Toners -Paula's Choice - Moisture Boost Hydrating Toner
Walko 6/20/2013 4:28:00 AM
This is the best toner I've used. I never used to bother much with toners as a lot of them are more bother than they're worth due to irritating ingredients. This is worth adding to my skin care regime. It's fragrance and alcohol free, and contains skin beneficial ingredients.Acts almost like a serum. This glides on like silk, a little goes a long way. It's a hydrating toner, but it dries quickly leaving skin ready for next step. At first I was put of this by the price as we pay a lot more here in the UK than US customers for PC products. But you really don't need a lot . The first couple of times I used too much. This will last for ages as it's a big bottle with a small hole at the top so no wasting it. I really enjoy this product and will continue to purchase.

BB Cream -Physicians Formula - Super BB Cream
Walko 6/17/2013 10:26:00 AM
This is one of the best BB creams out there. It is a creamy liquid which dries to a satin/ matte finish. Very flattering. Offers good coverage for a BB.Not at all greasy but I do use powder over this as I always do, with any BB or foundation. Also fragrance free , a must in my book.Love the fact that it is a mineral sunscreen. If you experience stinging eyes with sunscreens (as I do ) stick to minerals like titanium dioxide or zinc oxide, far less irritating than the chemical sunscreens. The only downside is there are only two colours available so for some it will be impossible to get a colour match. I wear the lightest colour and it's fine on my NW 15-20 complexion.Highly recommended.

Eye Makeup Remover -Paula's Choice - Gentle Touch Makeup Remover
Walko 6/13/2013 2:18:00 PM
This great at getting everything off the eyes. I don't wear waterproof mascara but I do wear a lot of ordinary mascara. It can be used for the whole face if you wanted too.For a bi- phase this is not at all greasy.I find it very gentle, not at all drying and it dosen't sting. This is fragrance free, I wouldn't dream of removing my eye make up with a perfumed product. The ingredients in some eye make up removers make me cringe, but this is the way an eye make up remover should be.It's pricey for us here in the UK, we pay a lot more than in the US ,but I don't mind paying for a quality product that works and this sure doesThis is going to be my eye make up remover from now on.

Toners -Clinique - Clarifying Lotion #2
Walko 6/10/2013 3:11:00 PM
Why do Clinique keep giving me these awful toners as a GWP. I DO NOT want them! This stuff had the same effect on my skin as the last Clinique toner I tried. It burns!! I am not sensitive. Truly awful, but hardly surprising as alcolhol denat is 2nd on the ingredients list. And witch hazel and menthol, OUCH!!! This amount of alcohol is NOT a preservative. It causes cell damage and collagen breakdown.Even on young oily skins this will do more harm than good in the long run.The only Clinique toner worth consideration is the mild cloudy one.I do use Clinique products and love them , but this toner, exfoliant , clarifying lotion or whatever you want to call it makes me cringe!Stay well clear would be my advice!

Treatments -DermOrganic - Leave In Treatment with Argan Oil
Walko 6/8/2013 6:17:00 AM
This is the only leave in treatment that has worked for me, and I've tried loads. This was a last try as I was fed up being disappointed. Non greasy, no overpowering smell. My hair is long always has been and at 56 I've no intentions of cutting it.This does what I wanted it to do, just defines my natural waves and takes away any frizziness especially at the ends. Leaves hair soft to the touch. No heaviness or weighing down of my fine hair. I love it! Some of these leave in treatments leave your hair crispy to the touch. I hate that, but their is none of that with this. It's like their is nothing in your hair but you can see the difference. The instructions say to use thison freshly washed towel dried hair, but I also use this when my hair is dry sometimes and it works fine that way too..Consideng you only need 2 or 3 drops this will last for ages.So it's not expensive in the long run. Highly recommended.

