Mascara -Sephora - Volume Mascara

Love this mascara..very surprised by the negative reviews. It doesn't thicken much, and only adds a little bit of length, but it is very, very buildable. It almost never clumps unless you apply too many coats and gives a natural but can-still-tell-you're-wearing-mascara look. Also, this is the only mascara I've used that holds up a curl pretty well without a primer.

Scrubs -Olay - Regenerist Microdermabrasion and Peel Kit
rated 4 of 5
abcx123 8/30/2009 11:19:00 AM

I've been using this on and off for almost a year. Sometimes I'll use it once or twice a week, sometimes I'll forget and use it once every three weeks. I've had this for almost a year and I still have 1/4 of the product remanining, even though the box says it should only last about 2 months. A little goes a long way. First off, I looooove the heavenly orange smell. It makes me happy using it. This scrub is amazing - you can tell it has a lot of scrubbing beads in it, and it's very thick and coarse, yet it feels gentle on the skin (make sure your skin is damp/wet before you use it though). I don't know how to describe it, but when you use it, you feel like you've never truly used an exfloliant before this one because it's that good. The peel comes in a small bottle, and I thought it wouldn't last long, but I have around half the bottle left. Once again, you only need to use a little bit. It burns a tiny bit if I use too much, but other than that, I have no complaints. It doesn't have an offense smell or anything. I immediately notice that my skin is baby smooth right after using this and it seems a bit softer and brighter, but I could be imagining it. My skin absorbs creams better as well. However, I don't really notice anything different about my skin the next day or in the long run - my scars don't disappear faster, my skin doesn't glow more, my pores aren't smaller, etc. However, I will continue to use it just for the effects of normal exfoliation because this really is a very good scrub.

Mascara -L'Oreal - Double Extend Beauty Tubes Mascara in Black
rated 4 of 5
abcx123 8/30/2009 11:08:00 AM

Having tried the normal Double Extend waterproof, I was excited to try this, espescially since I liked the "tubes" aspect of Blink's Kiss Me mascara. If you're looking for a cheaper tubing mascara, this does the job. If you're looking for the same effect as Kiss Me, this isn't it. Kiss Me is very wet and more dramatic, while Double Extend is more natural. I love the primer of this stuff - all it takes is one layer for thicker lashes. Doesn't really seem to lengthen, but the mascara does that. The primer and mascara together give an effect that's not too natural, yet not too dramatic. The thing I don't really like is that it can only be layered a few times before it clumps a lot. This is important for Asians like me, but people who already have nice lashes will probably get a dramatic effect without many layers. Lasting power is amazing - it never budged, ever, though I never really have a problem with smudging mascara. Removal is a bit annoying because I need to rub a bit to remove all the tubes, rather than just doing a swipe with makeup remover. It sure beats getting black smudges everywhere though. I think this is almost exactly the same as the DE waterproof, but for some reason, it's slightly less dramatic. Also, since this isn't a true waterproof formula, it also doesn't hold a curl as well. For these reasons, I wouldn't repurchase but this is a great mascara and I would love it if only my lashes could hold a curl better.

Eyeliner -Maybelline - Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner
rated 3 of 5
abcx123 8/30/2009 10:53:00 AM

-product only available in Asia The name "Lasting Drama" is a bit misleading, as I find it hard to get a dramatic effect. No matter how much I layer, I can't seem to get a true black colour. Instead, this liner gives a matte, dull black. The tiny brush is pretty good for something that's included with the liner. The tip is soft, small, and allows for percision. Lasting power on my upper eyelids was great - it barely budged the whole day, save for a tiny bit of smudging. On my waterline, however, this disappeared in less than an hour, which is less than standard for creme eyeliners. On my lashliner, it lasted a few hours, but smudged a lot. The packaging is very good - it comes in a small opaque glass bottle that's nicer than what's typically seen at drugstores. Other than the packaging and the brush, this liner is very disappointing.

Eyeliner -Maybelline - Eye Studio Line Allure Liquid Eyeliner
rated 2 of 5
abcx123 8/30/2009 10:39:00 AM

-product only available in Asia This does not compare to Maybelline's American liquid eyeliner. The colour isn't a true black, but rather, a shiny faded black (yet not light enough to be considered grey). While the felt tip brush makes it easy to work with, it makes it impossible to layer on colour because it rubs away the previous layer. Even with one layer, it leaves a line that looks like the liner has been rubbed away, if you get close up to the mirror. A pro is that this never smudges, because it comes off in flakes. If you rub your eyes, it wont smear, but will flake. As for lasting power, it slowly fades away during the day, but wont flake off if you dont touch it. Packinging is pretty and streamlined - a small tube with a silver cap, no triangular shape like many other products. I often mistake it for a Clinique product. I would only recommend this to those new to liquid eyeliner, who want to experiment with application. Otherwise, this leaves a lot to be desired for those who already use it.

Eyeliner -Annabelle - Smoothliners
rated 4 of 5
abcx123 5/3/2009 2:09:00 PM

After reading the reviews, I picked this up in "Brownie". The colour is perfect, looks like black from far away, but less harsh. As mentioned before, it is very smooth. I was surprised when I first used it. However, I don't think I'll repurchase because it smudges on me in a few hours and I have to constantly check my eyeliner (I have oily lids though and I've never had much success with eyeliner on my lower lids). Recommeded if you don't have oily lids.

