The 224 brush is one of my favorite brushes by MAC. I use the brush to apply color in the crease of the eye and sometimes to apply a highlight. The brush applies the shadow nicely but it might be a bit broad to work in the creases for some eyes. The 222 might be better suited for smaller eyes. I have had this brush for 7 years and its still in good shape. I recommend this brush for anyone looking to build a basic brush kit.

Makeup Brushes -MAC - # 239 Eye Shader Brush

The 239 is a great blush. I use it to apply eyeshadow to the lid like most people. MAC brushes are my favorite because they fit the proportion of my face pretty well. This brush is good for both loose and press eyeshadows. The down side is that white bristles tend to stain. The MAC brush cleanser is pretty good at getting most colors out of the brush.

Makeup Brushes -MAC - #217 Blending

This brush by MAC has a lot of different uses. The shape and density of the bristles makes it possible to use both powder and cream products with this brush. I have two of them, one I use to blend concealer under the eyes and another to blend eyeshadow. I have seen this brush used to apply eyeshadow, cream shadow, base etc. It really is a great brush with multiple uses. The brush I bought back in 2006 was a bit shorter than the newer version I bought last year. Still, they both work great for all the purposes I mentioned in the review.

Powder -MAC - Mineralize Skinfinish - Medium Plus

I purchased to powder about 6 months ago and its still going strong. This shade was recommended for my color and I am regularly an NC20/C2. Its warmer than my actual skin tone but it doesn't go on or turn orange on me so its still wearable. I apply it with a synthetic kabuki brush so I get medium coverage. It sets concealer under the eyes and in spots very well. I have oily skin, and while this isn't for blotting skin, it doesn't crease up around the folds of the nose or forehead the way other brands do. I recommend this product.

Mascara -Maybelline - Volum' Express Turbo Boost Waterproof

I have purchased about 3 tubes of this mascara and I love it. I use waterproof mascara because I like to hold curl in my lashes. This product comes off fine with a cleansing oil. The color is very pigmented and gives the lashes a very dramatic look. I used to use MUFE smoky lash but this is a good dupe for it. I love how full and long it makes lashes look.

Lip Liners -MAC - Lipliner in Cherry

Cherry is a true blue red lip liner that goes well with medium toned red lipsticks and lipglosses. Russian Red and Ruby woo look great with this color. To me it has a true vintage red hue and it acts as a great base to strong colors to make them go on consistently and stay on longer.

Lip Liners -MAC - Beet Lip Pencil

This is on of my most used lip liners! Beet is a deep fuchsia color that works great with lipsticks like Girl About Town and other darker pink colors. It also works well when you want a lip color to look less orange. I highly recommend this shade. I use it with a ton of lipsticks and it goes on opaque and true to color.

Lipstick -MAC - Captive

Captive is a nice medium toned reddish plum color. Its similiar to "Legendary Femme" lipstick but a bit darker. I have light olive NC20 skin and I think this color looks great with brown and bronze eye shadow. I recommend this as a nice every day color that will give your lips some definition.

I have to admit this color is frustrating. It looks so nice on lighter skin but the the formula is drying. Luckily you can layer it over a lip balm and it has great staying power. Its a color that I can wear without having to touch it up too often if I wear it over a lip liner as well. I recommend Cherry lip liner to wear with this color. Its a nice blue red and has a classic look to it.

Lipstick -MAC - Amplified Creme - Chatterbox

This is a nice red based pink for light olive NC20 skin. I use this with Cranberry lipliner and its very nice to wear with more subdued eyeshadow looks and soft pink blush. I don't like pinks that are too pastel or milky colored and this one is a bright pink without washing you out. I recommend it for lighter skin

Lipstick -MAC - Viva Glam II

Viva Glam II is an interesting color. It can make you look kinda slickly on its own, but layers with Subculture lipliner with Viva Glam V lip glass its beautiful. It a look that I haven't been able to replicate with other colors. I recommend getting it with the lip glass, very pretty.

Lipstick -MAC - Spirit

Spirit is a great nude to wear that isn't too light. I don't like my lips to look to light but this is great to wear with stronger eye makeup, especially green and gold eyeshadow. I was looking for a replacement for one of my favorite shades "Flattering" mattene by MAC and this came pretty close. It is a little more brown than Flattering but still has a cooler undertone.

I love Twig! I wonder why it took me so long to get this color but its lovely. I am an NC20 and I love wearing this lipstick with bronze and warm brown eye shadow looks.I recommend this to anyone with light olive skin, its a very pretty color.

I love this color. Its the perfect "my lips but better" color. I am an NC20 and I love to wear this color with champagne smoky eyes or any dark eye makeup. I don't like blanking out my lips with very nude colors and this is great to wear with a strong eye without overwhelming the face. I heard MAC is making this permanent and I hope so, its a great color!

Masks -Origins - Clear Improvement

This is a great mask for oily skin. I use this mask once or twice a week and its really good at bringing down pore size and making skin less oily. I used to use the Queen Helene Mint Julep Mask but I developed an allergy to it. This mask is just as effective minus the irritation. A great mask to try for oily skin.
