Deodorants -Unlisted Brand - Crystal Roll-On Body Deodorant

I figured this would beat everything else hands down. And it's aluminum free. I has the worst B.O. EVER!!!!!!!!!!!! because it didn't work at all. I've never had b.o. before, and once I stopped using it and started using a real deoderant I don't have it anymore. In fact I was afraid that my whole body chemistry had been altered for some unknown reason. I was freaking out. I'll keep my aluminum thank you. By the way, I got Ban and it is 100% effective even when I am so busy I skip a day (and a shower) and haven't reapplied. I'll never use this line of products ever again!!!!!

Moisturizers -Clean & Clear - Oil-Free Dual Action Moisturizer

Love it, love it. I had chosen something else over this one not long ago. Then I got a gift card and thought, I'm going to go back and get that. 'Cause what I've been using for the past couple years isn't working!!! ----- CLEAN and CLEAR - perfect texture, smooths right in like a dream. Really pretty (light) not medicinal or artificial kind of smell. ALL ACNE WAS GONE WITHIN 24 HOURS!!! ----- Enough said. My HG, finally thank god. I love it and will buy extra if I ever hear it will be discontinued. ------- Here's what I have tried in the past: Neutrogena (the basic one that is highly recommended) - sort of pasty. Didn't improve my skin. Acne still appeared for whatever reason, worse than it's been in a long time. .... Gold Bond and Suave body lotions (read somewhere that they're great for the face, blah blah). Total lie. Did nothing for me. .... Oil of olay - just basic, didn't do anything for me really. A little greasy. .... Aveeno skin brightening - felt like a pasty coating. Didn't help or hurt skin but wanted something good for my skin deep down. .... Cetaphil - strange texture, too light and seemed not to counteract dryness at all. ... and the list goes on. I am so happy with this product and highly recommend it.

Shampoo -Clairol - Shimmer Lights
rated 5 of 5

I am adding a follow up review - this shampoo works and keeps working. I LOVE it as much as ever. I've been using it for over a year. I've noticed my hair is dry though. I haven't tried the conditioner yet. I've just been pairing it with whatever conditioner I have on hand. Not a good system. Following up on any hair product with a once a week hair mask, or a bit of safflower oil is probably the thing to pair with this amazing product. It's my favorite hair product!!

Gels/Soaps -Neutrogena - Body Clear Body wash
rated 5 of 5
aaren 8/7/2007 7:08:00 PM

A real godsend. Better than an HG for me. My skin isn't awful but I've been plagued with arm and butt and a teeny bit of 'back of the thighs" breakouts. Less so than when I was a teen. To get right to it. I love this gel. It has evened out my skin tone and allowed me to have ZERO butt acne. You all know who you are - if you are weary of letting your significant other see you in a thong, OR dread a strapless dress because your arms look like sandpaper.... you don't have to worry anymore. I'm so HAPPY! I don't have good luck with shampoos, etc. but I will NEVER stray from this stuff. It's as good as gold to me. Highly recommend it. =)

Shampoo -L'Oreal - Nutri Gloss for medium to long hair thats damaged
rated 5 of 5
aaren 6/3/2007 3:22:00 PM

Thank you L'Oreal!!!! I bought this shampoo and conditioner after researching what products would save my dry, color-treated hair. My hair suddenly rebelled against being colored and I was shocked. The color I used turned my hair green (my fault) but then parts of my hair seemed fried! It was one of those situations where you figure you might as well go grey and not use another styling product again. I couldn't restore it with ANYTHING! This shampoo is perfect for restoring moisture. Thank you MUA posters, you're the best. Bottom line, if you're having more bad hair days than good, you'll LOVE this. It is amazing. I have soft shiny hair again!!! I will update when I get brave enough to blow dry and flat iron again with it.

Moisturizers -Ponds - Mend and Defend Intensive Protection SPF 15 Moisturizer
rated 4 of 5
aaren 5/30/2007 11:32:00 AM

I bought this because it has SPF and got good reviews. However I am getting more breakouts after using it for two weeks now. SPF is so important - and it protects my face 100%. But what good does it do me if now I have little white bumps in my t-zone? Not sure if I'm going to continue using it or not. It's a tradeoff - sun protection and mild acne.

