Mascara -L'Oreal - Telescopic

This is the only mascara wand that grabs every one of my skimpy, blonde lashes and coats them completely. No clumps and a second coat is no problem. I can even poke the wand around the outer corners to grab those pesky lashes. The formula gives me no trouble.

Polishes -Sonia Kashuk - Nail Color - Fatigued

Wow, this looked like the sold out Chanel khakis that I forgot to pull the trigger on. So I stumbled upon this one and I bought it immediately, last one too! Its fantastic, nearly opaque in one coat (but I use two anyway) and it s the fasted drying nailpolish I have ever owned. Wears well, looks great against my pale feet. Love!

Styling Products -Garnier - Fructis Sleek and Shine Weightless Anti-Frizz Serum
rated 4 of 5
Twikki 3/7/2010 12:33:00 AM

My hair is: Very thick, straight with a fuzzy texture in areas and it is color treated. I wear it in a short bob and it is very difficult to get it smooth. I find that this product works for my on dry hair only. I use a pump and run it through my hair roots to ends and it really improved the rough texture and adds quite a bit of shine. I never find it greasy.

Moisturizers -Olay - Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream
rated 5 of 5
Twikki 8/17/2009 10:43:00 PM

I just picked up my second jar. I like this a lot. I have a hard time with retinoids and sensitive skin but I wanted to do something antiaging, so based on internet reviews, I decided to try the microsculpt over the pro x line. After the first week I noticed my skin was more even colored and plumper. I have one fine naso line and this helped plump up the area so it is less noticeable. Its also fairly rich so it replaces my night cream routine. I only use this at night because its too moisturizing under makeup. I like that its cheap enough that I can slather it on my entire neck.

Eye Shadow -Pixi - Eye Beauty Kit in No.11 Mod
rated 5 of 5
Twikki 8/16/2009 8:44:00 PM

I bought this on a whim and although the price was high for Target, my rationale was the amount of shades that you get with the palette. I'm very fair with light eyes and blonde hair and smokey eye kits are often too dark and make me look ghoulish. I wanted a strong daytime eye and this palette was perfect. I can do a classic smokey eye, a more sculpted Twiggy eye (mod, like the name says) and even a toned down natural eye. The colors are buildable and work well wet or dry. They layer really well, allowing me to get the hang of it without worry about having to start over. Of course, the brushes are key and I use a few but the nice thing is that these shadows stay where you put them instead of traveling and creating just a mushy eye of grayish brown. The darkest charcoal shade is great for lining, I smudge it into my lash line wet.

Liquid -Tarte - ReCreate Anti-Aging Foundation With Wrinkle Rewind Technology SPF 15
rated 2 of 5
Twikki 6/15/2009 11:30:00 PM

I wanted to like this new Tarte foundation because I liked the idea of a vitamin C treatment on my face all day, doing its thing. Smooth Operator has been a HG for me for years so I had high hopes. I use the palest in S.O. so I went for the palest in this formula, porcelain, however it was too dark and pinkish. Goes on smooth but is not at all moisturizing. It broke me out badly on my chin after using it for two weeks. The first day I switched back to Smooth Operator, my skin calmed down and started to clear up dramatically. Also, unlike S.O., this stuff left a "texture" on my skin. You could see the makeup and it emphasized dry patches. Overall my skin looked kind of dead and mask like, and of course when it started to break out, just horrible. I will return it, sorry Sephora, not my usual style but this product really failed.

Lip Treatments -Sally Hansen - Maximum Collagen Lip Treatment
rated 4 of 5
Twikki 8/7/2007 9:24:00 AM

I'm on my fifth tube of this product. I have full lips, but they are textured and often dry. This is the only product that smooths my lips out and primes them perfectly for gloss or lipstick. I find it does have a slight plumping effect when used regularly. I use it morning and night along with my skincare/moisturizer routine. The texture is nice, thick but not like petroleum jelly, and I find that it lasts.

Crème -Vincent Longo - Water Canvas
rated 5 of 5
Twikki 4/26/2006 11:19:00 PM

First thing to know about this foundation: DO NOT use the lousy VL latex sponge of any other latex sponge to apply this makeup. I found that the oval flocked sponges at Sally's (or Jan Iredale) are the only sponges that work with this. I would imagine that a foundation brush might work well too, but I'm not a foundation brush user so I couldn't say for sure. Also, don't use the cheapie round velour flocked sponges from target or Walmart, they will disintegrate into the makeup and make a mess of a very expensive product. Once I got the GOOD flocked sponge, this makeup became a HG. When you first apply it, it seems like nothing is going on your skin, which is confussing because I thought at first that it wasn't doing anything for me. But after a few dabs of concealer in my usual problem areas, blush, lipstick and all of a sudden, I have perfect looking skin with no signs of foundation. WOW, this stuff lives up tp the hype. I've always loved VL foundations because he makes them ligh enough for my super pale complexion and water canvas in Porcelain did not let me down, its perfect. Lasts all day, I only touch up with MAC blot compact powder when needed. The packaging does suck and it CAN dry out. I accidentally didn't put the lid on perfect and as a result, the last 1/3 of my first Water Canvas came away from the edges and was a little tricky to get out with the sponge, but still looked great and was worth a little extra effort. If you are like me and are very pale and foundations almost always "show up" on your skin either in the form of texture or "off" color or if all foundations oxidize on your skin, give this one a try.

