Makeup Brushes -Bare Escentuals - Heavenly Face Brush
rated 3 of 5

3.5/5 I love the feel of this brush and its dense head for applying mineral foundation. This is the second time I've bought this brush. The only thing that keeps this brush from being perfect is that it sheds. The first one didn't shed until about a year in. Then it shed so bad I had to throw it out and use other brushes. This time I got the brush on sale. I snapped it up because I knew it would make a huge difference in my Ready foundation application. It really does make a big difference! Too bad it sheds so badly.

Cleansers -Philosophy - Purity Made Simple (Real Purity Cleanser)
rated 2 of 5
adara260 2/9/2013 6:42:00 PM

I bought this product as an all in one makeup remover and cleanser. First it did not take off all my makeup. I only had on eyeliner and mineral makeup. The eyeliner is smudeproof and waterproof and did not come off with Purity. This cleanser also dried out my skin, and I have oily combo skin. The smell and texture was nice. It reminds me of a liquidy version of Pond's cold cream which I like but is too strong for my combo oily skin. Really wanted to love this but I like it OK enough to use til its gone. Would not repurchase having this experience.

Makeup Brushes -Japonesque - Mineral Face Brush
rated 1 of 5

I found this brush to be not dense enough. I like my mineral foundation to be full coverage and this brush did not deliver on that. It splayed out way too much. I washed it before I used it and it rinsed purple...Overall the brush was fine, super light coverage but not what I was looking for. It went back.

Hair -Weleda - Rosemary Hair Oil
rated 1 of 5
adara260 12/20/2012 9:44:00 PM

I've tried this product for about a year now. I bought this as a dupe for Moroccanoil and other argan oil products to repair my damaged hair. The bottle doesn't really help to control the amount that comes out. What I end up doing is pouring out a bit and rubbing most of it off on a towel before I apply it to my hair. If this product worked I could put up with the smell, but it doesn't. Mine smelled like rosemary for awhile but now it smells like cooking oil (peanut oil is main ingredient). Last time I wore it I kept sniffing thinking I was near a restaurant or something but not it was my hair. I do have a peanut allergy but this didn't trigger it. For daily use I can't use this--I haven't tried this as a overnight deep mask but I will have to even though I didn't buy it for that. Seriously the cooking oil smell is enough for me to dump it. I didn't store it in direct sunlight, bathroom or anything. Ugh waste of money!

Eyeliner -Maybelline - Unstoppable Eyeliner
rated 1 of 5
adara260 12/1/2012 11:48:00 PM

I bought this because its the only waterproof drugstore eyeliner I could find at Target. This product is horrible! First I open it and the retraction device was broken. The eyeliner was completely separated from the "stage" mechanism that allows the eyeliner to retract. I tried to lightly smush it to make contact. I barely touched it and the tip broke! So I decided to do a smudge test. I lined this up with Revlon Colorstay and Prestige Total Intensity. I let them sit for a minute and then tried to smudge them like crazy. The Revlon and Prestige didn't smudge a bit. This one was practically gone. I ran my hand under water, the rest of the Maybelline washed away. The other two are still there! So if I could give a product an absolute 0 for every category, this would be it.

Hair -Moroccanoil - Moroccan Oil
rated 3 of 5
adara260 11/27/2012 12:03:00 PM

I bought into the hype of this product and bought it after trying some drugstore versions, pure argan oil and this Kenzia brand version of argan oil/ moroccanoil dupe. I DON'T think this lives up to the hype at all. Sure this product smells great and defrizzes but nothing extraordinary than other products. In fact I prefer that Kenzia brand better because it was "runnier" and I could put it in my hair after washing and it would soak right in and detangle all my knots out. The Moroccanoil is much heavier and doesn't detangle my hair on its own. I still have to wrestle a comb through it. Sure this product defrizzes if you put it on after you've blow dried but not any better than a much cheaper product. Overall: In the order of my preference of argan oil hair products: 1-Kenzia 2-Josie Maran 3-Organix 4-Moroccanoil/ pure argan oil. I will use this product up and not repurchase.

