Treatments -Aussie - 3 Minute Miracle
Twentysevenjo 2/29/2012 8:46:00 PM
Amazing, amazing product. I use this as a daily conditioner, rather than a treatment. This conditioner is very, very thick and potent (a little goes a long way). I'm not a big fan of the smell, but the results are well worth it. This makes my hair so soft and manageable without weighing it down at all. Highly recommended. I only wish they sold a bigger size...

BB Cream -Garnier - BB Cream Miracle Skin Perfector - Light/Medium
Twentysevenjo 2/29/2012 3:34:00 PM
I've been hearing a lot of talk about BB cream lately, and I use a lot of Garnier skin products- so trying this BB cream seemed like a natural choice. First of all, I have very oily, moderately acne prone skin, so foundation is my TOP makeup priority. My HG foundation is Almay TLC in Ivory 01. It is the best mattifying foundation I've ever tried (even compared to many high end brands). Oily skinned people might be scared to try BB cream. I was too. However, I've been mixing my foundation with the BB cream, half & half. The results are amazing. I'm extremely fair skinned and cool-toned, so Garnier's BB cream in light/medium looked a tad dark and yellow at first. But I haven't had any problems with the coloring while mixed with my foundation. I focus most of the product in the center of my face, and blend outward. That seems to give the most natural look-- and so far, I have nothing but good things to say! No unusual breakouts, very minimal added shine, and a great, natural, dewy finish. My skin feels like it can breathe. The product is very light, almost a mousse-like texture. It has a slight, pleasant fragrance, which hasn't irritated my skin at all. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to try a BB cream.

Foundations -Almay - TLC Truly Lasting Color
Twentysevenjo 4/4/2011 8:27:00 PM
Hands down, the VERY BEST foundation I have ever used. I've repurchased this numerous times, and it has not disappointed me at all. I have very oily skin, and this foundation keeps my skin oil-free for 6+ hours. I prep my skin with clinique mattifying gel, smashbox photo finish primer, then I set the foundation with e.l.f. hd powder. The consistency is thick, which I really like. It makes for easy coverage, and is great mixed with a moisturizer or bb cream. And the pump is an added bonus! Highly, highly recommended.

Loose Powders -E.L.F. - Studio High Definition Powder
Twentysevenjo 4/4/2011 6:44:00 PM
Best powder I have ever used. Hands down. I used to blot my face every 1-2 hours, and now I don't have to blot for at least 6 hours. Amazing quality for such a great price. I order 3 or 4 at a time because I never want to run out. Thanks e.l.f.

Polishes -OPI - Suzi Skis in the Pyrenees
Twentysevenjo 9/20/2010 12:37:00 PM
I had this color put on at a nail salon. I was looking for a deep grey, charcoaly color-- but unfortunately it came out almost straight black, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. but if you're looking for a deep grey color, this probably is not the right one. I'm on day 5 of the manicure & the color is lasting great! no chipping so far!

Treatments -Sally Hansen - Nail Protex - nail strengthener with vitamins
Twentysevenjo 8/23/2010 11:59:00 PM
I bought this because lately my nails have been splitting & breaking-- quite frustrating. This seemed like a good option because it has protein & vitamins, and the blue tint is also nice. The first night I applied this treatment, it looked really nice! And my nails felt stronger already, but the next morning after I took a shower, I noticed something hanging off my index finger & the entire layer of polish had peeled off my nail.... weird! What made matters worse was my nail was left looking damaged. I gave the polish two more tries, and sure enough... peeled right off every time. Bad product, unfortunately!

Lip Gloss -E.L.F. - Mineral Lip Gloss
Twentysevenjo 7/27/2010 1:02:00 PM
I bought this during the 60% off sale. They were sold out of the pale pink color that i wanted, so I randomly bought "Wild", which is a sheer hot pink color. I really like it, even though it's not something I would normally wear. It looks good over nude lipsticks, which is how I've been using it. Plus this is a great, natural lip gloss & not sticky at all. No toxic chemicals and no parabens, so I feel great about using it. I can't wait to try other colors.

