Eye Shadow -Maybelline - Eyestudio Quad - Irresistibly Ivy

When choosing amongst the Maybelline eyeshadow quads, the green eyeshadow really stood out and I just had to have it. I've always been a fan of Maybelline eyeshadows due to their great selection of colours and great pigmentation but these quads are la creme de la creme. These eyeshadows have a velvet-like feel to them and its application and blending are flawless. The first colour is a champagne beige. I only wish it showed up a bit more but I would use it as a highlight and on the inner duct for a simple natural eye. The second colour is a light orange-copper. Great pigment but it doesn't go well with my skin tone so this one I hardly touch. The third colour is truly that irresistible ivy green. It's a bit cool toned but absolutely beautiful. The fourth colour is a deep brown. I love this colour and I often use it to blend other looks together as it gives such a beautiful warm tone. All in all, I've hit the bottom of the pan for the green eyeshadow. I only wish Maybelline used the same silk formula for all of their other eyeshadows and that they sold the green and brown in singles.

Mascara -Maybelline - XXL Pro Volume Waterproof
rated 4 of 5

After an entire year of being in love with this mascara, I've finally grown tired of it. I have the waterproof version in Very Black. I put up with its extreme difficulty to be removed, awkward spiderleg ends (d/t the white primer) in exchange for its dry formula, ability to hold a curl (Chinese girl lashes) and length. In terms of volume, it doesn't make too much of a noticeable difference but in comparison to the XXL Extension, there is a tiny bit more volume. What was most important to me was the amazing curl this mascara kept. I really do enjoy the dry formula and perhaps for others it was a bit too dry. However at the end of a long day, it was quite painful drenching my eyes in makeup remover and still waking up with raccoon eyes. No flaking but somehow some of the white primer would begin to peep through after 8-10 hours of wear. Verdict: I would probably purchase this mascara sometime else in the future but I think it's time to look for another mascara that would plump up my lashes a bit more. Believe me, my lashes could use the extra help.

Eyeliner -L'Oreal - Telescopic Liquid Eyeliner
rated 3 of 5

I purchased the L'Oreal telescopic mascara and the eyeliner came as a bonus in the package - which was lovely at the time. I only use liquid eyeliners as virtually every pencil liner smudges on my oily eyelids. My go-to liquid eyeliner is the L'Oreal Lineur Intense and I thought, hey the Telescopic shouldn't be too far off. The Telescopic liner was quite the opposite: The fluid was extremely runny; I thought it was running out even when I just opened the package. The brush tip is thick so it's difficult to create a 'winged' eye. I have it in the 'charcoal' but it was a very watery grey. Eventually It was time to replace my Lineur Intense but with no time to reach a drug store, I resorted to using the Telescopic. Despite its watery consistency, the colour begins to show up after more than a couple of strokes on the same area of the lid. My one and only favourite thing about the Telescopic is that IT DOES NOT BUDGE. Even my Lineur Intense starts to smudge on me after a few hours! (I use UrbanDecayPP religiously!) *Verdict: Use the Telescopic if you're going for a natural daytime eye VS a bold dramatic cat eye as the Telescopic will not deliver.