Eyeliner -Wet 'n' Wild - Mega Eyes Creme Eyeliner - Black
rated 4 of 5
abcx123 5/3/2009 2:04:00 PM

The only liquid liner I've ever used is Wet n Wild. I was thinking about buying MAC Fliudline because I heard creme liner is easier to apply, so when I heard about this, I had to get it instead. The brush it comes with isn't the greatest, but it's usable. The liner itself is very, very black. On my lashline, it gives an intense look that can be softened with smudging. However, I don't really like the way it looks on my upper lids because it gives a "softer" look than liquid eyeliner, though this is typical of creme liners. Only a very small amount is needed so I think the pot will last me a long while. Never smudged and removed easily with EVOO. Edit: I notice that this smudges a lot on my upper lids but it stays on my lashline and waterline, which has never happened with any other eyeliner.

Mascara -L'Oreal - Double Extend Waterproof
rated 5 of 5
abcx123 5/3/2009 1:56:00 PM

I've tried tons of mascaras and I never thought I'd find my HG because of my Asian lashes. This comes as close as I think I'll get. It's like a more natural version of Volume Shocking and without the clumpiness. The primer actually makes a difference. It lengthens decently, and holds a curl better than any mascara I've tried. Being waterproof, it didn't smudge at all and it removed easily with extra virgin olive oil. I'm going to try a few more mascaras including the Beauty Tubes version, but I would definately buy this again. My only issue is that the primer turned grey-ish after awhile (I think the wand kept touching my liquid liner).

Eye Shadow -Rimmel - Colour Rush Eyeshadow Quad, Smoky Noir
rated 2 of 5
abcx123 9/28/2008 2:54:00 PM

This is one of the worst eyeshadows I've ever used. I bought this because the colours were good matches of the Lise Watier quad. I wasn't expecting the best quality for a Rimmel product, but I at least thought the colours would show up on my skin. The only colour that showed up was the black, which is a solid, matte black without a hint of gray (the only reason I'm giving this two lippies instead of one). The other colours are a bit too glittery. The product is very chalky and there is very little product in the pan, which I wouldn't mind for the price if I didn't need to load on the colour just to get a little colour payoff.

Eye Shadow -Annabelle - Eyeshadow - Vert to Go
rated 4 of 5
abcx123 9/28/2008 2:50:00 PM

This is a basic dark green shadow with no shimmer. I originally bought this to do a simple green smokey eye, but this shadow isn't metallic so it didn't work out very well. However, the colour payoff is great. It looks exactly as it does in the pan and it isn't chalky at all. It lasts hours without creasing. I am tempted to buy Annabelle shadows in more colours.

Eye Shadow -Annabelle - Eyeshadow #101 (Bronze)
rated 3 of 5
abcx123 9/28/2008 2:45:00 PM

I forgot to test it out before buying. I assumed it would look okay because it's a very nice coppery colour in the pan. I would not buy this again because the colour is barely noticable on my Asian skin. It does give my eye a bit of depth, but only if you look closely. However, the shadow is great. The colour payoff is very good for a drugstore product, it's not powdery or chalky, and it lasts for hours without creasing. If this colour will look nice with your skintone, I definately recommend it.

Treatments -Pantene - Pro-V Restoratives Time Renewal Replenishing Mask ] [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
abcx123 9/28/2008 2:36:00 PM

This is definately the best conditioner I have ever used and I normally don't like Pantene. This is a better version of the Moisture Replenishing mask. It makes hair super soft and shiny. It also seems to make my hair a little straighter after using it. I wouldn't say it cures my slightly fried hair since the results only last until the last shampoo, but my hair has never looked so nice after I use it. The consistency is thick, which I like.

Treatments -Pantene - proV treatment Intensive Moisturizing Mask
rated 4 of 5
abcx123 9/28/2008 2:33:00 PM

Like the first reviewer, I was looking for the Time Renewal mask but couldn't find it, so I bought this instead. Though I normally hate Pantene, this is one of the best conditioners I've used. It makes my hair soft, silky, and shiny, even though the effects only last until the next shampoo. If I hadn't tried the Time Renewal, I would've given this 5 stars, but Time Renewal makes my hair even softer. The consistency of this is thin compared to Time Renewal and other conditioners in general. I put "yes" for repurchase, but only if I can't find Time Renewal.

Masks -Unlisted Brand - Charmzone New Control Cream
rated 3 of 5
abcx123 8/13/2008 4:23:00 PM

This is supposed to remove sebum from your pores. The instructions say to leave on for one minute, then wipe off with a tissue. I did see oil beads sitting on my skin after a minute, but whether that is from my skin or the product, it is hard to say. My skin didn't look any cleaner after using this and I couldn't stand how oily the product was after wiping it off (you're supposed to leave on the rest as a moisturizer) so I had to wash it off. I've only used this twice, so I know don't know how it benefits skin in the long run, but I haven't seen any improvements after wiping the oil off.
