Conditioner -Clairol - Herbal Essences "Tousle Me Softly" Conditioner
WendyDarling 11/3/2009 2:24:00 PM
As I said in the shampoo review, I have thick coarse hair that tangles easily and I am VERY tender-headed. This means any conditioner I use has some very high standards to measure up to. I am in love with the 'None of your Frizzness' line. Using 'Tousle Me Softly', I had to use *twice* the amount of conditioner I would normally use to ensure that I could run a wide-toothed comb through my hair after a shower. I'm sure the TMS line is good for others, but it doesn't work for me. Will be sticking with None of Your Frizzness

Shampoo -Clairol - Herbal Essences "Tousle Me Softly" Shampoo
WendyDarling 11/3/2009 2:20:00 PM
I am a big fan of the Herbal Essences 'None of your Frizzness' line, so when this came out I decided to give it a try. I have thick, coarse hair that tangles easily, and I am extremely tender-headed. The 'None of Your Frizzness' stuff moisturizes my hair very nicely, but this line leaves a lot to be desired. The shampoo is very cleasing. My hair feels literally "sqeaky" clean after using, which I don't like. It's the same feel I get from using a clarifying shampoo, making me think that this is actually damaging my hair to use it on a daily basis. After using 'None of Your Frizzness' my hair felt clean but still soft. Also, I hate the smell - but that's a personal issue, I dislike flowery smells in general. So, in essence, I'm sure this is a great product for other people who do not have my hair, but I won't be buying it again.

Polishes -China Glaze - Turned Up Turquoise 849237
WendyDarling 2/27/2009 3:33:00 AM
While I name, since this is definitely more a member of the teal family, I just love this color. A word to the wise - you have to apply a clear topcoat to get the look of the polish in the bottle. If you just paint it on and go, it'll come out more frosty. Today I got this on my fingers and OPI Yoga-to Get This Blue on my toes, and I feel like an ocean goddess =)

Lotions/ Creams -Bliss Labs - Lemon & Sage Body Butter
WendyDarling 1/30/2009 3:50:00 AM
Got it in a "Best of Bliss" kit that only cost $10 at TJ Maxx. Love the way it moisturizes, like the smell, hate the cost. I agree with the poster who said that she's sure there are other products out there that moisturize as well, and smell better. However, it is a nice fresh smell, one that smells clean. Not something I'd pick for a perfume, and if a product doesn't get rinsed off, I'd like it to smell like something I'd pick for a perfume. If you get a sample or get this as a gift, use it. Take advantage of it, but I wouldn't go out and buy a tube (unless you find one cheaper at TJ Maxx)

Skincare - Body -Bliss Labs - Vanilla Bergamot Body Buff
WendyDarling 1/30/2009 3:45:00 AM
Took off two lippies on packaging because I hate when they put stuff like this in a tub with a screw on lid - putting it back on while the stuff is still on your hands is messy, and I don't like to leave the lid off of something. The price is insane. However, I got this in a "Best of Bliss" set for only $10 at TJ Maxx, and I plan to visit all the stores in the area to find a full-size version of this at a markdown price. I suffer from KP and my derm said I needed to exfoliate. However, after years of being ignored, not every thing with a little bit of grit in it is going to slough off my skin. I need to find a special brush/loofah/sponge to apply this with, otherwise my hands will be rubbed raw after just a few uses. It's that good. The smell is not a combination I'd pick for a perfume, but it doesn't offend my olfactory senses either. Great scrub, great results - but I wouldn't shell out the full price just based on recommendations. Try and get a sample somehow first, and it'll be easier to justify the price to yourself =) ***EDIT*** upon first using it I said it didn't "offend my olfactory senses". However, it becomes more and more annoying as time wears on, and the scent does stay with you in all its cloying, nose-burning, stomach-churning glory. I tried to wash it off with the Bliss super-minty body wash (you know, the one that's so strong they don't recommend you leave it on your lady business too long?), but that did not abate the smell at all. I used it because I was all out of my Bath Junkie salt scrub, and the only reason I took a shower in the first place today was to get the smell of Juicy EDP off my wrists. Now I'm stuck with something worse until my next shower or sweat-inducing activity! Used the last of the tub and will NOT be buying again.

Shampoo -Clairol - Herbal Essences None Of Your Frizzness Smoothing Shampoo
WendyDarling 11/30/2008 11:58:00 PM
I used this and the conditioner on a Wednesday night. I woke up on Thursday with my normal mane of kinks/waves but I could tell it was more controlled. Then I straightened my hair - something I've done for years, and I've never used any product while doing it. TWO DAYS later, my hair was still still stick straight and smooth, even after sleeping, putting it in a ponytail, etc.... The only thing different I did was to use this shampoo and conditioner, so I give it ALL the credit =) Will be using this again, and will review how my hair acts when I've been using it for awhile, but this is an excellent start =) (packaging gets a 3 because while the conditioner bottle is built upside down, the shampoo is not. This shampoo is more creamy/thick than their other ones, and so I think it might be hard to get the last bit out unless I turn the bottle upside down) ***UPDATE*** Am more than half-way through the bottle, and I still love it every bit as much as I did upon first use. My kinks are more controlled, my straight hair stays straight longer, and I'm not even sick of the smell yet =)

Eyeliner -Wet 'n' Wild - Megaliner Liquid Eyeliner- Turquoise
WendyDarling 11/3/2008 3:21:00 PM
I bought this for Halloween, and WOW! First off, it did not leave my face at all. We were at a party, I was dancing and sweating, there was a fog machine that made me rub my eyes and it stayed put. It took two applications of Clinique rinse-off eye makeup remover to get it all off - and it's not even this line's waterproof e/l! 2nd of all, HUGE RAVE for this color. It was gorgeous, and it really popped on my eyes. On every picture of me, you can tell I'm wearing it, and it was only 1 coat!

