, as it feels a bit runny coming out of the tube, and you have to rub it in to get the smart shade aspect to work. I have travelled with this a few times on the plane, and the change in pressure does have a tendancy to cause the product to separate, which results in the shade becoming too dark. You can tell this is happening if the product starts to look like it has black specks coming out of the tube. Other than being a poor option for air travel, I like the product and have purchased it more than once.

Blush -Almay - Smart Shade Blush

Purchased this because I was looking for a cream blusher for my semi-dry skin. The Natural color is too orangey-brown for my taste, and looked more like I have a tan, so I don't generally use this shade. I like the pink-rose color, and purchased this for my daughter as well. I have fair skin, and the pink-rose is not too light and not too dark and looks very natural. Works very well, and I will purchase again.

Powder -Neutrogena - Mineral Pressed Powder Foundation

This is my first time trying a mineral powder foundation, and so far I'm happy with this product. My skin tends to be kind of dry, so I was a bit concerned this might emphasize fine lines and wrinkles, but so far this has not been the case. The product also does not irritate my skin which is a problem with some products. I do like the coverage, and at this point would buy again in the future. I was looking for a non-liquid foundation for when I travel, and so far this one is working well.

Crème -Neutrogena - Healthy Skin Compact Makeup SPF 55 Helioplex
rated 3 of 5

Bought this when looking for a non-liquid foundation for air travel, as I don't like to check my luggage. The SPF 55 seemed like a bonus as well, as I have very fair skin and burn easily. I didn't care much for the coverage; seemed to emphasize my pores. I tried application with both the included sponge and a foundation brush with similar effect. However my biggest issue was that it didn't agree with my skin creating small red bumps, so I must have an issue with one of the ingredients. If it hadn't been for the skin irritation, I probably would keep using it to see if I could improve on the other issues, but basically it just didn't work for me.
