Highlighters -E.L.F. - Studio Shimmer Palette
rated 5 of 5
Xdevilisious 2/29/2012 1:51:00 PM

It's been ages since I wrote a review but this product is simply GOLD. I've been looking for the perfect highlighter forever and this is it. I've tried several highlighters before and i usually found everything too shimmery. I settled for MAC cream color base in hush, but the staying power in it wasn't everything. ELF shimmer palette combines a GORGEOUS glow with amazing staying power. NO SHIMMER. Just a glorious, glorious sheen! I like the white color for my browbone and cupids bow. The gold and peach color look FAB with any MU look, the pink one is the one i like least, although it's still very nice. Packaging is very sturdy and handy. The little brush is pointless, i just use my fingers, but can be used as a mediocre lipbrush. blends beautifully! OVERALL: i can NOT imagine not having this product anymore! All my other highlighters (which were alot more expensive...) are not used at all anymore. For me it's this, and only this. Get this if you want a great, subtle, natural looking highlighter which really makes a difference in your make up.

Eye Primer -Catrice - Eye Shadow Base
rated 2 of 5
Xdevilisious 9/8/2011 11:01:00 AM

This is simply a good e/s base. It is nothing "special" but it does what it promises. My e/s stays put all day without creasing. The packaging is very practical aswell. HOWEVER, I don't find this cheap at all, which is why i rated this a 2. You don't pay much but you also don't get very much for it. You pay 3.99 EUR for 2.1ml. If you compare that to UDPP or the too faced primer then you see that price-quantity wise.. this one is more expensive (see below)!!! So if you are smart you may want to skip out on this one and get UDPP or the too faced one because they are still slightly better quality imo AND CHEAPER. I personally felt a bit ripped off because catrice is suposed to be a very budget-friendly brand. To clarify: catrice is 3.99 EUR for 2.1ml and UDPP is is 16 EUR for 10 ml and too faced is 16.50 for 11ml. So do 4 EUR times 5 and you get 20 EUR for 10.5 ml...

Conditioner -Unlisted Brand - Inecto - Pure Coconut Oil Leave-in Conditioner
rated 5 of 5
Xdevilisious 8/29/2011 1:17:00 PM

GREAT stuff. This smells great (bounty, mmmm!) and works so well! Many leave-in conditioners weigh down my hair or make it oily, but not this one. this one just makes it oh so soft without weighing it down or making it oily. I use this whenever I don't have time to let the normal conditioner of this line (also great, but be aware of the shampoo!) sink in. And also sometimes when my hair needs to be more easy to comb. love this and would rec this product to anyone with damaged or dry hair!

this is my go-to conditioner. i have bought this again sooo many times and i still love it! this is the perfect conditioner for me since i have damaged hair which goes oily very fast if i use too heavy products. this product is great to soften up my hair and making it look healthy, without weighing it down or speeding up the oilyness. and it smells like bounty. i would deffinetly recommend this product to anyone with damaged hair who wants a product that will not weigh it down or make it oily! love!

After using the hair mask, leave in conditioner, serum and regular conditionar of this line i was very dissapointed in this shampoo. i cannot say that it was AWEFULL but it did nothing for my damaged hair. it's just plain shampoo, nothing special, but since it promises to be great for damaged hair that is very dissapointing, esp since all the other hairproducts i tried of this line were AMAZING. you'll want to skip this one.

Primer/ Corrector -Unlisted Brand - p2 Perfect Face! Anti-Red Base
rated 5 of 5
Xdevilisious 6/1/2011 12:26:00 PM

After having tried the L'oreal Studio Secrets green primer (I thought I should mention this one because the other reviewer mentionned it) I didn't want to try primers anymore for such a long time. That primer was not only expensive (around 20 EUR for a L'oreal primer!!), but it also had obvious glitter in it. Glitter which would show up even through foundation. No, not shimmer. GLITTER. STAY AWAY FROM IT. And then I saw the P2 primer which barely cost anything (around 5 EUR?) and I thought "why not?". And I am SO glad I picked it up. This is a very good product for people with a "redness" problem! I am one of those unfortunate persons who turns red oh so easily, no matter the circumstances. Foundation helps, but usually the redness still shines through. This product helps me to look "skintoned" all day. I apply this underneath my foundation. As soon as I apply this I see a difference: this takes away the redness in my face immediately! And the effect lasts all day for me. I should mention that I would not wear it in itself though. If you do, you can sometimes see a light green "sheen" on your skin which is not very flattering. So this does need some foundation or TM on top imo. My only gripe is that this product does not improve the wear of my foundation. I don't mind, but because this is a primer I secretly hoped that it would, so don't buy this if you need longer wear. Another slight downside (but for most people this will be an upside) is that it is more mattifying than moistrizing. I have dryish skin and I can see that becoming a problem for me during winter. But this product should be good for people with oily/normal skin. I am not sure whether or not I like the packaging... It is like a tube with a pump at the end... Really not sure what to think of it, but it works so meh. Overall: GREAT product if you have redness issues and if you don't want to spend alot of money on a green primer. Try this! You won't be disappointed!

