Other -MAC - Back-2-MAC Recycling Program

For me I figure if I'm going to be buying mac products anyway, I might as well getting something for free out of it. Overall though I think six is alot to ask for, considering how long it takes you to go through things like lipsticks and eyeshadows, although I build up empties alot faster with brow products and skincare. In terms of people saying that they couldn't get anything other than a lipstick for their empties, you can only get shadows and lipglasses at freestanding stores, not at counters or online. As well as the issue with some stores/counters not accepting shadows without the pans, I've never had that issue even though I've depotted all my shadows. Granted the way I do it does not deform the pot in any way, but still it should not be an issue. I also think it's unfair that online they only list certain items that can be returned, but in store you can bring in any empty that you have, not just lip/eyeshadow/fndt/blush/mascara products.

Palettes -Coastal Scents - Ultra Shimmer 88 eye shadow palette
rated 5 of 5
XxDeathXAngelxX 2/14/2012 7:49:00 PM

I really enjoy using this palette, it gives me tons of colors to play with can create nearly unlimited looks with this. The pigmentation of the shadows is great, and I don't notice much fallout(although it doesn't bother me anyway). Each shadow is about the size of a dime, which although small, is a reasonable size considering how many shadows there are. So overall I really enjoy this palette. And to all of those of you that are complaining about the shimmer in any way, this is the SHIMMER pallet, if you don't like shimmer, why'd you buy it?

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Naked 2 Palette
rated 4 of 5
XxDeathXAngelxX 2/12/2012 7:05:00 PM

It took me forever to get ahold of the first naked palette so when I heard this one was coming out I made sure I got my hands on it. Honestly I really like this palette. The cool shades make it really great for winter and look great on my cool toned skin, plus I'm a huge fan of taupes. The packaging is great imo, study exterior that closes pretty securely and I really like the size of the mirror. The only thing I have against this is that I find its not as easy to create everyday, quick looks with it as it is with the original naked, but I'm sure as I play with it more that will change. This pallet is also great for travel. In terms of the price it is kind of a pricey item overall ($60 CAN) but considering how many shadows you get and the quality of them it's actually a pretty good deal. I also really like the fact that they didn't include another primer this time, I've moved away from using the UDPP and this way I got to try one of their lipglosses (which I really like btw). The brush is also pretty decent, for all those saying it's a pretty crappy brush, I'm surprised . The brush included is a combo (as its double sided) of two of the regular UD brushes, and while the one end isn't super great with powder shadows, it works great with my cream ones.

Cleansers -Philosophy - Purity Made Simple (Real Purity Cleanser)
rated 3 of 5
XxDeathXAngelxX 2/4/2012 8:13:00 PM

Not the best cleanser, not the worst. Very gentle, great packaging, but just nothing special. I use it with my clarisonic and sure it gets all my makeup off, but other cleansers just work better.

Skincare - Face -Pro Activ - 3-Step System
rated 4 of 5
XxDeathXAngelxX 1/19/2012 1:52:00 AM

I used proactive a long time ago and never really liked it, it dried out my skin too much. But recently I was struggling with some breakouts and my friend suggested this to me as it has been her new found skin savior apparently (and shes right about EVERYTHING) so I gave it a try, and its awesome! My skin is actually clear now, (except for during that time of the month). Some tips though - even with oily skin using it 2x a day right away was too much for my skin. had to start with using the cleanser in the am and the toner and treatment in the pm for a couple weeks. Even doing this initially my skin was a bit flaky and dry until it adjusted to the products. So if your skin is not tolerating it so well at first you do have to wait it out to see results. Also, make sure you follow with a moisturizer, the treatment lotion IS NOT a moisturizer at all (I use the sephora instant moisturizer in the am and philosophys when hope is not enough in the pm). The only thing I really have against this product is that I initially bought the 30 day trial set (half size set) to see if it would work for me, and I thought that it would be a good set to refill and use for travel, but the cleanser and toner bottles don't open and can't be refilled unfortunately (but I will be reusing the treatment lotion bottle when traveling). Cost for the full size set is aprox. $65 CAN

Primer/ Corrector -Tarte - Clean Slate
rated 3 of 5
XxDeathXAngelxX 1/17/2012 2:25:00 AM

Not a bad product. Goes on super smooth, holds makeup in place. My issues are it doesn't keep oil at bay AT ALL, leaves my hands feeling greasy after I apply it, doesn't do much for pores, and the packaging is TERRIBLE. once you use more than about a third you can barely squeeze any more out, the tube is just too stiff. I'm going back to my TF primed and poreless.

