Concealers -New York Color - Cover Stick in Yellow

This concealer is amazing! Completely conceals my undereye circles, which I've never found another product to do so. Very lightweight feel, looks natural, blends very easily, and is actually dirt cheap. I will repurchase forever - why pay more for something when this does the trick? If not applied correctly, it can look dry/cakey - it is a stick, so you do have to let it warm up a little first. I just let it sit on my skin a couple seconds before use, no biggie.
I was hoping for more. Like the other reviewers said, this creases like crazy, even with a base. The color does disappear and leave only shimmer, which is weird. I would not repurchase this again because even though it's my first cream shadow, I'm sure there are much better ones out there!
Not impressed. PROS: -Skin feels smooth -Great moisturizing feeling -Preps face and makes makeup blend more easily -Great package, pump is awesome (still prefer tubes) CONS: -Does nothing to fill in fine lines/pores -Too pricey for an unimpressive product -Doesn't help mattify or control oil -Doesn't make makeup last any longer This is my first department store brand/expensive makeup, and I'm not happy, so probably my last, too. I wouldn't waste your money when you can get a much better result with Hard Candy's Sheer Envy primer!!
I agree with most of the other reviews on this product. I'm skeptical about primers that claim to "minimize pores" and "reduce appearance of fine lines," but to my utter amazement, it kind of does. My makeup hasn't settled into my pores nor my fine lines! Never had that happen before...so I would definitely repurchase this product instead of my Smashbox (which isn't all that great). A little does go a long way, so be frugal when applying. The only CON I have with this product is that the silkiness sort of feels like grease/oil on my oily skin. I'm sure there's something I can do to correct this problem, but I still took away one lippie for it. And I love tubes, so this packaging is a 5!
Nothing great about this product, but nothing bad, either. It does its job - it's sheer, provides some oil control, great for touch-ups, and does a fine job setting the natural look I go for without looking powdery or chalky. Not in love with the compact, but I've had worse. It's sturdy. The only problem is if you don't apply with a light hand, it does tend to be chalky/powdery. Application is key with this finishing powder. Will repurchase unless I find something better in the same price range.
Pressed Powders -Physicians Formula - Mineral Glow Pearls - Beige Pearl 7041
TiffaniePeet 8/12/2010 11:12:00 AM
I hate sparkles and shimmers on my face so when I read all the reviews about this product, I just had to try it out. It's true - this product does give a luminizing effect without sticking glitter and sparkles all over! I love it. I still use a minimum amount of concealer on light red areas, so I'm not sure about the skin perfecting quality. I wouldn't buy this product for that reason, anyway. I really like the packaging. It might be a little bulky for some, but for some reason, I like bulky (maybe because it feels more sturdy?). Overall, decent product. A bit pricey for me since I'm on a tight budget, but would repurchase especially if on sale.
Tinted Moisturizer -Hard Candy - Sheer Envy Tinted Moisturizer spf15
TiffaniePeet 8/12/2010 11:06:00 AM
I have been on a search for a great tinted moisturizer forever. I wanted one that was sheet, yet still provided subtle coverage for the mild redness that sometimes appears on the apples of my cheeks and tip of my chin. This product does it! Finally, something that can provide sheer coverage, look completely natural, and feel absolutely weightless. Since my skin is oily, it is required to use some sort of powder over top (I use Maybelline Mineral Power pressed finishing veil) to help keep the shine down. The packaging is awesome - I absolutely love tubes. And the light tone matches my skin perfectly (seems to be a great neutral shade, and blends effortlessly)! I would have bought fair, but Walmart was out, good thing! Not sure about any greasiness as it has only been an hour since application. Will have to update. Definitely a repurchase for me!
This stuff does the job of a volumizing mascara yet leaves your lashes very soft. I've used this product for years then strayed for CG Lashblast...but had to come back when I couldn't take the clumps anymore! Love this mascara! Will always repurchase.
Garnier is amazing. The Triple Nutrition line is more than anything you could imagine for only $3 ! I have extremely thick, curly, frizzy hair and my hair has never been softer, silkier, or shinier when I used it before dying. In fact, this line is so amazing that i made the decision to dye my hair because this stuff would surely fix it up. I lightened my dark brown hair and now it's really damaged and dry, but this stuff makes it feel great afterward! However, this stuff does not help frizz that well, but that's what other Garnier products are for (ie Garnier Sleek and Shine deep conditioner-EXCELLENT). I LOVE things that come in tubes, so the packaging is a 5 for me. The ONLY reason I gave this a 4 is because it doesn't spread well due to the seeds, but I don't mind. Personally, I like the seeds. If nothing else, they make me think I"m giving my hair a facial, which is always nice. Two thumbs up and will definitely keep repurchasing many times more!
Conditioner -Garnier - Triple Nutrition Conditioner

