My skin has always been pretty sensitive, and now as I've grown older, and am now living in a different climate than I used to, my skin has become extremely dry, and dull. This has made me rethink my entire skin care routine. I read the glowing reviews of this on Sephora.com and decided to purchase the small $3 bottle to give it a try. My idea was to use this instead of washing my face with a regular cleanser once in awhile, to help keep my skin from getting stripped and dried out further. Well, I've used this a few times now, both to remove makeup, and to just clean/freshen my face, and I am really happy with the results! It's very mild, I don't notice any scent, and it leaves my face really clean and not the least bit dried out. I don't feel any oily residue after I use it so, I never rinse my face afterward. I will more than likely purchase a larger bottle of this, once I run out, and even use it to replace the Olay wet facial cloths that I sometimes use.
Now that I live in a place that has central air/heat, my skin gets very dry, but I do still have an issue with occasional breakouts. Trying to find skincare that keeps my face balanced, has been a huge struggle for me. So much so, that I was honestly just ready to give up on washing my face daily. Luckily, I was able to swap for a little 1 oz. bottle of this cleanser. I have been using it in the morning, daily, and all I can say is wow. To use it, I first wet my face and hands, then I squeeze about a quarter size amount onto my fingers, then later it a little before I rub it all over my face. I actually love that this cleanser has a light lather, so it's not messy, doesn't take a long time to rinse off, and doesn't migrate into my eyes. I love the little bit of warming sensation this gives. To me, the scent is a very light rose scent, which I love, and thankfully, it doesn't bother my sensitive skin at all. After I use this, I pat on my skin the Tarte- Pure Maracuja Oil, and this simple combo seems to be the HG for me! Just yesterday, I saw myself in the mirror and was HAPPY to see how nice my skin is looking. That, I have to say, is a first for me! I will most definitely purchase the full size bottle of this & recommend it to everyone. 1 lippie off for the price, but for what it's done for my skin, it really is worth it.
Eye Primer -Urban Decay - Eyeshadow Primer Potion - Original (UDPP)

This rating is for the older, doe foot applicator in the plastic bottle version. My latest experience with the UDPP was last night. I used it all over my eyelid, and eye area, before putting on 3 different shades of UD eyeshadow, and my UD 24/7 eyeliner. I went to a concert, danced in a warm venue for a few hours, and had to walk in the rain for several minutes before and after the show. When I got home I was half expecting my eye makeup to be at least somewhat of a mess after the night I had, even though I had used this. I can honestly say that all of my eyeshadow and eyeliner was still perfectly smooth and in place! Even with the price that it is, I think that Urban Decay Primer Potion is amazing stuff, and I will continue to use and purchase it in the future.
In the past, I've used Nature's Gate before and really loved the smell, texture, and how my hair felt after use. The only thing that kept me from buying Nature's Gate all the time was the price for the amount of product. Well, during these past Fall/Winter months, I had a little bit of that pesky itchy scalp that some other people experience. I never saw any sign of dandruff so, I didn't want to use something that was medicated or would be really harsh for my hair and scalp..I'm so glad that I bought this! It smells really fresh, lathers like a champ, and more importantly for me, has made my itchy scalp issues a thing of the past. My hair looks clean and bouncy after I use this and I love that.
These have been a HG staple for me, for years now. I have sensitive skin so I don't like to wash my face with water activated cleansers more than once a day, if I can help it. These Olay- Wet Cleansing Towelettes in Sensitive, really help me keep my face clean and fresh without any nasty fragrances or ingredients that could cause my face to breakout. These are so good that they remove every trace of even waterproof makeup. I just make sure to go over my entire face two or three times with one, and voilà! my face is clean and fresh. I also love that these never sting my eyes when I am using one to remove my eye makeup. My only wish is that the packaging for these had an actual seal of some kind to keep the cloths from drying out if they aren't used fairly quickly, but I find that if I keep the package closed and then in a ZIploc baggie, they last me months!
I just re-discovered this lipstick in my makeup stash the other day. I opened it and thought "I really like this colour. I need to wear it more often." It's really close to the same shade as my natural lip colour, which I really like because it helps to balance out my darker eye makeup. I put this on before leaving the house for about 4 hours, and it didn't come off until I started eating/drinking. It goes on smooth, and it can be layered for more colour payoff, if need be. I wish I could find this shade and buy another one for when mine runs out.
Cleansers -Neutrogena - Naturals Cleanser + Makeup Remover
Zoaie 4/9/2013 8:10:00 PM
Like any product that has the word "Natural" or similar on it- it does not mean that the product contains only 100% naturally derived ingredients. Each of the Neutrogena Naturals items says clearly on the package, what percentage of natural ingredients are in it. This cleanser contains 90% naturally derived ingredients. I used this cleanser all last Summer, and not only did I love the scent of it (it smelled a bit like apple to me), it also took off my foundation, and kept my face feeling perfectly balanced, not tight nor oily.I would recommend it for a refreshing, Summertime cleanser.
I purchased this for my boyfriend, as part of a birthday gift. I could only afford the 2ml vial which was okay, because even though both of us love patchouli, neither of us had ever tried this one before. I have to say, this is a total winner. The oil itself is lush, and easy to apply, and the scent is warm, rich, and not overwhelming at all. We both found that is lasts all day, and into the night on each of us. This is the only perfume type item so far, that both my boyfriend and I can agree on and wear. We really should save up for a larger bottle of it! One lippie off for the price, but I really do love this stuff.
This fragrance is most definitely not for everyone. If you prefer light, floral, citrus, or sweet fragrances, I would highly recommend that you try a sample of this before you think of investing in an bottle of Prada. That being said, I absolutely love this fragrance (and the matching body lotion)! I am a huge fan of patchouli, and deep, earthy scents, and this fits that bill for me just beautifully. If I had to describe it, I would say that it is a very rich, earthy, and strong fragrance. On me, one spray goes a long way, and it lasts so long that I can even smell it on my clothes for a day or two after wearing it. Very well worth the price, in my book.
I own this in the Portofino Porcelain shade. Although this foundation may seem a little pricey for the amount in the tube, a very little of this goes a very long way. Also, the fact that it has an SPF of 20, means I don't have to spend extra $ on buying a separate sunscreen. I use about 3-4 dots worth and that covers my entire face. I only use this in the Summer months, when I don't want my foundation to sweat off or look greasy. The consistency of this is pretty thick so, I like to smooth on a layer of oil free face lotion, let that absorb completely, then put the foundation over that. It stays on until I wash it off with a really good cleanser. I would highly recommend trying out a set of the Illuminaré- Trial Size Foundation Introductory Pack first, so you can test which formula/shade will work best for you, before investing in a full size tube.
Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm was my introduction to the brand. I find the consistency of this lip balm to be perfect- firm, and smooth, not soft and waxy like Chapstick. It makes it easy to apply and I find that it is a lot less likely to melt in my purse than a softer lip balm would. I keep one on my desk, because I love the tingling sensation and the invigorating pick-me-up (aromatherapy) that I get from the peppermint oil in this. During certain times of year where I now live, we have the AC going one day, and the heater going the next. Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm has kept my lips from drying out or cracking, all through this Winter! I just can't be without my Burt's Bees lip balms.
Conditioner -Paul Mitchell - Super Skinny Daily Treatment Conditioner

