BB Cream -Estee Lauder - Daywear BB Anti-Oxidant Beauty Benefit Creme SPF 35
WENAYI 8/15/2012 1:42:00 PM
I don't get the hype of this product. For me this is just another foundation with few color choice. Texture is pretty thick and coverage is obvious. Does not feel like skincare at all. I also detected the typical SPF smell from it. This is not what I expected for a BB cream. Disappointed.

Lip Gloss -Estee Lauder - New Pure Color Gloss - #7 Tempting Tearose
WENAYI 9/19/2010 6:44:00 PM
The new Pure Color Gloss line from EL has been around for a while. There's not a single review yet, what a surprise. Tearose is one of the three formula, shine in this line. That's the only formula I would pick since I generally dislike shimmer in lip products. This is definitely a MLBB color, a little too natural because it doesn't have enough color pay off on my lips and the lasting powder isn't great. From tube it's a milky tea color with pink/peach tone, very pretty. The texture is creamy and feels comfortable and the scent is quite pleasant. Package is still the EL mature style that lools sophisticated.

Lipstick -Clarins - Rouge Prodige - Tender Rose 101
WENAYI 9/17/2010 11:51:00 AM
Overall a good product but nothing amazing. The package is stunning. I don't find it long lasting as it advertised. It leaves a bit trace on the mug. Maybe because #101 Tender Rose is such a subtle baby pink, can be called a nude pink. It fades as easily as other lipsticks I've tried. I wonder if the other more intense colors will show the ability to stay put. In terms of scent, I do sense a quite strong fruity smell, for those who say there's no obvious scent, I don't get it. That's the typical Clarins lipstick scent and I'm ok with it. I'll keep using it but no repurchase.

Lotions/ Creams -Vaseline - Problem Skin Therapy

Texture is like whipped cream, moisturizing but not greasy. Works well on the drier area and the price is dirt cheap considered I bought it on sale. Highly recommend.

Skincare - Face -Avene - Thermal Water
WENAYI 9/2/2008 5:12:00 PM
The thermal water has a cooling effect due to the aerosol spray. Skin feels refreshed and it calms down irritated skin a bit but I'm not sure if it's mainly a mind thing. Since it's totally chemical free and safe for the body, I'd like to have a can of this around but cannot justify the regular price at $20 plus tax for 300ml. I spray on full face and neck twice a day and the biggest bottle only lasts a little over a month. I will stock when it's on sale.

Liquid -Clarins - Truly Matte Foundation
WENAYI 7/16/2008 10:55:00 AM
This is another disappointing product I've tried from Clarins. I always have the feeling Clarins don't sell well these days. Look at their products batch code, they sell "old" products. I bought this in January and liked it at first. I then noticed the batch code of my tube begin with 610, which mean it was made in October 2006. Although the smell and texture seem fine, I'm not too comfortable with a liquid foundation in this age when it's just bought, not to mention they have older products sitting in the shelves, most of them are makeups. I now avoid Clarins even it's once my favorite brand. Back to this foundation, it's not bad but I've found others much better. The color range is towards the light side. I wear this in 05 Shell and Mac Studio Fix Fluid spf15 in NC20. I compared them, 05 is lighter than NC20. Since NC20 is the second lightest NC shade in SFF, I image Truly Matt 01, 02 and 03 would be very light. It has the typical Clarins type of scent but go away quickly once applied. I'm ok with the scent but can see some may find it overpowering, like most Clarins products. The matte effect is good but I prefer SFF to this. Recently, this foundation leaves streaks on my face, not sure this is caused by my own skin condition or it goes bad again because of the age. I also don't like the package, yes it's slim and modern and contains the same standard 30ml as per said, but I have no idea how much left in the tube because of the thick, opaque plastic. Price is approx. CDN$41 which appear reasonable for a Clarins product. Last, someone may clarify this for me, it says spf 15 but how come it does not have expiry date? There's the opened jar sign but that's for the non-spf products.

Blush -Aveda - Petal essence Cheek Color-Petal Pink
WENAYI 4/30/2008 2:52:00 PM
I like the color from the pan, a pale rosy pink, but it doesn't show up on my NC20-25 skin. What a waste of $$

Liquid -MAC - Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15
WENAYI 4/30/2008 12:07:00 PM
I love this foundation! It's comparable to any high end ones. I have oily, acne prone skin and am very happy with the results of this foundation. It gives a matte, silky finish and pretty long lasting, plus it doesn't break me out. My issue is the color range is towards the dark skinned gals. Mac is famous of huge color range in their products but in terms of the foundations the choices for fair skin are limited, especially for this product. It goes darker than the same shade in other formulas. I was matched with NC20, it suits me great but I image those truly white gals with yellow undertones would not find a match since the lightest shade is NC15. I have to buy the separate pump because I hate to make mass on liquid foundations. It's $5 plus tax and is something should be included in the original package.

Powder -Clinique - Almost Powder Makeup SPF 15
WENAYI 4/18/2008 1:36:00 PM
I was lemming this since there were so many raves about it, especially after learnt a company reputed in making powders made this in Japan, and I was drawn to the manufacture process such as dried out the liquid foundation, triple milled and hard pressed to the compact, etc. So I went to the Sears counter to get it tested. The SA was nice and responsible. She picked the lightest 2 shades and put on each side of my chin and cheeks, and we both agreed the 1st shade Fair was too light. The second shade Neutral Fair had yellow tone in it, and suited my NC20 skin better. But I could still see a bit yellowy powdery streak on my skin while Fair left a bit whitish streak on the other side. So I doubt it could be pretty heavy, and my cheeks also felt a little tight. I have oily skin, my cheeks don't usually feel tight. I didn't buy, lemmings subsidies but still alive. I wanna wait to see more reviews before make up my mind.

Powder -Shiseido - The Makeup Powdery Foundation SPF 15
WENAYI 4/1/2008 5:59:00 PM
I bought I20 as per the suggestion of the SA. I feel nothing special about this product except for the light, elegant scent. The refill package is quite durable so this makes purchasing the case unnecessary and the case is bulky. I20 is still a tad dark for my taste, and I've used other powder that is way fine milled. I'm NC20 and would say this is just an average product, neither good nor bad, won't repurchase. Note: The ones now in the store have no Spf listed anywhere. I asked the SA and she said the product had Spf just the package didn't have it.???

Lipstick -MAC - Slimshine - Missy
WENAYI 2/15/2008 12:05:00 PM
Missy is one of the new colors in the Spring 2008 release. It was described as " Creamy pastel coral" but I found it's more on the peach side. It's such a beautiful sheer corally peach without glitter. The texture is incredibly creamy and gives watery shine, similar to the Clinique Butter Shine but only better. The color range of Slimshine is definitely superior to Buttershine IMO, with more choices of non-shimmery and wearable shades. Missy is not a MLBB color but still looks super natural and doesn't wash me out. The lasting power is among average considering the gloss effect. It's very moisturized when on the lips, but after I wipe it off, my lips still feel dry. The package is a sleek, glossy metal tube contains only 2.3g of the product. It's quite expensive indeed but good for light lipstick users like myself - I'll be able to finish it before get bored.