Highlighters -NARS - The Multiple in Copacabana
rated 5 of 5
XxDeathXAngelxX 1/6/2012 12:16:00 AM

FINALLY. a highlighter I love ! this is the only highlighter I own that actually shows up and is easy to blend. every other highlighter I own either barely shows up (and im PPP) or is super hard to blend, and look patchy. This is perfect. its a light pink color with lots of shimmer. super easy to apply with the stick form. kinda expensive ($46 CAN) but totally worth it. gives me the glow I've been searching for.

Liquid -Clinique - Even Better Makeup SPF 15
rated 4 of 5
XxDeathXAngelxX 11/28/2011 1:15:00 AM

For reference my skin is combo right now due to the colder weather here, and I have really acne prone skin. Pros: - cheap compared to what I usually buy (dior, ysl, chanel, LM) - good coverage (medium) - great finish (natural-dewy) (and I always set it with powder) - stays on all day Cons: - a bit too dark and yellow for my skin tone (1 wear the shade alabaster) - doesn't set/stays sticky without powder I haven't noticed any skin tone/acne scar improvements but I wear different foundation everyday. Also prefer pump packaging but this is good too. The reason I said I wouldn't not repurchase is because of the color, the one thing I require in a foundation is that its light enough and this just isn't. (For reference I'm nw 10/15 depending on the time of year)(wear MUFE HD shade 110 and its perfect)

Eye Shadow -MAC - Scene Eyeshadow
rated 4 of 5
XxDeathXAngelxX 10/5/2011 3:45:00 PM

First of all I do not understand how people are saying that this is sheer! For me I barely touch my eyeshadow brush to it and it comes out super dark and pigmented! In terms of blendibility it is more difficult than some MAC shadows but thats just because of the finish. It's a decent shadow, although a little more blue than I was going for. All in all a good shadow.

Bronzers -Too Faced - Caribbean in a Compact in Sun Bunny
rated 3 of 5
XxDeathXAngelxX 8/10/2011 9:29:00 PM

Ill start off by saying I have super pale skin and pretty oily skin as well. This bronzer doesn't look orange on me and is super shimmery which I love! The compact is great, stays closed and comes with a mirror. The reason I said I would not repurchase though is because I find that due to my oily skin after wearing for a little while it becomes streaky and uneven, and I'm not about to be carrying my bronzer and bronzer brush around to be touching it up. So while this is definitely a good bronzer, I wouldn't recommend it to people with oily skin.

Liquid -Yves Saint Laurent - TEINT RESIST Long Wear Transfer Resistant Foundation
rated 4 of 5
XxDeathXAngelxX 6/13/2011 3:27:00 PM

This is the best foundation I've ever tried for oily skin. Stays in place all day, great color match, right amount of coverage, has an awesome scent (like roses). Pros: - lasts all day on my oily skin - Good color match - good smell - pump bottle - semi matte finish Cons: - emphasizes dry spots - cap could stay on better Overall I would prefer something maybe a little more dewy but I still really like it!

Liquid -Estee Lauder - Double Wear LIGHT Foundation SPF10
rated 3 of 5
XxDeathXAngelxX 6/13/2011 3:23:00 PM

While it is an okay foundation in terms of staying power, I really don't like this foundation. I have oily skin and I hate how all foundations for oily skin have a matte finish, honestly how hard would it be to make a foundation for oily skin that's oil free and keeps oil at bay. ugh. anyway the other problem with this is that intensity 1.0 is WAY orange on me ! They really need to make some lighter shades.

Liquid -Chanel - Mat Lumiere Long Lasting Luminous Matte Fluid Makeup SPF 15
rated 3 of 5
XxDeathXAngelxX 6/8/2011 10:30:00 PM

While this is a good product, it isnt perfect. I bought this back in September and i wore it till the day the bottle was empty but its not a perfect foundation, starts to kind of melt off during the day and could look cakey in spots. Good color match though.

Blush -BeneFit Cosmetics - Posietint
rated 4 of 5
XxDeathXAngelxX 6/8/2011 2:35:00 PM

I purchased this product after seeing an article in a magazine that said that wearing a cheek stain/tint under your regular powder blush would help it stay on longer (something i've always had an issue with) by giving it some "grip". Well they were right. I can totally see a difference between the days when I wear the tint and when I don't (days when I'm elsewhere and forgot it kind of thing.) Everyday I apply this over my foundation and under my blush and setting powder. I've used it on my lips a couple times and it's ok aswell. It does dry really fast but I've pretty much learned how to work with it so it doesn't streak.

Fragrances -Moschino - I Love Love
rated 5 of 5
XxDeathXAngelxX 6/5/2011 7:42:00 PM

This perfume is my signature scent. Tested it out one day at Sephora and just had to have it. Has a nice light citrus scent that isn't over powering. Love it. It's a little on the pricy side but hey most good perfume is. I really enjoy the bottle itself too, cute and original, although the cap doesn't stay on perfectly all the time.
