Tinted Moisturizer -MAC - Studio Moisture Tint SPF15
Tommygrl1327 8/27/2012 6:27:00 PM
I have normal to dry skin. I like this product because it blends to a natural finish. It provides a light coverage so it evens out some of my redness around my nose and somewhat covers my under eye circles. However, it does not do anything for my hyper pigmentation on my cheeks. Overall, though I think it's a good product, because it looks natural on my skin and it's hydrating. However, be aware that it will leave a shiny finish b/c it has SPF in the product. However, I deal with that by using the Mac Prep + Prime finishing powder to "set" the foundation after I've applied it and that takes care of the shine problem.

Foundations -Make Up For Ever - HD High Definition Foundation
Tommygrl1327 8/7/2012 9:39:00 AM
I am a little on the fence about this product, and I am mostly on the fence because of the cost of it. So here are my pros and cons: Pro: Using a foundation brush it blends well, and it evens out my skin tone well. I set it with Mac Prep + Prime powder and it lasts all day. It makes my skin look good in photos Con: Pricey!!! Not a full coverage foundation. It's more of a light / medium coverage. You can definitely still see my hyper pigmentation through this foundation. However, it does cover up any redness around my nose or chin. So it does even out skin tone. If I have blemishes it also does not cover that. I need to use a separate concealer for that. I will keep using this product till I am finished with it, but I don't think I can justify buying it again given the price point.

Eye Shadow -Make Up For Ever - Eye shadows
Tommygrl1327 8/7/2012 9:24:00 AM
I was going to be in the bridal party for a wedding, but didn't want to get my make up done by a make up artist. I had heard some really good things about make up forever and their products so I decided to treat myself to a make up lesson and some new products. I had never used make up forever's eye shadows previously, but now I am converted. However, that being said it took me a few times to practice applying them correctly. Like some of the previous reviews said, a little bit goes a long way. I would definitely just apply a little bit first then build from there if you want a more intense color. When I practiced putting on my make up the first few times I was way too generous in my application and it just didn't look right. Try al light touch first and then build carefully from there and that helped a lot. I am also happy to say that the shadows STAY PUT all day. My eye make up for the wedding went the distance from 7AM all the way to 11PM at night so I am happy with that aspect of them as well. Also I appreciate that their matte colors are truly matte and the more shimmery colors are not overly so either.

Treatments (Eye) -Olay - Regenerist Eye Lifting Serum
Tommygrl1327 4/25/2010 11:38:00 AM
I have only a few very fine lines beginning to form around my eyes so I decided to buy this to help prevent them from getting worse. I only apply this at night. It goes on pretty smooth, but I've noticed in the morning sometimes I feel a little cakey around my eyes. After about 6 months of use I think my lines are only a tiny bit less noticeable, but the change is almost imperceptible - so much that I'm probably the only one who could tell the difference when I hold the magnifying side of my mirror up really close to my eyes. However, that being said, love the packaging (pumps are so much more convenient and sanitary!) and the price can't be beat so I suppose I'll buy it again.

Moisturizers -Olay - Total Effects-Fragrance Free
Tommygrl1327 12/5/2009 1:30:00 PM
My skin is normal with some dryness in the winter and sometimes I break out a little based on my hormonal cycle. My skin is also sensitive to fragrance in creams (I tend to break out in rash and get red bumps when creams are scented)...so after searching high and low for a fragrance free cream I finally found the best moisturizer I've tried yet! I love this moisturizer - it moisturizes well, doesn't make me break out, and the best part yet - it has IMPROVED my skin. My skin tone is definitely better and I look more "rested" somehow - I've never received so many compliments on my skin in years! And also you can't beat the great price on Olay products too. Once upon a time I used expensive creams like La Mer...but no longer! This cream is great bang for your buck!

Treatments (Eye) -Boscia - Enlivening Amino-AG Eye Treatment

My eyes have a lot of puffiness (especially in the morning) and I do have a tendency toward slight dark circles. I bought this eye cream because I love the packaging - so convenient with the little pump, which I think is so much cleaner than dipping your fingers into a jar. While I have seen no improvement in my dark circles - it DOES work to take away the puffiness around my eyes - so I would buy this again just for that.