I have thick, usually about shoulder length hair that always seems to have an issue with frizz and flyaways. I purchased this (and the matching shampoo) at a salon. As I said in the review for the shampoo, my hair always felt really dried out (stripped) when I would use it. While this matching conditioner did seem to help re-moisten my hair a little bit, it did nothing to help prevent my hair from becoming frizzy and having flyaways.
Shampoo -Paul Mitchell - Super Skinny Daily Shampoo

I have thick, usually about shoulder length hair that always seems to have an issue with frizz and flyaways. I purchased this (and the matching conditioner) at a salon. The shampoo does have a really nice scent, but each time I used it my hair felt really dried out. I tried it for a few weeks, but just ended up passing it along to a family member. For the price and the name, I expected a lot more. I would never purchase the Super Skinny shampoo again.
Gels/Soaps -Dr. Bronner's - dr bronners assorted scented castille soaps
Zoaie 4/1/2013 11:46:00 PM
My boyfriend has been using the giant 32 fl. oz bottle of the Dr. Bronner's Magic Peppermint Soap, as a body wash for years now. His skin is always so soft and clean. I have super sensitive skin on my face- dry here, occasional break-out there...so, recently decided to get the small 4 fl. oz. bottle of the Tea Tree version of this soap to see what (if anything) it could do for my face. I've been using daily for about 2 weeks now, and it seems to be helping calm my face down quite a bit. My cheeks aren't so red and the dryness on my forehead is almost gone. A very tiny amount of this stuff goes a very long way, and the oils in it are very concentrated so they work really well. I would definitely recommend anyone with sensitive/combo or oily skin, get a small 2 or 4 oz bottle of this and give it a try! If you find that don't like it for your face, there are tons of other great uses for it. I just discovered that a few drops of this with water make an excellent makeup brush cleaner!
BB Cream -Garnier - BB Cream Miracle Skin Perfector - Light/Medium
Zoaie 3/31/2013 6:17:00 PM
I'm still really on the fence about the Garnier BB Cream. First of all, I lived in California when I bought this, and for some reason, I had a heck of a time finding the Light/Medium shade in stock anywhere. I finally found some, and was really excited to try it. I have fair-ish skin and the tone of this BB Cream was a bit dark for me, but since I used it in the Summer, it wasn't too bad. I was a little surprised by how thick the consistency was, but I just learned to use a very small amount at a time. As I've grown a little older, my skin has turned from oily all the time, to more combination. This BB Cream goes on with a dewy finish, and it seemed to last nearly all day on me. I really wish the SPF were higher (like the Maybelline- SPF 30). Between the low SPF and slightly too dark for me shade, I don't think I would repurchase.