As one user already stated, Garnier has never let me down, from hair color to face wash, and this product keeps pace with that! The Triple Nutrition line is more than amazing! I have extremely thick, curly, frizzy hair and my hair has never been softer, silkier, or shinier. In fact, this line is so amazing that i made the decision to dye my hair because this stuff would surely fix it up. I lightened my dark brown hair and now it's really damaged and dry, but this stuff makes it feel great afterward! However, like someone else had said, this stuff does not help frizz that well, but that's what other products are for (ie Garnier Sleek and Shine deep conditioner-EXCELLENT). Two thumbs up and will definitely repurchase!
Powder -New York Color - Smooth Skin Pressed Powder

So, I bought this product because of the cheap price yet surprisingly great reviews on here...but I don't see what the rave is about. The translucent powder definitely makes me look very pale and chalky and settles into all my fine lines and pores. Not sure about the oil control since I can't leave the house with it on! Horrible product on me. Will not repurchase. EDIT - Well, after being so unhappy with this after all the great reviews, I decided to give it another chance. I reapplied it a little differently with another powder brush and it worked wonders for my skin! It was very silky...never had a powder that made my face feel like that before. It controlled my oil pretty well for $3. All in all, I'm glad I gave it a second chance - because now I'm raving about it!
Eye Shadow -Cover Girl - Eye Enhancers Quad (all shades)
TiffaniePeet 8/2/2010 1:58:00 PM
I love Covergirl's eye shadows. They are not too pricey, but the price is well worth the color selection. I choose CG eye shadows over high end stuff, especially because all eye shadows are pretty much the same, so why pay more?
Love this stuff! Very sheer; adds just enough color and the shine and luminosity is amazing! The price is good, but being on a tight budget, would love if it was a bit cheaper. Great stuff, though, so I don't mind. I will definitely repurchase in as many colors as possible!
Concealers -Maybelline - Dream Mousse Concealer [DISCONTINUED]
TiffaniePeet 8/2/2010 12:18:00 PM
Excellent product. I only use drugstore products and believe me I"ve tried them all. This is by far the best drugstore concealer I've ever used (and I hate the dream mousse foundation!) This concealer is less heavy, less matte, but provides great coverage. I don't mind the pot it comes in. Kind of cute to me, although you do have to be careful not to get too much product on your fingers. Not much of a problem, though. The only issue I have is with covering undereye circles. I have the lightest shade but will probably need a darker shade to help with those circles. I will certainly buy again.
Liquid -Revlon - ColorStay Active Light Makeup SPF 25 ] [DISCONTINUED]

LOVE it! I've been searching for the perfect tinted moisturizer because I hate the makeup look. This, I know, is not exactly a tinted moisturizer, but it's so light it may as well be. It gives a nice sheer coverage that completely covered up my mild redness and helped out with my undereye circles. This is great stuff and it's pretty cheap! I love the tube, although I know it may be a downfall for most. The only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 is because it wasn't quite as dewy as I'd like it to be, however, I think if I add a little more moisturizer to it, I"ll get just that. :) Definitely worth a try! Oh, and I'm pretty fair skinned, but the buff shade was a really good match as it matches my neck and provides better coverage than the lighter shade. EDIT - I took a lippie off because this stuff has NO STAYING POWER even with primer and setting powder. I took this on vacation and came to find out two-three hours later it was completely gone. Good thing it didn't leave streaks; it just seemed to disappear. Anyway, I probably won't be repurchasing anytime soon.
