Treatments (Eye) -Chanel - Sublimage Eye
TokyoCowgirl 9/30/2009 12:10:00 AM
I don't know how well this product works as an anti-wrinkle eye cream since I'm not dealing with those issues yet but I loved Sublimage Eye as an under-eye moisturizer. I have read reviews where people stated it helped reduce dark circles and puffiness, but I felt like this product made my eyes even puffier, especially in the morning. I actually debated purchasing it again just to use in the PM even though it's way out of my price range and I wasn't satisfied with its overall performance but, as you can see, I decided not to. My advice to prospective buyers is this: If you're older than thirty and have the money to spend, give it a shot. A little of this product goes a long way (my deluxe .13oz sample lasted several months) and it is really reallly really hydrating as an under-eye cream. But, if you're like me and you're not worried about wrinkles yet and you can't afford to throw $175 at something you're not absolutely in love with, there are probably better eye creams out there for you (and if you find one, let me know, I have been searching for years!).

Cleansers -Phytomer - purifying cleansing gel
TokyoCowgirl 9/29/2009 11:38:00 PM
This is the only face wash that I have used that manages to keep my pores as un-clogged as possible without drying out or irritating my skin. I use it in conjunction with the Fresh Soy Cleanser, but only because the Fresh Soy Cleanser succeeds in removing my makeup and waterproof mascara the first time I rinse it off, while the Phytomer Purifying Cleansing Gel (Oligopur) does not. As the reviewers below have noted, a little goes a long way - you only have to use a pea-sized amount for your whole face. I typically only use this product in the evening and I have only had to purchase it twice in two years. I did notice a little acne when I initially started using this product, but after a week all of that stopped and I haven't had any acne issues since. It does smell masculine, but at least it's a fresh, citrus marine "masculine' scent, and honestly I would rather have clear pores and deal with it than have clogged pores with a more floral alternative.

Lotions/ Creams -Fresh - Brown sugar body cream
TokyoCowgirl 9/29/2009 11:18:00 PM
This product was a huge disappointment for me, as I'm usually satisfied with Fresh skincare and body treatments. I love their hair care line, the Sugar hand cream is a frequent purchase of mine, and their Soy Face Cleanser has been my go-to favorite for years. While the Brown Sugar Body Cream smelled citrus-y and a bit like Pledge (not bad but not okay) and wasn't greasy, it wasn't moisturizing enough for my severely dry arms and legs. I'm not sure what purpose it served, frankly, as I felt like it just sat on the surface of my skin and the scent didn't last long enough to compensate for its failure as a body cream (especially a body cream that is moderately pricey). I will definitely not re-purchase this product and I will probably never finish using the product I did purchase.

Moisturizers -Caudalie - Pulpe Vitaminee Energizing Cream
TokyoCowgirl 9/29/2009 3:59:00 AM
I have been using this product day and night for almost a year now and for the most part I am very pleased. It is moisturizing enough for me, lasts all day, and doesn't clog my pores or irritate my sensitive skin. That said, I feel like it leaves my skin looking a bit too greasy in the morning. I tried switching to a lighter moisturizer with an SPF for the AM but I found myself applying the Caudalie cream to my drier areas (cheeks and mouth region) so, for now, I think I'm going to stick with this one.

Cleansers -Fresh - Soy Face Cleanser
TokyoCowgirl 9/29/2009 3:12:00 AM
I have used this product religiously for several years but only as a makeup remover. Even though it always washes away my waterproof mascara the first time and with minimal scrubbing (the exception being the discontinued Chanel DramaLash in Jet) it is gentle and my face always feels hydrated after use. Still, I always follow with a true "cleanser" (Phytomer OligoPur) to remove the dirt and oil that clogs my pores, something I think the Soy Face Cleanser fails to do.

Mascara -Bourjois - Bourjois Pump Up the Volume Waterproof (Black)
TokyoCowgirl 9/29/2009 2:55:00 AM
Now that this mascara is not available at Sephora anymore I have to buy it when I visit Japan, which is fortunately often enough that I can get a new tube every two to three months (nicely aligning with the life-span of this product). Even though I repeatedly buy other waterproof mascaras (including another hard to find discontinued favorite - Chanel Drama Lash in Jet), this one has remained my favorite for day-to-day use. I wouldn't say that it adds volume, at least not for me, but it does lengthen and separate and I never have to worry about too many coats creating that "mas-scary" look. My favorite part about this product is that when I curl my lashes it holds the curl most of the day, something that other waterproof mascaras often fail to do. My least favorite part, and the reason I only gave it a rating of four out of five lipsticks, is that it works best in the initial month after purchase - after two months it works, but not nearly as well. **Update** I just returned from my most recent trip to Tokyo and was informed by all of the Bourjois vendors that this mascara has been discontinued completely :-(