Scrubs -Clinique - Exfoliating Scrub
Walko 6/8/2013 5:03:00 AM
I've used the Clinique 7 day scrub rinse off formula for years .Decided to try this for a change. This is more abrasive so you have to be gentle,It works well , but I'm not keen on the tingling feeling which is obviously due to the menthol it contains which can be irritating to some skin types. I will use it up on my body but for my face I'm going back to the 7 day which in my opinion is a far better scrub and its minus the menthol The exfoliating one is just too harsh for my mature skin.

Sunscreen -Clinique - City Block Sheer Oil-Free Daily Face Protector Broad Spectrum 25 SPF
Walko 6/7/2013 5:30:00 AM
This is an excellent tinted sunscreen. I've used it for years. It's as good as or better than a lot of TM's or BB creams .Excellent mineral based sunscreen, so no irritation around eyes. A lot of people complain about stinging eyes with sunscreens, its the chemical sunscreen components, but as this is only titanium dioxide and zinc oxide they're shouldn't be a problem. This is a good option for foundation in the summer. I just use this and powder, and that's all I need. It can look a little greasy without powder on my combination skin. No , it dosen't give the coverage of a foundation, but it's a nice light summer make up and it will even out skin tone.Never had any problems with breakouts with this. It actually contains a lot of skin beneficial ingredients and is a top pick on beautypedia.Clinique also do an spf 40 version of this, but beware of that one if you have a problem with using chemical sunscreens around eyes as the spf 40 is a mix of chemical and physical. For that reason I prefer this spf 25 version.Good product, average price range, but it's effective , that's the main thing.

Liquid -Revlon - Age Defying Makeup with Botafirm SPF 20 for Normal/Combination Skin
Walko 6/6/2013 9:02:00 AM
This foundation has a lot going for it. Spf 20 with a good percentage of zinc oxide and titanium dioxide.Physical only sunscreen, less likely to cause stinging eyes.Chemical sunscreens cause a lot of problems aound eyes for a lot of people including me. So it is broad spectrum protection. But it doesn't offer much in the way of coverage, more like a TM and it's rather greasy upon application . I couldn't use this without powder. However, set with powder it's fine.My skin's combination and that's what this foundation is for. It's a nice light summer make up, and I'm happy with it. Feels very light on, This evens out skin tone , but if you're after good coverage , this isn't for you.If you're thinking of a TM for summer , try this, it's better than a lot of BB's as well. It's available cheap on Amazon just now(it usually is)I got mine for five pounds 80p and free delivery so really you've nothing to lose by giving it a try.For reference I'm nw 15 -20 and wear this in Buff Beige. The colour match is perfect the colour does look darker in the bottle. This is fragrance free and is a top pick on beautypedia.

Toners -Clinique - Clarifying Lotion #3
Walko 6/4/2013 1:19:00 PM
I got this as a GWP.Some may say I am not in a position to review this product as I used it only once. But believe me that was MORE than enough. It's full of alcohol and to make matters worse also contains witch hazel. This burned my skin.My face was bright red after one application.I have combination skin. I am not sensitive.Even if you're young with oily skin this will do more harm than good in the long run. This amount of alcohol is damaging to ALL skin types. This amount of alcohol is NOT a preservative, it will cause damage. Running for the moisturiser won't help either.I use a lot of Clinique products, and love them. But this toner, clarifying lotion, or whatever you want to call it, is one to stay well clear of.

Powder -Giorgio Armani - Lasting Silk UV Compact Foundation
Walko 6/3/2013 11:46:00 AM
This is a lovely silky powder foundation that blends to a really nice smooth finish. It has good coverage for a powder foundation. It just has a lovely gliding transparent texture. Some powder foundations are no better than ordinary powders, but this is a lovely powder that lives up to it's foundation name. And it has spf 34!Good colour choice too, from fair to dark skin tones. In some ways I didn't want to like this as the price is ludicrous, but hey, it's Armani .I've been using their cream shaper foundation and loved it so decided to try this as I wanted a powder foundation for summer. This is the best powder foundation I've used.If you don't want to splash out this kind of money try the Max Factor facefinity powder foundation spf 15. It's also excellent, I've used it for years. But Armani to me is worth the splurge.