Moisturizers -Aveeno - Positively Radiant anti-wrinkle cream
rated 4 of 5
Twikki 10/19/2005 12:46:00 AM

Read a good review of this in Allure magazine and I needed to add an antiwrinkle/antioxident product to my routine, so I thought I'd give this a try. Im a PPP with combo/flakey acne prone skin, very sensitive. After two weeks of use I have had no breakouts and my skin is definately brighter and more even tones. I don't really have any wrinkles except for some early furrow lines, but I did have splotchiness from sun damage in my youth that I've been using at home peels to improve. This fits in with my current routine of one weekly Philosophy microdelivery peels and asprin masks. I use this day and night. I'll probably need to add my Kiehls repair cream as the weather gets colder as this is a very light weight cream, making it perfect for the mornings under makeup. It soaks up quickly and leaves my skin prepped for m/u. I wish there wasn't so much fragrance in it. It doesnt smell bad, I just prefer no scent in my skincare products.

Lipstick -NARS - Pigalle
rated 5 of 5
Twikki 5/24/2005 10:41:00 PM

The color is a warm nutmeg with a subtle cinnamon undertone. This is a favorite of mine, looks great with a deep peach blush. I like to top it with a sheer gold gloss and MAC Spice lip liner. Great formula, keeps my lips soft and its long lasting, I only have to reapply after eating.

Liquid -Bourjois - Le Fond de Teint
rated 4 of 5
Twikki 5/24/2005 10:37:00 PM

I like this easy to use foundation. Its light, but sets on the matte side, nice and polished. Does not turn orangey, ever, which is great for me because most foundations on me do. Reminds of of a MAC foundation, without the breakouts. The squeeze bottle is very sanitary, but sometimes the product flings out after taking off the cap if you aren't careful.

Blush -Flirt - FLIRT Peek-a-blush Hot Mama
rated 5 of 5
Twikki 4/30/2005 8:19:00 PM

Looking at this at the store in the pan, it looks like light tan blah. No shimmer, no visible peach or pink undertones, not even sand, just a dull beige. On, this blush is a sophisticated warm pinkish beige, so perfect for my very PPP skin and just what I was looking for since I'm tiring of the baby doll blush look. If you want something different, check out this blush. Flirt blushes are very good quality, they do not last as long as NARS but they DO last pretty well IMO. They are easy to apply and are softer like Cargo's blushes.

Lip Gloss -Lancome - Star Gloss - Corail
rated 5 of 5
Twikki 2/16/2005 10:11:00 PM

Gah. Gasp. Sha. Muh. Gah. Love. This. My first and only to date lancome lip gloss, its amazing. Bought it, tried it on at home, immediately bought a back up off ebay. I plan on hoarding more in the coming weeks. No shimmer, gorgeous salmon pink gloss that functions as a neutral. Fairly opaque. Very mod, good staying power. I've been looking for this color for years to replace an Orlane glossy lip stick I had eons ago and could never get again. My search is over. LOVE.

Lipstick -NARS - Niagara
rated 5 of 5
Twikki 1/31/2005 8:37:00 PM

I really like this lipstick, its a pinky coral. I believe this is in the satin finish, which to me is like a soft matte, like MAC's Amplified formula. I think you need a slightly edgier look to pull this shade off, otherwise, as one reviewer already said, it can look a bit dated, however, with an edgier hairstyle and color along with other informed MU and clothing choices, this color can tie a cool retro look together, (think Anthropolgie catalog). Having said that, I found that applying it carefully is the key to making it look nice and flattering. Apply it on lightly balmed lips, but do not layer lip gloss over it, it looks horrible. Left matte, this soft formulation kind of sinks into your lips, rather than sit on top of your lips, giving the vibrant color a more natural look. I love this with an understated doe eye with light gold or beige e/s and a light peachy blush.

Lip Gloss -Smashbox - DIVA
rated 5 of 5
Twikki 1/29/2005 6:31:00 PM

Diva is a frost gold gloss with peachy undertones. I really like smashbox glosses. Some are sheer but many are more like a liquid lipstick with sheen, Diva fits that catagory. Lots of pigmentation and it lasts, but also looks great over a nude l/s. Smashbox glosses have great packaging and the lid "clicks" closed so you know its closed all the way.