Moisturizers -Yes To Carrots - Yes To Tomatoes Daily Balancing Moisturizer
rated 4 of 5
adara260 11/27/2012 11:36:00 AM

I bought this product because I've been trying out moisturizers since my HG was reformulated years ago. I bought this product to try one that will help with acne and moisturize. I have mixed feelings about this product. I have combination oily and dry skin depending on the season. This is definitely more emollient than other moisturizers intended for acne/oily skin. I use retinol, clay masks and other products that can be drying to my skin so I appreciate the emollient quality especially now that it is winter. I definitely did not enjoy this moisturizer as much during the summer. Using less definitely helps with the emollient quality if you feel like its too much. Overall: I didn't find this product to break me out or help necessarily with my breakouts. I like this product a lot more during the winter. The packaging is sanitary. I actually really enjoy the smell! The price is reasonable for what I expect to pay for natural products. I don't know if I'd repurchase only because its too heavy for my oily skin during summer and I don't want a product I can only use during half the year.

Treatments -Neutrogena - Rapid Wrinkle Repair Serum
rated 5 of 5
adara260 11/27/2012 11:23:00 AM

I've been using this product now for two weeks and I had to write a review because I've seen a noticeable difference in skin tone and clarity. Last night I glanced my face in a window reflection and did a double take because my skin looked like I had foundation on it! Thats HOW GOOD THE RESULTS ARE! Some background, I've used several Neutrogena retinol products and prescription retinol products to treat my acne which is caused by clogged pores. I find the retinol chemically exfoliates my skin eliminating my blackheads and or making them much easier to extract. I've found awesome success with various Neutrogena products, check out my other reviews. This product has worked the quickest for me. The other Neutrogena products took a month to see results. This serum is scented, but it doesn't bother me. It's not moisturizing in the least so you will need to put a moisturizer over it if your skin is dry. It actually dries down to a really dry texture, so if you have really oily skin like me you'll love it. Overall: You will see rapid results with this product. This product helped with my blackheads and has improved my blemish/scar ridden complexion. I thought I had foundation on, and did a double take! The packaging is superior to the other Neutrogena products I've used. It protects its efficacy and is sanitary. LOVE!

Skincare - Face -Clarisonic - Acne Brush Head
rated 5 of 5
adara260 11/11/2012 3:17:00 PM

I've gone through three of the deep cleansing heads before I switched to this one. I have oily skin with large pores that is breakout prone both blackheads, whiteheads and huge cysts. With the deep cleansing head my skin was getting aggravated. I used it twice a day and it was too much. I tried switching it to once a day and it was still too much. I think it made me break out more. This brush head is plush and exfoliates and massages my face without taking off my entire face! It helps to remove my makeup. I didn't have any trouble moving the brush across my face like the other users mentioned. I will be buying this brush head from now on.

Foundations -Bare Escentuals - Bare Minerals Ready Foundation
rated 4 of 5
adara260 11/11/2012 3:10:00 PM

I've been a fan of Bare Escentuals for years. I like some products better than others. I've always liked the foundations but the Original and the Matte formulations had their issues. The finish and the coverage of the Original were awesome but did not last on my oily skin. The finish of the Matte was better but the coverage wasn't that great. With both formulations I had trouble with finding a good color match. I often had to mix at least two colors which turned this into a 50 dollar foundation, and for that money shouldn't you have a perfect match? The Ready has FINALLY merged all I love about BE and then some. Ready's finish is between Matte and Original. The coverage is excellent! I didn't buy the new brush I used the heavenly face brush which is synthetic and flat and dense. I've always used this brush for foundation. I use long sweeping strokes instead of the tap swirl buff, traditional method. The staying power is awesome! For my oily skin it definitely lasts longer than Original and probably lasts as well as the Matte on my skin, I get about 6-8 hours of wear. Which is a lot! I still get oil breakthrough but I always will I have crazy oily skin. And finally the color match....BE finally makes a color that matches my skin in one. Yes the foundations are different than the other formulations so you will have to get color matched. But finally whats "weird" on everyone else works for me! I love this foundation! I can't wait to see how it fairs in the summer..

