Very nice foundation! Natural looking, not cakey at all and it doesn't enhance dry patches. I really like it to even out my skintone and get a natural every day look. I just apply with my fingers, it blends very easily. The finish is not too glowy and not too matte, I'd say it's satin. I like it, because it really just looks like my skin, no need for powder or shimmer. They have a nice color range and I found a great match.
Oh, how much I love the Dior Lip Maximizer! I haven't noticed a plumping effect, but I don't care. The scent is heavenly - I love the vanilla-minty smell, sweet and fresh. The gloss has a very fine pinky-red shimmer. It's not over the top glitter, I promise. It's very subtle. The look is not overly wet but just glossy, which I prefer. The best thing is the feel an the lips though. It lasts quite a while but it's not too icky-sticky. It feels very very nice on the lips and it really moisturizes them. I am so excited to have found a lip product other than balm that doesn't dry my lips out!! I took off a lippie because it's ridiculously expensive. Nevertheless, I probably will repuchase. I might even look into other Dior lip products... edit: Re-added the lippie because I use it all the time and love it so much! It deserves all 5 lippies. Go and buy it, it's truly lovely.
Lotions/ Creams -L'Occitane - 20% Shea Butter Hand Cream
VeryAroma 12/22/2012 4:08:00 PM
This handcream smells divine! I lovelove the scent which is why I am extra disappointed with the performance. At first, my hands feel nice, not greasy and quite soft. But it doesn't last at all. It's not protective in the slightest. My hands get dry again very quickly and I have to keep re-applying way too often. Because I need a rather generous amount, one tube will not last long. I will not repurchase.
Usually, I only wear polish in the nude oder red family, but this taupe is so elegant and just gorgeous, it's one of my favorites. Love! Very good quality as well, lasting power is great.
I don't know what OPI did differently here, but this polish stands out qualitywise. I am a OPI fan in general, but Koala Bear-y lasts even longer than the usual OPI. It's amazing! The color is gorgeous, bright, but not neon-in-your-face pink. Beautiful! Would repurchase if I ran out.
Lotions/ Creams -Unlisted Brand - Alverde Macadamia Nut Body Butter
VeryAroma 5/26/2012 6:35:00 AM
This is my favorite body cream in the whole wide world and I have repurchased it tons of times already. I can see why it's called a body butter, the formula is quite thick. But it's not as greasy as you'd expect of a body butter, so personally, I think it's rather a very thick moisturizer. Anyhow, this is makes my dry skin oh so soft and nourished. Even on my face, it does a good job in winter. It doens't really smell like anything and it sinks in quite fast. This is really cheap and the ingredients are organic, which is awesome! I love it!
Highlighters -The Body Shop - Tinted Glow Enhancer - Shade 02
VeryAroma 5/26/2012 6:23:00 AM
I really really love this product! The effect on my cheeks is just lovely - a subtle, pearly glow. It's not glittery at all, a very fine shimmer that is only noticable as such in direct sunlight. I find this to be one of the very rare products that actually give a luminous effect. Usually, I am not a fan of highlighting and I don't like glitter. This, I use frequently. The formula is nice and easy to apply. The packaging is good too. Today, I mixed some of the glow enhancer into my bodylotion and applied it onto my legs - pretty! I will def repurchase once I'm out.
I have had Haux forever in my stash and I love it! Does it look like the most boring shade in the world in the pan? Yes. Does it look amazing on the lid and gives every eye make up a polished finish? YES! Haux is so flattering on my skin (fair with neutral/cool undertones, N1 in Face and Body). It is the perfect color to subtly define the crease and add some depth. I also like to use a tiny amount of Haux to blend out whatever color I am wearing in the crease. I am pretty sure in case of emergency this could be used as a contour/cheek color. This color is so versatile and useful. It is one of those colors you will use the most without really noticing it.
I loved the outcome of this mascara!! Pretty, pretty lashes - voluminous, black, long and quite separated. Nice brush, nice price. I also loved (exclamation mark!) how easy it was to remove it in the evening. Awesome! So far, a 5 star product. Sadly, it made my eyes itch a little. Usually, I am not super sensitive but I think this might not be the best mascara if you are wearing lenses. So, I am only giving it 3 stars. (This review is for the one in the pink tube. I exchanged it for the waterproof version in the blue tube, which is totally different and I hated and would give zero stars. Will go back, too.)
