Pressed Powders -Physicians Formula - Mineral Wear® Talc-Free Mineral Correcting Powder - Creamy Natural
rated 5 of 5

I'm a huge fan of hte mineral wear talc-free powders from PF--and this mineral correcting poder in creamy natural makes my porcelain skin simply glow--and I tend to get a bit shiny in my T-zone and with this I am pretty shine-free most of the day--when I'm busy I forget to powder my nose, but with this powder, no worries--it evens out my rosy cheeks and gives a soft matte finish once I put my Max Factor Face Finity foundation on--my face stays perfect all day--I pick these up whenever I hit a buy-one-get-one 50% off; and the packaging stinks, but what can you do--the brush is garbage and I use a large fluffy powder brush to set my makeup. LOVE--my sensitive, fair, combo skin that's turning 40 this year LOVES PF powders :) Try it!!!

Treatments -Clinique - Turnaround Concentrate Radiance Renewer
rated 5 of 5
Twizzz 4/3/2013 11:33:00 AM

I have used so many serums over the years--from EL, to Lancome, to Origins, to others of Clinique and Olay and Neutrogena (I use the Intense Wrinkle serum for day)....and this one is definite HG status for me--the price is expensive, but it's worth it--I use it every evening and my skin simply glows. The texture is improved, smoother, clearer, and this has great stuff in it. For the price, compare with other serums, this one is superior in every way--I read labels and research carefully, so I have a very definite notion of what I expect a serum to do for me and my skin. Try it, ladies and gents, you'll LOVVVVVEEEEE it :)

Absolutely love this serum, use it every day morning, put my advanced restoratives spf 30 over it in the morning and my makeup glides smoothly over it, find I need less makeup, my skin tone is greatly improved, my pores are smaller and clearer, and I simply adore this serum. I use a different serum at night (Clinique radiance renewer)....I hope they never stop making this serum!

Treatments -Neutrogena - Ageless Intensives Tone Correcting Moisture SPF 30
rated 5 of 5
Twizzz 4/3/2013 11:24:00 AM

I'm not sure if this is the right product, but my moisturizer isn't tinted--it has a tiny bit of shine due to the mica particles in it--but this is a lovely moisturizer chock full of great stuff for my aging skin (turing 40 this month)--I have fair/porcelain skin, some freckles, some discoloration/aging spots, and have sensitive skin--I use the pore refining daily exfoliating cleanser with my clarisonic and tone with my Clinique mild toner and use the serum and then this in the morning, and my makeup glides over this--it's so soft, not sticky or oily, and love the SPF 30. I get this at Bed, Bath & Beyond for $17.99, which is nearly 4 bucks cheaper than Walgreens, CVS, or Target..... My skin is soft, it glows, the aging spots are beginning to fade (thanks to the AHA and BHA in the toner and cleanser and the great stuff in the serum and moisturizer). My skin is in wonderful shape thanks, in large measure, to this product! Beautypedia lists this as a best product, which is why I tried it--and all of the products I mentioned above are listed as best products on Paula's site, which is why I tried them--they work for me! Will def. repurchase!!!!

Foundations -Cover Girl - Outlast Stay Fabulous 3 in 1 Foundation
rated 5 of 5
Twizzz 4/3/2013 11:07:00 AM

I have used everything from Smashbox (BB in fair), MUFE (Mat-Velvet in the lightest color), MAC , Philosophy, Tarte (Smooth Operator Tinted moisturizer in 02, BB in fair), EL (DW in shell), Mally Beauty (in fair) Clinique, Chanel, L'Oreal (soft ivory), Revlon (Color Stay in Buff) Stila, etc etc for the best look for me. At times I want sheer/natural coverage (for everyday work), and at other times I want fuller coverage, but hate a masky feel or something that I have to touch up all day long......and CG's colors are perfect--neutral porcelain for me--their ivory always is beautiful. This foundation doesn't transfer, sets to a soft matte, feels light on, doesn't smell, and lasts most of the day for me--love it for the great price! I dust a bit of Physician's Formula talc-free mineral face powder in Translucent or Rimmel stay matte powder in translucent and I'm all set. Well done, CG!!!