Lipstick -Unlisted Brand - p2 Pure Color Lipstick
rated 5 of 5
Xdevilisious 6/1/2011 12:14:00 PM

I own this wonderful lipstick in place de la concorde. this color is a milky pink color, and honestly isn't a hit for me. It is extremely pigmented and is suposed to be a dupe for MAC's Lady Gaga lipstick. Because it is so pigmented I have to be VERY carefull not to overapply. I usually just pat this on for a little tint on my lips and then it looks okay, but if i apply this full on, my lips look like I'm an "adult movie" star. The lipstick is very creamy, goes on smooth and lasts quite well. It lasts a couple of hours, but if you do some heavy drinking (it survives a sip) or eat something you'll probably have to reapply. But honestly, most (if not all) of my lipstick need reapplication after drinking and eating. The packaging looks a tad cheap but is very sturdy and as mentionned by the other reviewer: can be used as a mirror! I am definetly not happy with this color but that is my own fault (I should have tried it instead of just grabbing it on the go), but the quality of this lipstick is undeniably great. Even if it was much more expensive I would still like it, so it's not the "good quality for the price" kind of good. This can definetly match my high end lipsticks. For that reason I will buy more colors in the future... but try them first this time.

Cleansers -Shiseido - Benefiance Creamy Cleansing Foam
rated 2 of 5
Xdevilisious 4/30/2011 4:13:00 AM

I can see this product working for people who do NOT have dry skin. I got a few samples of this as i asked the SA for a cleanser for very dry skin. I was surprised that she gave me a foam as my first instinct is that foams are the worst for dry skin (together with gelcleansers). She told me it was developed for dry skin though so I tried it anyway. It did a good job cleansing but it left my skin very tight and dry-feeling. I think if you have normal or slightly oily skin this might be a good cleanser for you because it does work well, it's just too drying for me. I don't understand how they rec this for very dry skin... will not buy again.

Gels/Soaps -Unlisted Brand - Palmolive Pure Cashmere Intense Hydration Shower Cream
rated 4 of 5
Xdevilisious 3/5/2011 7:12:00 AM

Lovely product. This shower cream lathers well, smells great and it really does help make my skin soft. While it doesn't live up to the promise of no moisturisation needed after showering i wasn't expecting that either. I have VERY dry skin and it is definetly best if i still use some bodylotion after, BUT even though it doesn't make my skin as soft as when i use bodylotion it definetly leaves my skin feeling comfortable. With other soaps i often had the feeling afterwards that i might burst out of my skin because it felt so tight, especially my legs. While my skin is still a bit dryish to the touch, i definetly feel good "in" my skin, if that makes sense. I also can use a lightweight moisturizer and be good, whereas with other soaps i often have to reach for thick and heavy body butters. will definetly repurchase and can definetly recommend this product. it is cheap and works very well, even better than most lof the high end "miracle" soaps and shower creams for dry skin. great bang for your buck.

Blush -NYX - Rouge Cream Blush - Golden
rated 1 of 5
Xdevilisious 2/18/2011 2:34:00 PM

I always hate to be a party pooper for products, but this product just didn't do anything for me. I am very very pale and i simply don't like obvious shimmer in my blush. This blush has in my opinion, very obvious shimmer. If i stand in the light you can clearly see golden shimmery bits on my cheeks which i terribly dislike. I was hoping for something much more subtle. I also don't see the "peach" in this blush unlike other reviewers. It's just a sheer muddy brown on my skin. If i apply a little bit i don't get much color payoff (even though i'm so pale), just glitter/shimmer and if i apply more the color is a) not flattering, b) super shimmery. Staying power is good but i will probably never reach for this product at all. If you don't like shimmer on your face, stay far away from this.

Moisturizers -Weleda - Almond Facial Oil
rated 4 of 5
Xdevilisious 2/17/2011 5:27:00 AM

I love this product but mainly as a m/u remover, not so much as a moisturizer. it removes my m/u without effort and leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth. i first apply the oil, massage it in a lil bit and then remove it with a a cotton pad, soaked in warm water. follow up with toner and some moisturizer. i do use it as a moisturizer if i have very dry skin during winter, but only during the night. this stuff is no good for me as a daytime moisturizer cause it's no good as a m/u base. but at night it's allright. overall a good multi-purpose product. i sometimes use this as a serum for my hair aswell and it does a good job. nice little bottle to have standing around!

