Fragrances -Ayala Moriel - Orcas

Invigorating and refreshing - just like sea spray and enjoying a mojito by the beach. Love the rosemary and lime in it - a great pick me up and also has an impressive lasting power for a natural fragrance. It smells great on my husband too.

Fragrances -Serge Lutens - Tubéreuse Criminelle
rated 4 of 5

The opening of this one is original and distinct: like grape jelly and eucalyptus. Medicinal notes that contrast the sticky sweetness of tuberose. But as it dries down, it loses that potency, and becomes more like all the other SL white florals (i.e.: Fleurs d'Oranger, Sarrasins...). Which is why I wouldn't buy it again.

This is my new Happy Hour scent! So cute and playful... And the packaging is adorable! It's also a bonus to know that this is one of the very few perfumes in the world with the Leaping Bunny certification, so no animals were hurt in the process of making it.

Lotions/ Creams -Unlisted Brand - Velvet & Sweet Pea's Tuberose Gardenia Face & Body Wipped Frosting
rated 5 of 5
TheresaDiMoan 6/17/2012 1:48:00 AM

Gardenia, tuberose and coconut - you can't get any better than that... The whipped body frosting has a texture as airy as Marshmallo Fluff (without all the sugar, phew...). I would buy galons of it if that size were available.

Fragrances -Ayala Moriel - Treazon
rated 3 of 5

Not for the faint of heart! Potent tuberose that won't pale next to Tubereuse Criminelle and Fracas. Lots of that grapey medicinal note (the wintergreen?) and lingering vanilla. If you've ever purchased a cut flower and let it stay in the room after dark - this is what I'm getting out of Treazon.

Fragrances -Ayala Moriel - Zangvil
rated 3 of 5

Gourmand, medicinal, comforting, fresh, soft... So many contrasts in one little simple brew of orange juice, candied ginger and beeswax. It turns into a skin scent in the end, which is my favourite part.

Fragrances -Ayala Moriel - Etrog
rated 4 of 5
TheresaDiMoan 6/17/2012 1:37:00 AM

Etrog is the name of Jewish citron, but there is nothing too citrusy about it. Etrog is very sweet, and reminds me more of honey and flowers, cotton candy and has the tiniest wisp of herbs that keeps it from being too sweet. It's called an "Oy de Cologne", but the concentration is more like an EDP. So it's better than most citrus cologne types as far as the lasting power goes...

Fragrances -Serge Lutens - Santal de Mysore
rated 4 of 5
TheresaDiMoan 6/17/2012 1:34:00 AM

Santal de Mysore is swoon-inducing, with the creamiest sandalwood from Mysore and a spicy contrast of what I can only describe as an Indian restaurant. In a good way though :-) My only regret is that it does not last nearly as well as I'd like it to. But than, I'm applying from a tiny sample vial I got online. Perhaps I should just break the bank for the full bottle and spray it lavishly.

Deodorants -Fresh - Roll-on Sugar, Deodorant and Antiperspirant
rated 3 of 5
TheresaDiMoan 6/17/2012 1:31:00 AM

I like the scent of Fresh Sugar. On a hot L.A. day I decided to upgrade my salt rock deodorant (useless!) and picked this one at The Grove. The scent was the same goodness I always liked about Fresh Sugar - sweet, citrusy, and fresh. But it was just about as useless as the salt rock. Next time I'll pass.

Fragrances -Ayala Moriel - New Orleans
rated 3 of 5
TheresaDiMoan 6/17/2012 1:25:00 AM

This perfume makes me happy! It smells exactly like New Orleans in the summer time: magnolias, sweet olives, Meyer lemons and a marshy, damp smell of roots and dirt, and best of all - jazz everywhere. The price is a bit steep, but it has real ambergris in it.

Fragrances -Ayala Moriel - Frangipanni Gloves

Etheral plumeria with underlining animal/leather notes. Light and summery but not the default beach treatment this tropical flower often gets.

Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - Aftelier Parfum Prive
rated 3 of 5
TheresaDiMoan 4/24/2009 1:52:00 AM

This miniature little gem has notes of ambergris, orange blossom, osmanthus, ambrette and I think also a touch of agarwood? Surprisingly, and this is also true for the newer perfume Lumiere, the concentration is lesser than most of the Aftelier line. And it means that both are not as long lasting as others of her "extraits". And like Lumiere, I found this to be not particularly original either - it is either a reflection of Aftelier's other creation, Orchid (with orange blossom, shiso and vanilla) or Razala from Ayala Moriel, which is longer lasting and richer with ambergris and agarwood.

Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - Aftelier Lumiere
rated 3 of 5
TheresaDiMoan 4/21/2009 12:50:00 PM

Not only the name is borrowed (Rochas already has a Lumiere perfume) but also the fragrance. This smells like a copy of Indigo by Ayala Moriel - which I love and also has notes of boronia, caraway and incense. If it wasn't for that I would have thought it to be original and given it 4 or 5 lippies. Also Indigo is way better lasting.

Neither vanille nor galante. More like a waterlily with sweet watery base.

Stunning and spectacular clean and sweet floral. It's not exactly a cherry blossom perfume but it's interesting and different.