Crème -Cover Girl - AquaSmooth SPF15 Make-up
rated 5 of 5
Twizzz 4/3/2013 11:00:00 AM

I have to say, I'm rediscovering CG--their color in foundations for me is spot on--the ivory matches me perfectly--pinkish cheeks, peachy/yellow undertones, very fair/porcelain skin--so neutral fair shades work best for me. I love this cream foundation--I have dryish skin in my cheeks and more oily in the T-zone, and this works like a dream--the compact is a bit bulky for the tiny amount of product you get, but for the price, you can't beat it. No strong smell, glides right on and sets to a soft matte finish which lasts with a dusting of powder over my t-zone most of the day. I've used absolutely every single foundation, tinted moisturizer, bb-cream, and powder that's out there, and this one is pretty close to HG status for me. also love the new CG Outlast liquid foundation in SPF20 in Ivory.....

Mascara -Prestige - Total Intensity Beyond Lashes
rated 4 of 5
Twizzz 4/3/2013 10:26:00 AM

This is a very nice, inexpensive mascara--I use the Presige lipliners religiously (mocha, mochaccino, and shimmer) and have been on the prowl for a good mascara. I'm really picky, I hate spider lashes, but love a full, defined, sculpted look. Also love a true black mascara. Not too wet, not overly dry. Had been using the Jordana mascara recently, but it smudges and smears and flakes after a few hours, so it's not quite that stellar on me. Looking at the ingredients in the Prestige one, I noticed it has castor oil, which helps in hair and lash regrowth, so it's healthier than some other oils in some other mascaras. Just to give an idea of what my ideal mascara is--I love L'Oreal and had used it for years and years--first with Lash Out (which has long been discontinued), then Accentuous--my all time favorite mascara ever--over any Lancome, any Clinique, any mascara. Period. They stopped making it, and I moved to Max Factor mascaras before they stopped selling in the US. UGH!!! What's a girl with long blonde lashes to do??!!!! So frustrating! So I've been trying everything and a mascara I have been using awhile is the Rimmel Lash Accelorator, love the smaller brush--separates and doesn't clump lashes. But not huge volume.....I kinda want both, know what I mean? Also like Tarte's Lights Camera Lashes, but it's pretty pricey. So far, this one by Prestige (and I think it's a new one for them, as there were no other reviews for it yet) is great. It's jet black, goes on great with one coat, separates and pumps up the volume, nice formula, comes off easily with remover, and doesn't bug my eyes at all. I would def. repurchase this...got it at Bed, Bath & Beyond for 6.99--a total steal!!! will upload a pic to show. Check it out! :)

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Hard As Hoof Nail Strengthening Cream
rated 5 of 5
Twizzz 4/24/2012 12:20:00 PM

I actually picked this up earlier today at Walgreens, as my cuticles are really dry and my nails are beginning to split--I took off my acrylic nails about 6 weeks ago, and my nails are growing nicely, but splitting and my cuticles always look ragged despite weekly manicures. Been using the Barielle Professional Advanced rebuilding protein replenish PRO (also use Sally Hansen, the blue bottle with gold top)--and I am amping up with vitamins and hydrating with lots of water. After one use, I have to say my hands feel soooooooooo soft, buttery, and nails soaked up the creme right thru the polish--the smell is delish--cherry almond--and the creme is packed with great stuff. My only beef is that the last two ingredients are parabens, but since they're last hopefully they're minimal....otherwise perfection in a little tub that fits in my purse. I work a lot with the public and meetings/presentations, so I'm a bit fanatical about my hands and feet--want a great polished, clean, manicured look all the time. I will definitely go stock up on some more, and this looks like it's my HG hand creme for my nails :) Will update in a few weeks with more results :)

Moisturizers -Unlisted Brand - Passion fruit (Maracuja) oil
rated 5 of 5
Twizzz 4/19/2012 9:53:00 AM