Shampoo -Finesse - Moisturizing Shampoo
rated 5 of 5
aaren 2/10/2007 12:19:00 PM

Unquestionably the best shampoo on the market. I have to say I've tried at least 75% of the drugstore brands (tresemme, H&S, pantene, garnier, V05, pert, suave, herbal essences, etc.) and Finesse is the best!!! It really is. Anything else I've tried that claims to be "oh so hydrating" or super-moisturizing is no where as effective as this shampoo and conditioner. I color and highlight my own hair and then when I have time I love to straighten it. For MANY months I watched my hair get a little drier, then drier still and I tried a lot of brands to humbly try and restore some shine and softness to my hair. And Finesse is that "miracle shampoo" that repaired my hair. It's SO healthy and soft. The straw-like parts of my hair are as healthy as the new hair at the scalp. I admit I bounce around a lot but I'll never stray from Finesse again. It smells great too. EDIT: Of course. Now my local grocery store, Target and drugstore don't carry Finesse. Just my luck. &$*&@&*#

Shampoo -Head and Shoulders - Smooth and Silky 2 in 1
rated 3 of 5
aaren 2/10/2007 12:12:00 PM

I didn't really like this shampoo. I don't have dry scalp or dandruff but I was intrigued by the great reviews. If it's that moisturizing, surely it would do wonders for my sometimes-dry normal hair. As soon as I rinsed the product out of my hair I knew I'd made a mistake. My hair felt like straw. I had been using a great shampoo & conditioner before this that I am RUNNING back to. I color and highlight my hair myself and my hair doesn't need any funky ingredients added to it that don't leave my hair soft. Ewww. Maybe it works wonders for other hair types?

Powder -Revlon - Age Defying Powder
rated 5 of 5
aaren 1/28/2007 9:40:00 AM

I absolutely love this powder. I gave up on loose mineral powder. And I figured there had to be something between my standard cover girl compact, and the "air brush" effect of a mineral powder. And this is it. It's a little more expensive, and in this case it is very worth it. It absolutely covers evenly and softly and makes my pores disappear. I LOVE IT.

Styling Products -TRESemme - Tres Spray SUper Hold
rated 5 of 5
aaren 1/10/2007 1:48:00 PM

The Tres Spray spritz is my very very favorite - the only HG hair spray product I use. It's so amazing. I spray it where I want a part to stay, or a straight style, or some extra volume or to keep a curl in place. It keeps it's hold and volume and it feels like absolutely nothing in my hair. It's lightweight and works SO well. Nothing compares to it. I couldn't get along without it. The price is right too.

Toners -Olay - Daily Facials Clarity Purifying Toner
rated 5 of 5
aaren 1/10/2007 1:41:00 PM

You know, in defense of this product I have to say it's awesome at stopping acne, especially big ones that just appear overnight like on my jawline. I tried the Nivea one (in the pink bottle) that gets rave reviews but I went right back to the Olay formula. The pink one is so "gentle" that it doesn't do anything for my occasional acne. Olay knocks it out immediately. The next day the blemish is gone. So I have to say it's the best at what it claims to do. As for the drying I use Creamy Vaseline as a face moisturizer (my HG for sure) and my skin is instantly supple again. Give this a second look. Other toners are actually too mild, IMHO. Just be sure you follow up with this product with a good moisturizer. Your skin will look perfect-o!!!

Lotions/ Creams -Vaseline - Creamy Formula
rated 5 of 5
aaren 1/10/2007 1:36:00 PM

This is an honest to goodness HG face moisturizer. I go back and forth with products trying to get the one that "does it all" like Neutrogena and Olay and L'Oreal. But I'm the happiest I've ever been with a face cream now that I'm using this. It is on the thicker side but I haven't had ONE breakout in a month from it. I use it after the 2% salayic acid toner I use. The toner knocks out my breakouts but is very drying. But the lotion restores all moisture -- SO my skin looks better than ever. Thanks Vaseline!!!

Skincare - Body -Dove - Energy Glow Body Wash
rated 3 of 5
aaren 1/10/2007 1:29:00 PM

I bought this on impulse. There were so many to choose from on the shelf. I liked the fact that it said it would renew my skin and bring out it's glow or something like that. It just doesn't do any of those. I think what I really wanted was an exfoliating body wash. The smell was just sort of musky and creamy. Not my style.

Shampoo -Neutrogena - Anti-Residue Shampoo
rated 4 of 5
aaren 9/19/2006 11:29:00 AM

Definitely a fav of mine. First time I used this was during the summer. It was tucked in my swimming pool bag. After I got out of the pool I'd shower and my hair was completely baby soft and felt so clean. The one lippie off is for the scent. Smells like the generic liquid soap in public bathrooms. But it's a lifesaver once a week for me. Love it. Will always have it on hand.

Shampoo -Clairol - Herbal Essences Dangerously Straight Shampoo [DISCONTINUED]
rated 3 of 5
aaren 9/10/2006 4:39:00 PM

Everything about this product is attractive. But, my hair has enough natural wave in it that I knew even this great formula would fail in the end. First time I tried it I dried my hair and straightened it and it looked really nice (the same as it does with pretty much any other shampoo I use). So today I washed it and let it dry naturally. My hair looked pin straight for a while, but as my hair dried the waves came back. As it stands now, my hair (AGAIN!) looks the same as it does with any other shampoo. I've said it before and I need to stick by it, all shampoos are the same. I have a bunch of different things I've tried and none of them render my hair shiny and silky. So I won't be repurchasing this shampoo. Bottom line, doesn't work any better than other products out there. If you have wavy hair, then you know that none of the other products work either. =)