Concealers -Almay - smart shade
Tommygrl1327 3/17/2009 3:09:00 PM
I have yellow toned skin - with slight dark circles and some light acne scarring. I tried this to cover my dark circles. It worked pretty well, but at the end of the day I did notice it has a tendency to sink into some of my fine lines and made them more noticeable. So not exactly the best concealer, but not bad considering the price.

Treatments -Sally Hansen - Spa Creme Hair Removal Facial Wand
Tommygrl1327 9/6/2008 2:07:00 PM
I am so glad I am not the only person who accidentally left this creme on too long! I had the same experience - I left the creme on my upper lip for a little bit too long and it totally burned my skin! However, if you use the creme according to the directions on the package (only 3-4 mins) it hardly removes any hair at all! Do not use! You could end up with a burned upper lip!

Moisturizers -Neutrogena - Anti-oxidant Age Reverse Night Cream
Tommygrl1327 5/31/2008 2:47:00 AM
This creme was the worst! It took off a layer of my skin! And not in a good way! After only a week and a half of using it my skin started to have some really weird rough patches -- then suddenly the patches became really really dry and I started peeling! I was so alarmed! I stopped using the creme and the sensitive parts of my skin are still healing. Not using ever again!

Lotions/ Creams -Dove - Summer Glow

I don't self-tan too often because of a bad mishap that happened to me once with another product. But my legs were getting scarily white and I decided to give it a go again. I was pleasantly surprised. This product is pretty good and it although it does leave you a little bit sticky it left me with far fewer splotches than the last self-tanning product I used. Definitely don't touch anything for at least 5 minutes while it dries, but overall this product is virtually full proof. Gave me a nice bronze color and was a good price!

Powder -Bare Escentuals - Bare Minerals ALL
Tommygrl1327 11/24/2006 9:51:00 PM
I love bare minerals. I was skeptical when the makeup artist at the store told me that it would improve my skin, but she was right! My skin definitely has broken out a lot less than it usually does. And the coverage is pretty good for a light powder. It doesn't cover things up per say, but it does even out your skin tone really well so that you just look better, and it's very natural, which is great. People keep telling me I look better, but they're not sure what. It's definitely the bare minerals foundation! However, there are some drawbacks to this product. The packaging is TERRIBLE. The powder always gets everywhere when I open it. It is a very messy product to work with, and if you don't do the proper technique to apply it your skin can look cakey, but once you get the hang of the tap, swirl buff technique then you really do end up looking pretty fabulous. Highly recommended, but be careful with the packaging.

Powder -Neutrogena - Healthy Skin Pressed Powder
Tommygrl1327 10/16/2006 6:00:00 PM
This powder is not the best, but it's pretty good for drug store brand. Do not use the little powder pad that comes with the compact--it goes on way to heavy and looks horribly cakey. But if you use a separate powder brush it goes on just fine and actually looks pretty good, plus gives good coverage that suprisingly stays put all day. I recommend it.

Tinted Moisturizer -Laura Mercier - Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20 - Oil Free
Tommygrl1327 10/16/2006 5:53:00 PM
I like this foundation because it is almost weightless, and for my skin that's really important because I tend to break out easily when I introduce a new product to my skin. Admitedly, the foundation does not provide good coverage for my blemishes (I have to use a separate concealer), but it does even out my skin color really well so it's flattering. I recommend using a little bit of power on top of it because it tends to go on to your skin and make you look shiny.

Treatments (Eye) -DHC - Q10 Eye Cream
Tommygrl1327 6/9/2006 3:50:00 AM
I have mixed feelings about this eye cream. I have been looking for a good eye cream for a really long time and so far most of the ones I have tried have fallen short of my expectations. I only use the Q10 eye cream at night and while it seemed to moisturize my under eye area it didn't do much else. There is also a problem with it getting into my eyes when I wake up in the morning as well. I don't know how it does it, but somehow I feel it heavy on my skin more in the morning than when I apply it at night. Anyway, it's an ok cream, but nothing really special--I still have visible fine lines!

Treatments (Eye) -DHC - Eye Bright
Tommygrl1327 6/9/2006 3:45:00 AM
I'm not crazy about this product. I think it does work to a certain extent, but wears off after a while. Normally, I have very puffy eyes, which is annoying because people always think I am tired. I apply the eye bright to my under eye area and it seems to eliminate some of the puffiness, but later in the day it seems to come back. I am a well rested person so there isn't any other factors contributing to my eye puffiness--so overall, I don't think this product is very effective.
