Top/Base Coats -Orly - Sec 'N Dry Multi-Layer Quick-Dry Topcoat

HORRIBLE. I have given this bottle so many tries. I paint thin, even coats. I wait between coats at least 10 minutes. Sec 'N Dry not only makes the previous coats reconstitute in moisture, but it takes at least a day to dry totally. (I've woken up after letting my nails dry for hours before I went to bed, and I had smudges the next day). If you do put it on semi-tacky nails, the very top will dry, but the bottom layers will be gooey and gummy underneath. The other gem of this product is that it will make any previously-dried coats smear and transfer (you can see the polish on the Sec 'N Dry brush), which isn't good for just a one-color paint job but is doubly horrible for any nail art you were wishing to seal. I used Poshe before, and because it's hard to find, I decided to give this a try. I will be going back to Poshe for a truly quick-drying top coat that gives high-watt shine...unlike Sec N' Dry.

This butter is heavenly. I can't get over the scent. It's not overwhelming and has long lasting power. Moisturizes beautifully! I've never been disappointed with a Bliss Labs product, and this butter is no exception.

Gels/Soaps -Unlisted Brand - Tone - Mango Splash Body Wash
rated 5 of 5

This body wash smells AMAZING! It actually smells like Tropical Skittles candies. My boyfriend couldn't stop smelling it in the shower. You can get a fantastic amount of lather by just using a small amount of the product. One bottle lasts me a couple months. It's moisturizing, smells sooo good and a little product goes a long way.

Skincare - Body -Bio Oil - All Products

This is a dry oil. I saw no difference between this and Neutrogena's dry oil spray. It doesn't moisturize well; it doesn't sink in totally, and it left my skin feeling greasy and filmy. After about a month's use, I saw that it also did nothing for my stretch marks/scars. I didn't expect a miracle, but a little something would have been nice. I wouldn't dare put this on my face.

Hair -Weleda - Rosemary Hair Oil
rated 5 of 5
abs0lutelyfab 10/15/2008 3:54:00 PM

Fantastic! It smells so citrus-y like rosemary. A little goes a long way, and it imparts terrific shine and luster. I put it on after washing and conditioning my hair, and by the time I'm done drying and flat ironing, my hair is like butter! It's so nourishing for the ends. The odd thing is that the main ingredient is peanut oil. You think they would list it more prominently on the label, especially with peanut allergies being so dangerous.

Hair Styling Tools -Conair - Head to Toe Bobby Pins
rated 5 of 5
abs0lutelyfab 10/15/2008 3:45:00 PM

I love these pins! They come in various shades; I have the brown ones that are actually a little on the bronze side. They disappear in hair well, and unlike the other bobby pins on the market, they don't have those rubberized tips that come off eventually. The tips on these pins are a hard enamel that is comfortable on the scalp and will last a long time. 90 pins comes on a slotted sheet, which is helpful to keep the pins in one place.

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Dr. Miracle's - Thermalceutical Intensive No-Rye Relaxer - Regular
rated 4 of 5

In the kit, you will get 1. No Lye Relaxer Creme 2. Activator 3. Color Warning Conditioning Neutralizing Shampoo 4. Relaxed Hair Potion 5. Protective Gel 6. Protective Gloves, Mixing Spatula and directions I started using this relaxer after Raveen was taken off the market. This is a standard relaxer, and it's gentle. The smell isn't overpowering, and it takes about 15 minutes to relax my medium texture, below shoulder length, wavy African-American hair. It rinses easily with the neutralizing shampoo (enough comes with the kit to wash your hair a few times after relaxing); however, the first time I used the kit I followed directions and used the relaxed hair potion as a conditioning agent afterwards. Post relaxer my hair felt kinda dry and haylike. After I dried and styled, my hair was so static filled! This lasted until the next time I washed my hair. I tried contacting Dr. Miracle's company for an answer to no avail. For the times that I have relaxed since, I have just skipped the relaxed hair "potion" and just used my regular conditioner. Based on my results, and not using the potion, I would say this is a great relaxer with real staying power. I apply it to my roots and midway down the shaft of my hair. The rest of the hair stays relaxed and straight, and applying relaxer to the ends will just make them split and frayed. I am currently five months between relaxers (with the help of PhytoDefrisant Anti-Frizz relaxing balm), and my new growth is still soft, yet wavy.