Eye Primer -Too Faced - Shadow Insurance, Anti-Crease Eye Shadow Primer
WendyDarling 3/10/2008 11:41:00 PM
This product does what it is supposed to do and does it very well. I've tested it both on my hands and worn it on my eyes. When I put it on my hand, I used UD eyeshadow. After a night of sleep, several hand washings, and a shower, there was still a faint tint of blue on the back of my hand. When I wore it on my eyes, my shadow didn't go anywhere until I rubbed my eyes (my mistake, can't fault the product that). Even then, it only transfered to my finger a little bit, and didn't move anywhere else on my face. When I took a shower that night and washed my face in the shower, I stepped out of the bathroom to discover turquoise raccoon eyes because the shadow had shifted but not washed off. It took 2 applications of Clinique Take the Day Off to get that eyeshadow off my eyelids. The packaging is adorable, with a turquoise tube that looks like an eye serum or something. I like that there's no applicator, it's really best applied w/ the fingertips or a real brush, not a wand. It's definitely a special-occaison product for me. I don't wear makeup that often, but when I do I definitely want my eyeshadow to last, and Shadow Insurance locks it to your 'lids.

Lotions/ Creams -Bath and Body Works - Vanilla Bean Noel Body Lotion
WendyDarling 10/17/2007 12:24:00 AM
In the past, I've liked Vanilla Bean Noel, but not enough to buy it for myself, because Warm Vanilla Sugar smelled MUCH better. However, I've outgrown WVS, but not vanilla smells entirely. I got a coupon for a free Temptations or Holiday body lotion with any purchase, and since I already own every Temptations product that I like so far, I gave this a try. WONDERFUL! They've updated the scent this year, and added a sort of caramel fragrance along with the vanilla - it smells exactly the way Ben & Jerry's Creme Brulee ice cream tastes! I'll be alternating this with the Temptations Pecan Passion lotion through the entire holiday season!

Lip Gloss -Bath and Body Works - Temptations - Tropical colada Cooling Lip Gloss
WendyDarling 1/26/2007 12:45:00 AM
I did like the cooling effect, and the smell was very good, but the glitter was too chunky and it felt scratchy on my lips. I bought it again in Frozen Daiquiri, but only becuase it was $2 at the Semi-Annual Sale.

Lip Gloss -Bath and Body Works - Liplicious Hot cakes
WendyDarling 1/26/2007 12:39:00 AM
I was very happy with the texture - I had been afraid that they would be too sticky like the lip glosses at Victoria's Secret. However, after about 15 minutes I was nauseous from the scent. It's a bit too strong for me. I would recommend to a friend based on the texture and taste-to-smell matching, but maybe try one of the other flavors.

Lip Liners -Milani - Lip Pencil
WendyDarling 12/12/2006 12:42:00 AM
Continuing my search for the perfect Cranberry lip color (a seemingly Quixotic quest that has been going on for 2 years), I found an already open pencil at my local CVS and swiped a bit to my hand. It has been more than 24 hours (and I've taken a bubble bath in that time) and you can still tell where it was on my hand...that is long lasting color!!!!

Lip Treatments -Too Faced - Lip Injection
WendyDarling 12/17/2005 12:27:00 AM
I've tried all the DuWop Venom products. I like any of them better than this Lip Injection. Another reviewer commented that unlike Venom's warm tingle, this felt like thousands of needles poking into your flesh. I agree with that description 100%.

Cleansers -Neutrogena - Deep Clean Invigorating Cleanser-Mask
WendyDarling 11/9/2005 3:11:00 PM
I wanted the cleanser, I picked this up instead. Have yet to try it as a mask. First time I used it, I felt nice and fresh and tingly, except the little bit of skin in the crevice between my nostrils and my cheeks STUNG really bad. However, I've used this a few times since and haven't felt that again. I don't like the idea of a cleanser/mask because it feels so muddy, like you never QUITE get it all off, but this one is pretty good actually. I'd still rather try the foaming wash and just keep this around for primping nights when I can wear a mask. Otherwise, same great quality I've come to expect from Neutrogena.

Foundations -Maybelline - Dream Matte Mousse
WendyDarling 11/4/2005 2:03:00 AM
I've switched to this from L'Oreal True Match. It's easier to apply, more portable, better for touch ups because its not a liquid, but its not too cakey like the thick liquid/powder foundations could be. Could use a BIT more coverage, but if you look at my red cheeks you'll see I say that for everything. I'm very pleased with this, and anticipate using it for quite a while. **UPDATE** After only a little while it gets oily, feels gross. I don't think a foundation should have such a small "best by" window. I'd like to have a foundation longer stay good for longer than a loaf of bread.