Lip Treatments -E.L.F. - Therapeutic Conditioning Balm - Vanilla Creme
Twentysevenjo 7/27/2010 12:45:00 PM
I'm very disappointed with the consistency of this product. Very slick, which I don't prefer for balms. The smell is not great, a little too strong actually. I don't find this to be "therapeutic" to my lips at all.

Lipstick -E.L.F. - Mineral Lipstick in Runway Pink
Twentysevenjo 7/27/2010 12:34:00 PM
ELF's mineral lipsticks are great, however the color is pretty close to my natural lip color- so it's not overly exciting for me. It's definitely a nice pink color though, and it's completely matte which is always a plus me... I've purchased way too many frosty lipsticks and hated them. So far I only like this lipstick paired half&half with ELF's Natural Nymph lipstick. Much more flattering for me. I may or may not repurchase. But regardless, I recommend it to anyone because the lipstick is made of great ingredients. No parabens, no dyes and no preservatives. Much safer to use than most brands of lipsticks.

Makeup Brushes -E.L.F. - Eyelash and Brow Wand
Twentysevenjo 7/27/2010 11:50:00 AM
For $1.00, this is a great buy. I needed a new brow brush, and this works great for taming for my brows before applying makeup. I don't use this for my lashes, I don't know why... it just doesn't seem to do anything for them.

Blush -E.L.F. - Mineral Blush- Coral
Twentysevenjo 7/26/2010 11:47:00 PM
I like this blush. The color works for my fair skin. There is no noticeable shimmer, which I really like. Plus, it is free of talc and parabens. It's quite messy (I prefer pressed blush), but you can't beat the price.

Treatments -E.L.F. - Shine Eraser Blotting Sheets
Twentysevenjo 7/26/2010 11:38:00 PM
I'm pleasantly surprised with these blotting sheets considering the price. I've tried clean & clear, boscia and some other brands, and E.L.F's blotting sheets are not inferior. in fact, they are almost an exact dupe to boscia's! only smaller. these are cheap enough that I keep a package in my purse, my car, my makeup bag, etc.

Self Tanners -Nivea - Summer Touch daily moisturizer
Twentysevenjo 7/15/2010 7:40:00 AM
I've actually used this for three years now & for 2 main reasons: it doesn't turn me orange and it doesn't smell like i rubbed toxic waste all over my body. I've always been hesitant to try new self tanners because of the fear of turning orange. This moisturizer definitely doesn't have orange tendencies, however my skin has turned a little yellow once or twice from it. All I do is lay off it for two days & everything is back to normal. I'm not sure why that happens... over application I think. The smell is very reasonable. I've used a Coppertone self tanner, which worked fine, but it smell like death! The biggest con for this Nivea self tanner is the bottle. I really wish it had a pump! But for the price ($6-7) it's not that bad. I've certainly paid waaay more for worse moisturizers! 4 lips for less-than-par packaging & the yellowing factor, which thankfully has only happened twice in three years.

Polishes -Unlisted Brand - Pure Ice - Taupe Drawer
Twentysevenjo 7/15/2010 7:32:00 AM
I absolutely love this color. It has the appearance of purple without being cool toned, which I love. I'm fair skinned with cool undertones, so I find that cool colors on my nails wash me out. This color is so great. I was pleasantly surprised & I only spent $2 on it. The quality is much better than expected for such a cheap polish. This is one of my go-to colors. Casual, but also really fun. Oh, and most importantly--- no glitter at all. completely matte, which is always a plus for me!

Polishes -Unlisted Brand - Pure Ice - Kiss Me Here
Twentysevenjo 7/15/2010 7:27:00 AM
I've been searching for a flat, dark grey nail color for over a year... and I finally found this one at Walmart one night, unexpectedly. I really like this brand in general. The price is amazing & the quality is not too bad (top coat is a must with this polish) This color looks great on me & I'm very fair skinned. I've received lots of comments on it. The grey is really nice, not too dark. I'd almost compare it to the color of an elephant, maybe a tad bit darker. The best part is that it's matte- NO GLITTER. I've bought far too many great colors that were ruined by glitter. This color is great, and kinda edgy which I like.
