Eyeliner -L'Oreal - HIP Color Truth Cream Eyeliner in Black
rated 5 of 5

Finally, a pure black - matte - dramatic eyeliner that stays on..ALL DAY! I never got this with the brush so I can't comment on the brush quality. The eyeliner itself is fantastic and along with BB Gel Ink in Hunter has earned its place in my traincase..and I have backups ready and waiting. I performed a battery of tests when I got this LOL - I chopped onions, showered and 'rubbed my tired eyes' over and over...guess what...still on, still strong! DEF. recommend it.....its the last thing to remain on my face at the end of each day! I'm off to buy the other shades now...

Lipstick -Australis - Moisture Intense Lipstick
rated 5 of 5
Twinings 6/26/2008 7:20:00 AM

Reviewing two shades: Deja Vu and Devotion. The colour description from other reviewers are spot on so I'll pass over that. AU$8 at Target. Somewhat sheer but lovely pigmentation..they are surprisingly long lasting...I've only had to reapply once (after eating) in the last 5hrs..so I'd say yes to long-lasting. The formula feels quite moisturising, they apply smoothly (alot like slimshines) and give off a lovely natural looking shine which makes my lips look smooth and supple...I could totally kiss myself LOL!! Best of all, I swatched these against two of my holy grail MAC lippies and could barely tell the difference....Deja Vu is VERY much like Hug Me and Devotion is a dupe for VGV. Deja Vu and Devotion have just replaced Hug Me and VGV on my HG list as the moisture and shine payoff is so much better with the Australis lippies. Actually I don't think I'll bother keeping the MACs after all. I'd certainly repurchase...in fact I'll probably buy backups as well as try the rest the line.

Eyeliner -Bobbi Brown - Gel Eyeliner in Hunter
rated 5 of 5
Twinings 6/16/2008 2:16:00 AM

Hunter has just become the newest item to hit HG / Staple status and I will be sure to dedicate Hunter its very own lil spot within my traincase. I bought this shade after seeing an MUA'ers FoTD = instant lemming and I've not been disappointed. BB Gel Eyeliners apply soo well...very easy, no tugging or scratching (I also use the Black Ink) - they are IMO the longest lasting gel liner. The shade is as others have described a Khaki / Olive in the pot but the shade seems to tone down somewhat when applied - a subtle green/khaki (almost grey). It does its job without overstating its use, which makes it ideal for softer fotds, work or those of us who just can't get away with the solid harsher blacks anymore.

Lipstick -MAC - Lustre in Syrup
rated 5 of 5
Twinings 6/15/2008 5:37:00 AM

I'm with AlyHeartsYou on this one...her review pretty much sums up all that I would say. I B2M'd for this lippie...in all honesty I chose it on the spur of the moment & didn't really have huge hopes for it. I'd have spent much more time considering which shade I was choosing if I'd been spending money to buy it! Now having said all that...I am so pleased to have chosen Syrup - I really am soo surprised that I have overlooked this shade for so long. It has quickly become a fast favourite and I can see myself reaching for this often. I will certainly re-purchase.

Blush -NYX - Terracotta
rated 5 of 5
Twinings 6/7/2008 9:23:00 AM

My current HG staple blush. Right now I'm on a NYX blush kick...I can quite confidently say that NYX are right up there...on par with high end brands like NARS and MAC...in fact there are quite a few MAC dupes amongst the NYX blushes. Terracotta for example is IMO a perfect dupe for MAC Margin...I bought Margin - swatched and compared the two and have placed Margin up for swap...I'll take the NYX over the MAC on this shade for sure. A lovely bronze with shimmer....applied its a wonderful contour colour that imparts a natural healthy glow. Another of my blush shades that seems to work very well for a great many different ppl (who won't stay the hell outta my traincase LOL) - I've repurchased a couple backups already (at this measly price why wouldn't you) as well as purchased some to use as gifts for family/friends.

Blush -NARS - Cream Blush in Gueule de Nuit [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
Twinings 6/7/2008 9:16:00 AM

For reference: I'm a weird mix of NC20 - NW25 depending, brunette with green eyes. One of my favs and def. a staple in my traincase. Guele de Nuit in the pan is somewhat scary looking...a bronzed corally shade with obvious shimmer. I was a little worried I'd made the wrong choice as I don't usually go in for such bright colours...BUT it works sooo well for me, its very pigmented so the trick is to build and blend, build and blend - but once you get it right...wow...ttexture is lovely & easy to work with...this is a total favourite because so far it has worked on every person that has dabbled in my traincase - I have to guard it jealously & make sure my SILs & BFFs return it to its rightful place LOL

Blush -NARS - Cream Blush in Penny Lane
rated 5 of 5
Twinings 6/7/2008 9:10:00 AM

For reference: I'm a weird mix of NC20 - NW25 depending, brunette with green eyes. One of my favs and def. a staple in my traincase. Penny Lane in the pan isn't particularly impressive...I was wrong. For me, it creates a light dewy very natural look, and its my go to each day. But what I really love is that its so versatile....I can use this as a base for any number of other blushes (layered lightly over the top) - my favourite combo is Penny Lane with NYX Terracotta. Texture is great...blendability is easy as pie. Will make sure I always have this in my traincase.

Blush -NARS - Madly
rated 5 of 5
Twinings 6/7/2008 9:02:00 AM

For reference: I'm a weird mix of NC20 - NW25 depending, brunette with green eyes. Madly is a lovely shade and works well on me - applied (on me) this is a soft beige and imparts a real glow. I reach for this quite often. What I love is how finely milled the shimmer is when applied and how pigmented these blushes are...I would certainly re-purchase to keep this a staple in my traincase.

Blush -NARS - Sin
rated 4 of 5
Twinings 6/7/2008 8:56:00 AM

As others have described Sin is a muted berry with golden shimmer. Its a lovely shade and works well on me - For reference: I'm a weird mix of NC20 - NW25 depending, brunette with green eyes. I don't tend to reach for it often BUT I am happy to have this in my stash as an option. What I love is how finely milled the shimmer is when applied and how pigmented these blushes are...I'm not sure its unique enough to re-purchase though.

Blush -Lancome - Blush Subtil - Cappucine
rated 5 of 5
Twinings 5/7/2008 5:19:00 AM

I am extremely impressed by this product. I can well imagine this becoming a staple and well-loved item in my traincase. I purchased this item based on reviews & swatches from MUA - it is exactly as I expected if not more. A neutral beige with soft pink! A lovely buildable matte and as another reviewer states...so finely milled you only see the colour (not the product). Certainly a blush/contouring shade you could use each and every day (then layer over with another blush to add drama). I have a feeling I might actually hit pan on a blush for a change!

Eyeliner -Trucco - Graphic Liquid Eyeliner in Aromeda
rated 4 of 5
Twinings 4/13/2008 11:22:00 AM

Just received this in the mail today. This was purchased from eBay and to be honest was just a 'extra' I added onto my list of buys from the seller to round out the amount I was spending. I have to say that I was VERY pleasantly surprised. Its a rich metallic forest green and looks fab! Didn't particularly like the tip applicator it comes with...its difficult to apply a perfect line with it....but I swabbed some product out onto back of hand and used a different brush with excellant results. In short: A lush rich vibrant colour, long lasting (6hrs now and counting) & quick drying. Based on this one item, I'm interested in looking up more items from Trucco.