Skincare - Body -The Body Shop - Shea Shower Cream
rated 4 of 5
Xdevilisious 12/15/2010 5:59:00 AM

This stuff really surprised me. I have very sensitive and dry body skin. Usually after showering i have red patches on my skin which are itchy and obviously not attractive. Also, bodylotion is a MUST for me when i get out of the shower or my skin feels tight all day. This stuff amazed me because 1. no red patches!!! (maybe i'm allergic to soap? this stuff is soapfree... heck, no red patches, that's what matters!) and 2. this is one of the least stripping shower products i have ever used. My skin still feels better if i apply some body lotion after but i don't feel uncomfortable in my skin if i happen to skip it. For me, that's simply amazing! My only let downs are the scent, but I'll put up with it because it doesn't linger on the skin after, and the packaging. Like mentioned in other reviews the packaging is very hard and not "squeezable". My solution to that is i just take off the cap completely while showering and then i can pour it out quite easily. A last letdown is that i need a little bit more product to wash my entire body with compared to other shower creams. Overall i will definetely repurchase and i can highly recommend this to people who have dry, sensitive skin and people who are looking for a soap-free shower cream. this isn't the cheapest shower cream out there but price-quality i'm loving it.

Eye Shadow -Coastal Scents - 88 color matte palette
rated 2 of 5
Xdevilisious 10/23/2010 9:35:00 AM

It took me a long time to decide how I would write this review... The reason is that this is indeed a good palette but imo it doesn't deserve to be so totally raved about. Yes, this is a decent palette, but no, it is not an absolute "you will die if you don't have this" item. Pros: - 88 colors so lots of shades to play with - overall nice pigmentation - with a base the staying power is very decent - not all matte, some have a satin finish Cons: - Quite a few of the colors are (in my opinion) unwearable (I would never smear hot-red on my eyelids) - The highlight shades have extremely poor pigmentation and do not show up on me at all - some colors are chalky and many have fallout Basically it's a decent palette but I wouldn't buy it again. I'm a fan of natural colors. This palette is nice to have for those days where I'm feeling funky and want some flashy color on my eyes. I would recommend it to people like me who don't often wear such bright colors but do want it around for special occasions. You'll have all the funky colors you ever need in decent quality for a very low price. Other people I would recommend this to is people who are just getting started and want lots of color to play around with to find out what looks good on them. You do get a good bang out of your buck but imo the colors I really like I will buy in better quality such as MAC or BB. It's a decent palette to have lying around but it is not a palette which deserves such godpraise and rave which is why I only give it 2 lippies. Also I feel I must point out that shops such as Claire's have very decent multi-color palettes too so it's not that this is the one and only cheap palette which offers a good bang for your buck.

Mascara -Clinique - High Impact Curling Mascara
rated 4 of 5
Xdevilisious 6/21/2010 4:21:00 AM

I think that if you have no problem with mascara smudging on you, you'd be happier staying away from this mascara. However, if you are like me, and you feel that no matter what kind of mascara you use it will just smudge on you, this mascara is worth checking. This is a tubing mascara meaning it can only be removed with warm water (so to all the people here who complain that their eye make up remover won't get it off: read the label.). Anyways, i love this mascara cause it stays put no matter what. I can go to the gym with this, i can go swimming with this (if the water isn't too warm) and it simply stays put all day. For me, that is an amazing thing to experience. This mascara does a decent job lenghtening and gives a lil bit of volume. Nothing spectacular but I can live with that. It's a good everyday look. The brush tends to pick up too much mascara on the wand so you best gently wipe it a bit before applying or you'll end up with glued together lashes. If i wipe it though I don't have much trouble with that. Removing this mascara takes some getting used to. Don't even bother trying make up remover (even oil doesn't make it budge). I advice not using a cotton pad either. When I tried with a cotton pad it took me forever to get it off and i lost quite a few lashes in proces. The perfect way imo to remove this is to just wet your fingertips with warm water, and GENTLY rub your lashes with your fingertips. If i do it like that i can simply pull off the mascara as if it's a little plastic layer on my lashes. I lose no lashes this way and it's alot faster than using a cotton pad. So this mascara has some cons (too much product on the wand and weird way of removing), but i would repurchase this again and again since this is the only mascara that stays put all day with no smudging or anything. I highly recommend it to people who are in need of a mascara like that but know you'll have some cons. Which is why I think this mascara is simply no good for people who have no problem with mascara smudging. For the record I wear contact lenses and I have experienced no irritation whatsoever so far.

Bronzers -E.L.F. - Matte Bronzer
rated 2 of 5
Xdevilisious 6/18/2010 4:23:00 AM

I don't know why ELF decided to name this "matte bronze". Cause it's not. If i hold this in the light I can see some obvious bits of glitter in it and unfortunately they show up on the skin too. On the skin they're not so obvious as in the pan but in bright light you can definetly see glittery bits on your face, which isn't what i expect from a "matte" bronzer. Apart from that the color is nice. Quite dark but if you use a light hand this works on pale skins too. Doesn't last all day though. This stuff left me kinda "meh'd". No good staying power, cheap looking packaging AND glitter. Won't repurchase.