Yes! Yes, I would, no I will buy this product again! I am deeply in love! This product is perfect for those who don't need a lot of coverage but want a bit of color and to even out their skintone. However, if I use some concealer underneath and my MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural (light medium) over this, it totally works like a light foundation. For reference: I am an NC 20 and can just pull this off. For anyone lighter than that, VitaZing will probably be too dark. It gives me a wonderful slightly tanned or rather sunkissed look. Very natural! The finish on me is neither glowy nor matte but perfectly natural, just like my own skin. After a minute or two my dry skin has absorbed all the moisture. Which leads me to the best part: This stuff - used after my regular moisturizer - has given me wonderful, clear, smooth skin. I am amazed! (Shhhh, don't tell Origins, because in fact this has made my skin so nice, I hardly even need to use the VitaZing anymore.) Lasting power: I don't know how Origins does it, but especially when set with a powder, this last ALL day on me. Literally, all day. Smell = very nice: fresh & fruity Packaging = easy & simple Price = reasonable Application = super easy, I slap it on just like my moisturizer. Over all I have two words for this product: Holy Grail!
I received a generous sample from a friend to try this foundation. Lucky me!! I am absolutely in love! Will purchase in fullsize! (For reference: C2 is pretty yellow. It matches me almost perfectly, usually I am around NC 17-20, Revlon Color Stay (dry skin) Buff - EDIT: tried N1, matches me even better! C1 works as well) Why I love this: 1) *Application* with fingers is a must, but then it is sooo easy! The formula is quite liquid (water-based) but I like that. No streaks. Blends like a dream. Feels sticky for a minute, but then oh so light and nice! 2) *Finish*: I have pretty dry skin and I don't get a very dewy finish. After letting it sink in for 2 minutes, my skin looks absolutely natural. No dew, no glow, but not matte either. I like to call it satin. 3) The *coverage* ist rather sheer, but can be build to medium. With a second layer I can get away without concealer. This foundation doesn't give me doll-like, 100 % flawless skin, but it makes my skin appear even and soft. More like a tinted moisturizer. No one will ever Ever EVER be able to tell that you are actually wearing foundation (if you are using the right color). As others have suggested, I like to let it sink in for a minute before I continue with other face products. 4) Lasts more or less all day on me. Especially when set with a powder (but totally optional). Survives riding my bycicle every morning to work and back in the evening. 5) The price is great! You get 120 ml. Huge amount! I hope it won't turn bad before I am at least half way through my bottle. ;) I think this is a very easy foundation to use. Slap it on and you are good to go. No washing the brush, no worrying about harsh lines, visible patches or streaks. The bottle is easy to use. Everything about this is effortless including your look! Who wants to look like they spent an hour on their make-up? So: Yay for MACs F&B!
Could this lippie be any more gorgeous? Gosh, I love it so much right now! The colour has been described well below. It is red. A cool pinky red, not neon or too bright, with some blue and berry undertones. It is not brownish or purpleish at all. No shimmer, but not matte either. The colour is modern and adult but at the same time playful. For some reason I think of roses or peonys when I look at the colour. Contrary to the name I don't think it is a loud colour - it is very daytime-, office-appropiate. I wish it was a little more nourishing on my lips, but then - I have no lippie with such good lasting power that does not dry my lips at least a tiny bit. I guess you can't have everything. I don't take a lippie off because some balm underneath will fix this and the colour is just soooo pretty!
I really love Coralista. It is everything I wanted it to be. I am cool toned, so corals are a problem for me. I have to use it with a light hand, because it is a neutral to warm colour. But it works and it looks absolutely fabulous with some Benetint underneath (to intesify the flushed cheeks effect and to cool the colour - my favorite combo at the moment). I love the glowy shimmer, which is very subtle and just gorgeous! The packaging? Not my thing... it's ok, but huge! I prefer normal compacts like nearly any other brand uses. Especially since I threw out the brush, I don't need the extra space. Not travel-friendly. At first I wanted to take off a lippie because of the exorbitant pricetag. But I didn't because the colour is so pretty and unique and I am in love!
Wow, this product is really cool! Benetint is a cherry red liquid, that will stain your lips and cheeks. I use about two or three layers on my lips (letting them dry in between) with some lipbalm or gloss on top. This gives me a nice, grown-up, made-up look. Love it! It lasts pretty long. I dot some product on my cheeks and rub it in. One cheek at a time. You have to work fast, but it really is not as unspreadable, quick-drying as some say. At least not on my fairly dr skin. I have plenty of time to work it into my skin where I want the colour. The result is stunning and lasts the wholeee say! Cherry red cheeks, very natural. Usually I use Benetint as kind of a base and put some shimmerblush on top. But it does look gorgeous on its own, too! So, I have nearly used up my Benetint mini and will purchase the fullsize. And maybe Posietint... But I take one lippie off for the prize. It is too exprensive.
Dollymix is so pretty! It is a gorgeous bright pink without being neon. Right now it is my favorite blush. For reference, I am NC 20, cool toned with yellow undertones. Used with a light hand, it makes me look flushed and dolly - in a good way. This blush has shimmer. I want to say: glitter. But it is not really chunky glitter, it is really pretty, because it is so finely milled.
