Liquid -L'Oreal - True Match Super-Blendable Makeup SPF 17
rated 5 of 5

When I first heard about True Match, I was skeptical, but when I found a coupon for it, I decided to purchase it on a whim. I wasn't expecting much, but after using it for a little over a month, this little bottle of liquid foundation surprised me!

COLOR: I was previously using MUFE Mat Velvet which was okay, but not the best color match. I bought W4 in True Match and it's very, very close to my skintone. It has yellow undertones and not a bit of pink in it either. For reference, I am a MAC NC35, Armani LSF #6, Body & Soul #5.

FINISH & COVERAGE: It dries to a powdery, soft finish, which is perfect for my oily skin. It's very blendable & natural. For a light finish, I apply a few dots on my cheeks & t-zone. However, when I need a bit more coverage, I add more foundation. It's easy to build coverage without it looking cakey or unnatural.

I have oily skin & I occasionally break out, especially during that time of the month, but I haven't had any clogged pores or breakouts due to True Match.

CONS: The only negative aspect of this product is the packaging. I would have prefered a squeeze tube or pump bottle, but this isn't that big of an issue.

PROS: The color match, natural finish, & blendability of this product has won me over. I'll continue to purchase this!

Brows -Anastasia Of Beverly Hills - Anastasia Five Item Brow Kit
rated 5 of 5
YolandaMC 8/28/2003 10:51:00 PM

I've never thought twice about my brows. Sure, I got them professionally waxed & plucked on occasion, but nothing more. Then, on one frightful day, I overplucked my right eyebrow. In fact, there was a bald spot. At that moment, I realized how important eyebrows are - they frame the face & the shape of them can dramatically change the way you look. So, I took the plunge & ordered this kit.

The tweezers and the brow brush alone are worth the price of the entire kit. The pink slanted tweezer plucked out every single menacing brow hair, even fine, baby hairs. Out of the 4 stencils in the kit, the petite brow worked well. The kit included a powder compact in "Brunette", which matched my black brows perfectly. The slanted brush was stiff & I was able to apply the powder in a snap. Finally, the gel held my brows in place without being too stiff or sticky. All in all, this kit is a must needed addition to any makeup collection. It's everything you need for the PERFECT brows. :)

Stila consistently wows me with their e/s brushes. This brush is perfect for all over washes or even adding a highlight under thr brow. It's soft & never sheds, even through multiple washings - the quality is amazing.

Makeup Brushes -Stila - #15 Double-Ended Brush
rated 5 of 5

If you can only afford 1 Stila brush, get this. The larger end is perfect for applying e/s washes. The smaller, pointed end is so soft. I dampen the brush to line my eyes, but I prefer to use this end to apply crease colors. This truly is a multi-use brush. The versatility & quality is the best. It's perfect for toting around in your work bag or bringing on vacation.

Makeup Brushes -Stila - #9 Blender Brush

I dislike having obvious lines when I use crease colors. This helps to smooth & soften the edges to perfect my e/s look. It's ultra soft & I have also used this as a crease brush as well. I highly recommend this.

Makeup Brushes -MAC - #217 Blending
rated 5 of 5

I love this brush! Using small, circular motions in the crease, the MAC MA applied e/s in the crease & outer crease. I was so surprised how the e/s was perfectly blended without any harsh lines, so of course, I snatched this brush up for myself. This is quickly becoming my favorite e/s brush. It's worth every penny!

Eye Shadow -MAC - Espresso
rated 5 of 5
YolandaMC 7/1/2003 2:38:00 AM

Yessss! This deep, matte brown e/s does resemble espresso. It is amazing for filling my sparse eyebrows, lining my eyes, & even in the crease. I like to pair this with Soft Brown (in the crease) & Brule (to highlight) for an everyday, neutral look. I consistently reach for this e/s. Don't pass this up!

Eye Shadow -MAC - Pigment in Blue Brown
rated 3 of 5
YolandaMC 7/1/2003 2:35:00 AM

Wow, this is really bad. Blue Brown reminds me of a fly. Yes, that annoying insect, so why would I want to apply that on my lids? It is a shimmery, irridescent blue/brown/red that's very complex & unique... & completely unflattering for my skintone.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Soft Brown
rated 5 of 5
YolandaMC 7/1/2003 2:33:00 AM

When I was given a makeover, the MA suggested this shade. I normally equate matte with boring, but this medium brown shade with a touch of peach is anything but boring. I love to pair this with a shimmery e/s base to balance out an overly shimmery/glittery e/s. It's a beautiful neutral for everyday use. Don't pass this one up!

Eye Shadow -MAC - Pigment in Frost
rated 3 of 5

This is one pigment that greatly disappointed me. The glitter bits were way to chunky & I ended up with pigment all over my cheeks. If you want a highlighter, get Vanilla instead.

Blush -MAC - Tokoyo Rose Cheek Jelly
rated 3 of 5
YolandaMC 7/1/2003 2:29:00 AM

Why, MAC, why? This is the worst gel blush I have ever used. It's difficult to apply & it cakes up throughout the day. The lasting powder is next to nothing. The concept of sheer, gel blush is great in theory, but the product is mediocre.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Rose Pro Pigment Powder
rated 5 of 5
YolandaMC 7/1/2003 2:26:00 AM

I'm not to fond of any rose/pink shades on my eyes, but Rose looks AMAZING on my lips. I dip my lipbalm into the jar for a sheer, golden rose lipcolor. I love dabbing a bit of Rose on my lips (after I apply gloss or lipstick) to create a unique, complex lip look. This is a definite must have color!

Eye Shadow -MAC - Coco Beach pigment
rated 5 of 5
YolandaMC 7/1/2003 2:22:00 AM

Besides Tan, Coco Beach is a pigment that I reach for often. This deep, shimmery bronze looks wonderful in the crease with Tan or Melon or even used wet as a dramtic liner. With the other pigments, one jar is enough to last a lifetime and then some. The pigmentation is fabulous, too.

Highlighters -MAC - All Over Gloss in Frost Warming
rated 3 of 5
YolandaMC 6/30/2003 8:34:00 PM

I received a generous sample of this from a wonderful swapper. I have oily skin, so I normally stay away from products like this. The color is gorgeous, but it was a big sticky mess when I applied in on my cheeks. Yuck. I much prefer Armani Fluid Sheers to highlight.

Lipstick -Giorgio Armani - Sheer Lipstick
rated 5 of 5
YolandaMC 6/30/2003 1:55:00 PM

I bought this in #3. On my lips, it looks like a sheer, cherry stain. You know how your lips turn a bit on the red side when eating a popsicle? This is a more muted, wearable version in a tube. Like the MAC Lustre l/s that I love, the Sheer l/s are extra moisturizing, so there's no need to apply lipbalm underneath. When I do want a matte finish, however, I simply blot my lips for a slighter lighter version.