Shampoo -Suave - Professionals Keratin Infusion Dry Shampoo
rated 3 of 5
adara260 8/19/2012 9:26:00 PM

I am trying to wash my hair less because I'm trying to preserve my color and to reduce damage to my hair. I work out everyday however, so its hard not to wash. I use this dry shampoo to combat smelly hair and on clean hair to add some extra volume to my hair. I've used this one and the regular dry shampoo that Suave makes. I like the scent of this one better but I think the other Suave one is better. I've had problems with the bottle of the other Suave dry shampoo that others have talked about; leakage, cloggage, only two uses per bottle. I contacted customer service and they sent me a coupon for a refund. I think perhaps they had trouble with packaging with some of their bottles, but I've bought three bottles since and not had troubles. For 3 bucks its worth a try!

Masks -Unlisted Brand - Aztec - Indian Healing Clay
rated 3 of 5
adara260 8/19/2012 9:19:00 PM

I really like this mask a lot. I suffer from adult acne and was hoping that this mask would draw out all the gunk from my pores. I have used Queen Helene's and other type clay masks. I agree with everyone else that uses this with Apple Cider Vinegar. Definitely use ACV with the mask instead of water. Using it with water makes it impossible to mix etc. I think the ACV helps with toning properties too. I haven't tried ACV on its own but based on the reviews on here I might! This mask definitely draws out the oil and makes things easier to extract. I use this mask once a week with Nuance's Exfoliating Gel. It's nice to use a more natural product.

Treatments -Mario Badescu - Drying Cream
rated 3 of 5
adara260 8/15/2012 12:33:00 AM

I am willing to try anything to help my acne that developed in my twenties. I wanted to try a sulfur product after trying BP and salicylic acid etc. I've tried everything from OTC to prescription to homeopathic stuff. Different regimes have worked for me for different parts of my life so I guess one has to keep hammering at it to manage acne. I can't tell if this product works or not. I've had this jar for several months now. It definitely doesn't work for clogged pores or blackheads. For whiteheads I've tried this over a non popped whitehead and a popped one, this definitely doesn't squelch the whitehead nor does it dry out the whitehead... I don't know if this works on my underneath cystic breakouts. I can easily attribute it to my Clarisonic etc. So overall I won't be repurchasing because I don't know if this works or not. I'm very confused by this acne product, LOL. I'm giving it one last shot on a few whitehead breakouts and this emerging one and then I'm giving up on this product.

Skincare - Face -Unlisted Brand - Avibon
rated 3 of 5
adara260 8/14/2012 8:21:00 AM

Overall Rating: 3.6 I bought this product because of the hype. I was currently on Tretenoin (prescription Retin A) for my acne, but I was looking for a cheaper alternative. Avibon is not as effective as the prescription stuff or as effective as the Retinol stuff I can get over the counter in the US and have used in the past. Avibon hasn't cleared up my acne or helped with exfoliation. I've been using this for the past 3-4 months. I don't know if I can attribute anything (clearer tone) to Avibon directly. Overall I do enjoy using it. I love the scent. I love the moisturizing properties. It is thick and ointment like so I know it'll be great in the winter. I think the packaging is efficient and keeps the product stable. I ordered it from New London Pharmacy for a decent price so I can't complain about that. I think after I am done with my three tubes I'll go back to over the counter stuff or the prescription stuff.

Lotions/ Creams -Burt's Bees - Milk & Honey Body Lotion
rated 3 of 5
adara260 8/1/2012 10:07:00 PM

I bought this lotion when it was on sale at my local Big Lots. I have never tried anything from this line minus the balms so I said why not? The scent is fine, the moisturizing capabilities not so much. The lotion is on the runnier side. It penetrates my dry skin but it doesn't keep it moisturized for a very long period of time. I've tried this lotion out during the winter and the summer, so there is no excuse. Overall this product was a fail. I would never spend that much on a lotion again.
