Liquid -Maybelline - Fit Me Foundation
Zoorkitty 5/3/2013 1:04:00 AM
maybe i am not ideal candidate to comment on a foundation. ok I have dry/normal skin, few pores and no blemishes. But I am a makeup junkie and fill my emotional eating with applying makeup (zero calories right ?) I KNOW good products from bad, and generally find Clinique, Bobbi Brown and Maybelline rarely disappoint. Loreal disappoints me EVERY time. This foundation is gorgeous on my skin because I LOVE subtle dewy/glow finish and now dont need to spend $$$$ on the MAC Mineralise - for the same dewy finish. I bought the 300 range - all 3. the lightest one, 310 centre of my face highlights beautifully, the 325 (pinkish tone) covers my smudging eyeliner well (colour correction) so no need to futz around with a concealer and I set it with Bobbi Brown Warn natural powder. I will use the darkest one in the range to 'contour; and update you. I am NC 40 skintone. Packaging was rated low because I do NOT like the bottle with such a huge mouth. I need a wee bit anyway

Eye Primer -BeneFit Cosmetics - Stay Don't Stray
Zoorkitty 3/2/2013 2:19:00 AM
Review as a eyelid primer: Start off by saying I used to love Benefit but now I am slowly getting a wee bit disappointed. There claims don't seem to stand up for a few of their product this one being one of them. Yesterday I wore it over my eyelids and then applied a Maxfactor cream eyeshadow. It creased in 2 hours. I have seen this happen with powder shadows too. I do have oily eyelids, dry to combo everywhere else, no blemished or acne or anything. So generally well behaved skin. The main job of a primer is to not let shadow 'stray' so whats up benefit ? I will try it under eye and review how it behaved. I have drier under eye....but oily lids.

Bronzers -MAC - Bronzing Powder
Zoorkitty 2/21/2013 5:43:00 AM
Hello MAC I love you, did you know that ? I have this bronzing powder in MATTE. For my NC42/43 skin tone. I use it to contour. its Subtle but you see shadows ! Not a "look at me I have a sculpted face" I am not sure about longevity, I need to check that. IMHO I think Creams do that better than powders but I will confirm. I apply with an angled brush

Treatments -Clinique - Even Better Clinical Dark Spot Corrector
Zoorkitty 2/21/2013 5:35:00 AM
44 and medium-dark skintone. MAC NC 42/43. Normal- Dry skin. I gave this a 3 lippies because I heard it doesnt reduce Dark Circles, but time will tell. At which point I might give it 5 lippies. But then really nothing CAN reduce dark circles. This cream comes in a slight tint which is really lovely. Has a silicone feel to it which I love. The colour blends into my circles reducing them a bit. I dont have heavy circles but do have LINES ! I love the packaging- the applicator tip of the tube, gives a nice soft feel when you 'massage' it on your under eye area. I am really happy. My current Boing concealer is horrible. drying and creasing. So I usually put this cream on, add Bobbi Brown's Tinted Eye Brightner in Peach and off I go. It doesnt cover completely, nope, and I do have LIGHT circles, but does wake up the eye.

Eye Shadow -Revlon - CustomEyes Revlon Eye Shadow in Smoky Sexy
Zoorkitty 2/11/2013 5:18:00 AM
Revlon custom eyes smokey sexy palette is the worst product ever. It's cheap but please buying a burrito or hotdog is money better spent. The colours are lovely but they don't apply!!! No pigment, fallout...it's like no powder, no colour, eye shadow. How did a company like Revlon get it sooooo wrong. (Just read its made in china...hmmm ok explains) Basic job of a eye shadow to deposit colour...get it Colour. It's impossible. The whole thing is like a water colour wash....it's a wash. They could have just had a metal grey as the colour.....because all the colours come out a light shade of grey. I hate throwing things away so I use my Bobbi Brown gel liner brush to line my eyes with the dark grey and black. The upper lids, where its difficult for me to line with a pencil the shadow does a good job.

Treatments -Estee Lauder - Idealist Even Skintone Illuminator
Zoorkitty 2/6/2013 6:14:00 AM
Things I have learnt. Makeup is about perception. If you think it works it works..if not it doesnt. Also dark circles, uneven skin tone etc etc...usually clears up when your insides are clean (if not genetic) and lifestyle. HOWEVER makeup does lift - our faces and our spirits. anyway back to the review. Glad to say I bought a small sample size same price as a packet of biscuits. In HK they dont give you anything free, rather "sell" the samples. No biggie. I like the "illumination" .I can see where the shimmer ? sparkles ? shiny bits ? hits the light and bounces off my face. Gold-y colour for my NC42-43 skin tone. Not sure about "even-ing" out the skin tone. I cant make out unless I take my mirror out in the park under normal daylight. I cant. I live in a concrete jungle ! I have a darker forehead and chin-lip area...and...no difference...I think ! I cant tell if my tone has been evened out. What is supposed to happen ? I try my baclony. And under every different light (even day-natural light) and a magnified mirror my face looks different depending on clouds and angles ! Would I buy it again, probably not because I prefer the subtler -dwewy finish of Benefit Girls Meets Pearl. Iridescent rather than gold.