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Jolen Creme Bleach
rated 5 of 5
abs0lutelyfab 10/15/2008 3:11:00 AM

I use this product to lighten my eyebrows a shade. It's easy to mix, and I usually paint it on with the spatula included or a hair dying brush. Be sure to check the progression by wiping off a bit of the mixture with the spatula. Just as soon as you think that it's not really working, it will remove the color quickly. Repaint it back on if you need to lighten more. It does a great job of staying in place, and on the scale of skin irritation, it has ranged from tingling to slight discomfort. I haven't gotten a chemical burn from it yet.

Treatments -Burt's Bees - Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream
rated 5 of 5
abs0lutelyfab 10/15/2008 2:59:00 AM

The smell of this balm is so fresh. It has the consistency of a vaseline-based treatment rather than a cream. It smells like limes, in my opinion. It moisturizes well and keeps my hangnails at bay. The tin is adorable as well. Love it!

Lip Gloss -Burt's Bees - Burts Bees Lip Shimmers

I have this in merlot, and it gives a deep, pigmented stain with the moisturizing power of plain Burt's Bees. Gor-geous.

Lip Treatments -Burt's Bees - Beeswax Lip Balm
rated 5 of 5
abs0lutelyfab 10/15/2008 2:54:00 AM

This balm is fantastic. My lips tend to dry out even with use of "moisturizing" lipsticks and glosses. Burt's Bees is the only balm aside from plain Vaseline, that I can use without having my lips dry out. I tend to use it below any lipsticks and glosses, and it holds its own without making the pigment slide off. The minty tingle is so soothing too! Just beware not to let it get hot. It rolled underneath my laptop without my noticing, and I had to put it in the fridge to reform. It was grainy in consistency for a few days.

Conditioner -Ojon - Tawaka Rejuvenating Conditioner [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
abs0lutelyfab 10/15/2008 2:48:00 AM

Would I buy this again? Yes, yes, YES! This is the Bentley of conditioners. It has the consistency of pudding, and has a rich chocolate smell. I bought the duo shampoo and conditioner, and while the shampoo is good too, the conditioner is magic. It disperses smoothly through the hair. I leave it on for at least 5 minutes with a shower cap on while I shower. Once I rinse, my hair is silky and feeling strong. While this conditioner is highly moisturizing, it doesn't leave a tacky or greasy film after rinsing. I have used this as a "shampoo" to keep from stripping my hair too much with cleanser, and my hair didn't feel greasy after I dried and styled. The bottle has lasted since I ordered in July, and I tend to use prune-sized amounts at a time. My hair is full of luster and shine after I use this product. Hallelujah!

Shampoo -Ojon - Tawaka Rejuvenating Shampoo [DISCONTINUED]
rated 4 of 5
abs0lutelyfab 10/15/2008 2:40:00 AM

This shampoo takes getting used to. It barely lathers, which was hard to accept at first. I tended to love a mane full of lather and suds. Be sure to follow the directions and leave the shampoo on for a couple of minutes before you rinse. I also add a little bit of water and gently agitate my scalp before I rinse. I also think that after using this shampoo a few times, it did a better job of cleansing my hair without stripping the oils. I felt it was a bit drying in the beginning. Now it's gentle, and it does a great job. I'm not about to use this as a body cleanser as it's expensive! I did try it out to shave my underarms, and it did a fantastic job. I will buy it again as my hair is looking beautiful and feeling strong and healthy. The real deal in the duo is the conditioner. Go to QVC for a better deal on the set.

Misc Beauty Tools -Unlisted Brand - Schick - Quattro for Women
rated 3 of 5

It does an ok job on my legs. Oddly enough it does the worse job on the areas with curves, even with its pivoty head. I prefer this razor since it's gentle on the armpit area, but I prefer the Mach 3 for legs for a precision shave with a silky finish.

Mascara -Maybelline - Volum' Express The Colossal
rated 4 of 5
abs0lutelyfab 10/15/2008 2:22:00 AM

This mascara did everything that I expected of it. It gives a sick amount of lengthening, and it has a good bit of volumizing power. I usually never coat my bottom lashes, and after I saw myself in a photo after I had done so, I can say, without ego, that the result was gorgeous. This mascara doesn't clump, and the brush is generous and lush. My lashes stay soft; the product doesn't flake (yay!), and it's easy to remove with makeup remover. I was initially drawn to the packaging. The vivid yellow and metallic purple is alluring. Maybelline, way to recover yourself in my opinion after that dreadful Great Lash. Bravo.
