Liquid -Maybelline - Instant Age Rewind Eraser Treatment Makeup
WickedSkizzy 3/24/2010 5:25:00 PM
I usually check reviews before buying makeup (though not ALWAYS). Based on the reviews here I probably would have tried this anyway, but I don't think I'll be repurchasing it. The sponge applicator on it definitely can't be used to blend the foundation in. Though disappointed, I'm ok with using my fingers. It felt pretty greasy when I was blending it in which scared me, but it felt less so after a few minutes and some finishing powder. One of my main problems is there seems to be a slight scent...like I can smell it as I sit here writing this. No one else has mentioned it, but it's enough to bother me. I've never actually smelled my foundation before while it was on my face and it reminds me that I have it on. I also can't tell how my skin will be reacting to this (It almost feels itchy now, but only slightly.). I have very fair skin and I need to see it in more lighting to tell if it blended well enough. I liked the idea a LOT more than the execution. But honestly, the slight scent is the part that bothers me most because I don't like the constant reminder that I have stuff on my face. It's strange.

Liquid -Estee Lauder - Individualist Natural Finish Makeup [DISCONTINUED]

SHADE: Nude 08 As little as I can afford to buy makeup products over the glass counters at Macy's, this may be the product that will lure me back to do it again. I sat down for the first time at one of their complimentary makeover days with a professional makeup artist. I'm 23 with extremely fair skin which makes buying the right foundation near impossible for me, especially when looking through regular drugstore foundations. So lately I'd just gone without. But the makeup artist tried Vanilla on one side and Nude 08 on the other. Nude 08 was perfect. I looked at the mirror and marvelled "It looks like my skin!" Usually, with foundations, I look like I'm on my death bed or like I have a mask on because so few companies get fair foundation right. This one did. In fact I was so pleased by the natural and healthy tone which definitely makes my skin look smoother as well (as I've been told) that I knew I had to buy it. And you know it has to be good if I'm willing to fork over that much for foundation. I've only used this for a couple of days, but so far it's worked great. I'll update if anything changes.

Eyeliner -Physicians Formula - Virtual Eyes Liquid Eyeliner in Down-to-Earth
WickedSkizzy 9/15/2005 10:51:00 PM
I adore the eyeshadow that matches this. So when I spotted the liner I had to get it. I won't make that mistake again. It doesn't show as well as I'd hoped and it's not easy to apply nor does it last long. I was very disapointed.

Eye Shadow -Physicians Formula - virtual eyes-down to earth
WickedSkizzy 9/15/2005 10:45:00 PM

I love this eyeshadow. It's one of my favorites. I apply the powder with my fingertip and it goes on smoothly and lasts quite awhile. I can use only a bit for a lighter/softer look, but I can apply more for a much more dramatic look. I have hazel (brown/green) eyes and this is the perfect shade to compliment them as it has hints of both. I also get compliments on it from time to time. I don't feel one way or the other about the packaging really. It could be improved, but no big deal. I buy this all the time and would be very sad if it ever got discontinued. I try other shadows from time to time, but I always end up coming back to using this. It's definitely one of my staple makeup items.

Hair -L'Oreal - Colour rays
WickedSkizzy 5/15/2005 3:25:00 PM
I'm a natural brunette (with very short hair) and I had been dying my hair red (light auburn). The roots were growing out quite a bit, and I couldn't afford a trip to the salon to fix it. Home dyes don't really effect my roots very much. So I contemplated dying my hair a crazy color just for fun until I can do a full re-dye and I hoped the crazy color would cover my roots in the mean time. I was tempted by other products, but knew they wouldn't really show up on my hair. I finally got this in Fuschia Flash and just bypassed the wand all together. I used it to dye my whole head (there was just enough for my hair since it's primary use is for streaks). It came out great! It was crazy brilliant at first and settled to a magenta color on my hair. I guess it is still vivid but more muted as time passes. I don't think it's super long lasting, but it's gotten tons of compliments from strangers which I did not expect. I would definitely do it again sometime. Most importantly, no more roots.

Lip Treatments -Sally Hansen - Beyond Perfect Collagen Lip Lift in Sheer Soothing Spice
WickedSkizzy 4/15/2005 7:29:00 PM
I should have bought this color first. I almost did, but bought the sandlewood first instead (thinking the spice would be too dark, regardless of "sheer" in its name). Sandlewood isn't horrible, it felt great, but it was just a bit too light. I wear that one under other lip colors. This color is just so perfect and it really does moisturize my lips. The color is extremely natural and healthy looking. It gives my naturally very pale lips a rich color without being too dark or overpowering. I'd give it five lippies if these had staying power, but it really doesn't. I don't mind though since it really does moisturize (something my lips really need)and the color does look great when it's on. I didn't expect it to have staying power considering it's more of a treatment. I just make sure I have it handy for touch ups. Will definitely buy again!