Primer/ Corrector -BeneFit Cosmetics - That Gal
Zoorkitty 2/5/2013 3:47:00 AM
ok this is the deal. I am new to makeup. My 20 year makeup routine being Clinique Turnaround Lotion, eyeliner/eye pencil, lipstick/gloss. I have recently discovered the world of concealers primers foundation highlighter etc post receiving a Benefit pack as a Christmas gift from the MIL. So obviously like a child before christmas, I am trying every sample the pack contains. Pleasantly surprised with Cha Cha Tint, Stay dont Stray and Pore-fessional. That Gal however..hmm is bleah ! I am an NC43 skintone so the Pink underlay does give me ah ashy look. (probably brightens cold undertones ?) Also if anyone uses Porefessional you DONT need That Gal. The brightening is subtle so not really worth much and you should continue to use the primers you currently use. However I just discovered this. It brightens my under eye area better than oo la lift (what's that again, did I even apply anything) . While I am not repurchasing this (going to buy Dior Skinflash) I will continue to apply undereye for. Perk me up.

Crème -BeneFit Cosmetics - Some Kind-A Gorgeous
Zoorkitty 2/4/2013 9:40:00 AM
Ok I have given it a high rating but wouldn't buy it again, why? I have combination-dry skin and would def not use it as a foundation. I felt a layer on my face and I hate that feeling, hence never wear foundation. But I used it to contour (attempt to contour) and I like the way to blends and disappears. The cream to powder feeling. The MA in hongkong are clueless about my med-deep skin tone and only know how to push product. Anyway she sold the darkest shade (available) as a contour cream...... As a contour cream I love the texture and feel but it doesn't contour my nc43 skin tone, because its only a wee bit darker than my natural tone. It needs to be more dark to give it the shadow effect. i think Some Kinda Gorgeous in this shade only gives me a subtle shadow/contour but i like the Posh Spice (Vic Beckham) contour look, so,... Most annoying. Infact when she sold it to me I don't even know it was just a foundation and not a contour cream. Stupid me. I think I would love it if this was one more shade darker and gave me some real contours. EDIT: I have now learnt that foundations and matte bronzers CAN/ARE used for contouring, so ignore above remark.

Cleansers -Boots - No7 Quick Thinking 4 in 1 Wipes - All Skin Types
Zoorkitty 2/3/2013 10:20:00 AM
Terrible rough textured wipes, burns my skin. Going back to VitE Body Shop wipes...gentle as a feather. Quick thinking does remove makeup better than the VitE Body Shop wipes though but I can.not bear the rough texture. Like powdered glass. Again why make the wipes so rough ?

Eye Shadow -Bobbi Brown - Metallic Long-Wear Cream Shadow in Pink Oyster
Zoorkitty 2/3/2013 10:11:00 AM
I have so many gripes about this omg Can anyone tell me how to apply this? Firstly if you slightly long finger nails you can not pick up the product. They should have had it like a compact not a pot! Secondly it doesn't spread well atall. Patchy infact and you get huge gobs of metal and then other areas nothing. Looks terrible when that happens. And loads of fall out, end of evening I have the shimmer all over my under eye and cheeks.....nice but not necessary. I have most of the product intact, mainly because trying to pick it with my fingers isn't going well. Doesn't apply we'll.......at...all...with a brush. How did anyone like this ?

Eyeliner -Bobbi Brown - Gel Eyeliner
Zoorkitty 2/3/2013 10:04:00 AM
Will not buy this again. My 3rd bottle, hard as a rock! It's ridiculous. Of course I screw the top on tight. It wears beautifully, no smudge, gorgeous, lasts for days (haha) and then before you know it....rock hard. After so long one would assume they would have worked the formula out! I am investing in the Clinique one..someone recommended it here. Got good reviews. Or maybe even Revlon Colour Stay. Actually Colour stay will be my next purchase....the brush applicator does irritate my water line a bit. Pencils are quicker. If Revlon smudges then will have to rethink....Maxfactor ? Clinique? We shall see. But BB bye bye

Highlighters -BeneFit Cosmetics - Girl Meets Pearl
Zoorkitty 2/3/2013 9:57:00 AM
I absolutely love love this product. The packaging the impact the effect. I love dewy. Currently I dab it one, sheer, with a wet sponge. Maybe a stippling brush would give it a better effect. I avoid my shiny forehead....and use the Porefessional around my cheeks, before I dab it on....otherwise it will illuminate lines and pores. Wear it without makeup. Suits dark to med dark skin tones because of the champagne glow. It's not shimmer, it's glow. This Benefit have nailed the 'glow' formula.

Concealers -MAC - PRO Conceal and Correct Palette
Zoorkitty 2/3/2013 9:51:00 AM
I have only just bought this palette because I realized I needed a corrector for my Boing no. 4 concealer. I bought medium-deep, perfect for my nc43 tone. Very happy with it. Not heavy not cakey and lots of colors for me to mix and match to my tone. Weirdly enough the Boings yellow undertone gives me a brighter lift than even the correct Mac concealer colour that comes in this palette. So I use the corrector and then Boing....(which settles in my creases, pretty annoyed with my Boing) Fair to say this doesn't brighten just conceals, maybe because its not an under eye specific concealer. UPDATE: changed to NO for repurchase and rating to 3. Its just too drying for me ( will update again once the HK humid sweaty weather starts) also the correction is not great considering I have such light circles to begin with.

Treatments (Eye) -Clinique - All About Eyes Serum De-Puffing Eye Massage
Zoorkitty 2/3/2013 9:42:00 AM
I have had this product for nearly 3 years. My bags are the same! I am not sure i will buy this (will invest the cash on other clinique products I want). Granted I smoke, don't sleep well, rather have very disturbed sleep and sometimes dont drink enough water. So maybe it's just me. I love the roller. I know Garnier eye roller got good reviews but Clinique suits my skin better, so will invest in need to start reading reviews for other depuffing eye cream. Caveat: if I feel my bags becoming bigger(no please god!) then I might repurchase.