After reading tons of reviews about this oil (I first saw/heard about it on QVC when they were doing a product review of Tarte's version)--I absolutely had to try this--after reading another MUA's review, I purchased some from Natural Bliss and it arrived yesterday. I got the 4oz bottle for approx $20, which is a STEAL, mind you....the smell is very organic, not unpleasant--and after cleaning my face with my Clarisonic Mia using Philosophy's Purity Made Simple, I pumped out one pump (probably 4-6 drops worth) and warmed it up in my hands and then patted it all over my face, neck, and even eyelids, then proceeded to rub it in. At first the product seemed to sit there, giving me a sheen--then after about 5 minutes, it sank right into my skin, making it baby soft. I awoke this morning with baby soft, radiant skin--and this is from using this oil ONCE! My skin is very fair, sensitive, mostly dry--and the past 2 months I've been on a thyroid medication that seems to have brought on more "oilies" in my T-zone, my pores have enlarged, and my dry cheeks and forehead are even dryer than before. Originally for the past 6+ years I have relied solely on Philosophy's Hope in a Jar for normal skin and cleansed once a day with Purity Made Simple and my skin was a happy camper. Not any more--and having gone thru literally dozens of other products from Philosophy and other lines, from cheap drugstore thru expensive, I just felt MEH about my skin....that's why this oil intrigued me--and I'm SO excited....looking into the honey experiment for cleansing, too.... Try it if you're looking for supple, smooth, radiant skin--I turn 39 next week and have always taken care of my skin--I feel this oil will really become a staple to my daily routine from now on, and getting hubby to try it too on his overdried razorburned skin :) Hope this helps!

Primer/ Corrector -Mally Beauty - Poreless Face Defender
rated 3 of 5
Twizzz 4/16/2012 2:43:00 PM

At first I thought I had received a faulty product, that I had to rub the sponge around and around in the product to get any of it to get on the sponge, then I rubbed it on my face, taking off my makeup and making messy streaks all over my face--NOT happy. After reading several reviews, I saw I was doing it wrong, so I tried again, this time gently patting the product on my face--WOW!! Such a difference, so nice and matte and finished looking--so, thought I'd share my experience on here to help others out--I got the face defender and also the eye gel, eye primer and pore perfector primer from QVC--and so far, i LOOOOVEEE me some Mally :) Wow....want to try the foundation with SPF20, but everyone says her shades run really dark, and I'm REALLY fair :( Hmmmm....we shall see! EDIT: after using this a bit more I noticed it had a drying effect that seemed to accentuate my pores and made my makeup look splotchy and uneven--I wouldn't repurchase this...

Eye Shadow -Revlon - Colorstay 12-Hour Eyeshadow quad " Sterling Rose "
rated 5 of 5
Twizzz 4/16/2012 11:44:00 AM

These are by far my fave shadows--don't crease, great pigments, great application with or without a primer--the value is awesome (mostly get them at drugstores with buy one/get one half-off), and I have these in tons of colors--the sterling rose is one of my basics and the basic nudes, too--no fallout--they are better than the MAC ones that I so love.....

Moisturizers -Philosophy - Hope in a Jar for Dry, Sensitive Skin
rated 5 of 5
Twizzz 4/16/2012 11:24:00 AM

Been a Philosophy girl for over 6 years, and had been using the original Hope in a Jar (even had the jumbo size for the past 2 years)--but two months ago I was put on thyroid medication that wreaked havoc on my skin, making me dryer in my cheeks and oilier in my t-zone--and although my purity still works wonders, I was finding I needed more moisture--so I switched to this version, and once again my skin is HAPPY :) A little goes a VERY long way, and it soaks in nicely, use it every morning and evening--LOVE this stuff--the smell isn't strong at all, very natural/herbal smelling and disappears quickly :)Need this for my entire body :)

Skincare - Body -Philosophy - Pure Grace Satin-Finish Body Oil Mist
rated 5 of 5
Twizzz 4/16/2012 11:06:00 AM

Added this to my layering regime for Pure Grace, my skin is so dry, I use this in place of my lotion, or on top of, depending on how much moisture i need--definitely use a towl to stand on, the floor gets slick if you don't--but a little goes a LONG way and gives a soft sheen to the skin that's not greasy at all--great on shoulders and legs :) LOVE pure grace--if you love the scent, TRY THIS :) It replaces perfume for me, lasts a LOT longer when layered with the lotion. I also use the gentle daily shampoo and conditioner--sulfate free and yummy smelling hair :)