Crème -Giorgio Armani - SPF20 Shaping Designer Foundation
Walko 6/2/2013 3:28:00 PM
This is a lovely foundation for mature skin. It's moisturising without being greasy and dries to a lovely satin finish. It's not matte, which can be ageing. It has a higher than normal in part titanium dioxide sunscreen, so it's broad spectrum protection, but I do use sunscreen under this.It looks very natural on, but does give good coverage. it seems quite thick in the jar but spreads and blends well.I wouldn't recommend this for young oily skins as it might be a bit heavy but this is an excellent foundation for us more mature ladies who want to have a bit of a glow. Not shiny , just a nice satin finish.i don't wear make up every day, so it should last a while. But this was worth the money.

Cleansers -Unlisted Brand - L'oreal skin perfection soothing gel cream wash
Walko 5/24/2013 7:22:00 AM
This is now my favourite cleanser. It's the new skin perfection line from L'oreal. It is absolutely fantastic.I never thought that a cleanser could make such a difference to skin, I usually rely on serums and moisturisers to do that. But my skin seems to be glowing with this. It is a gel cream and it looks like a thick white moisturiser when it comes out the tube.Wet face and apply. It's applies lovely and creamy. Add a little water at the end and it will work it's way up to a foam.Rinse well. This has no artificial colours , perfumes or dyes, or unnecessary irritants and it's soap free.Suitable for sensitive dry skin and use round the eyes.Cleanses superbly and skin is left feeling so soft, no dryness or tight feeling whatsoever. And it's cheap! I'm paying 3 pounds for an 150 ml tube in my local supermarket. Grabbed the last 2 on the shelf this morning. It claims to remove make up, but I always use a wipe first before I wash my face.I don't like to remove make up solely with a face wash, but if this is your preference I'm sure it would be worth a try. Can't rave about this stuff enough. At the grand old age of 56 I've finally found my HG cleanser!

Liquid -Christian Dior - Diorskin Forever Flawless Perfection Fusion Wear Makeup (new - 2011 version)
Walko 5/23/2013 9:00:00 AM
Is it just me or is nobody else concerned about the amount of alcohol in this stuff? This is actually a lovely foundation, I used half a bottle until I read on beautypedia this amount of alcohol is damaging to skin. And no, I don't beleive everything I read but this makes sense to me so I tossed the remainder out. It's just not worth the risk. It's also highly fragranced.

Liquid -Cover Girl - Outlast Stay Fabulous 3 in 1 Foundation
Walko 5/14/2013 11:54:00 AM
I bought this foundation as I was getting fed up paying for high end brands and know some drug store products are just as good. This is a good little foundation. It leaves my mature skin dewy but not greasy. Matte can be so aging so I loved this.Good coverage without looking heavy and super selection of colours.Spf 20. Well yes, but the sunscreen in this (ensulizole) does not protect against UVA , so it is not broad spectrum. Ok you can wear a sunscreen underneath and that is how I will use it up .But I will not repurchase as if a product claims to be broad spectrum I expect it to be just that.Do not rely on this alone for sun protection. Otherwise a good foundation , but still leaves me dissapointed.

Liquid -Revlon - Age Defying with DNA Advantage Cream Makeup
Walko 5/10/2013 7:36:00 AM
This is the worst foundation I have ever used. I was quite looking forward to trying it as I like colorstay and age defying make up with botofirm by Revlon.Well this was awful. It just sat on the top of my skin.Greasy, shiny , glittery, just awful. When I tried to put powder and blush on top of this it just slid off.Never experienced anything like it and I'm 56. Good sunscreen, that's all I can say in it's favour. Don't know where Revlon went wrong with this one as I am quite a fan of Revlon, but they sure managed it! Stay clear would be my advice.!
