Primer/ Corrector -Smashbox - Photo Finish Light
TheMostCake 3/6/2011 3:58:00 PM
I have tried a lot of different primers and I do occasionally use others because I like to experiment with skincare and makeup, however- Smashbox Photo Finish Light is my favorite primer. It does not feel heavy on my skin. It makes makeup application faster, easier, and smoother. It allows me to use far less foundation than without it. It works well with both powder and liquid foundations. It makes my makeup last and last- very little touching up is neccessary throughout the day. It controls oil- not completely, but it reduces oily breakthrough greatly. I have applied the light primer to one side of my face, and the regular Photo Finish to the other, as an experiment to decide which is better. The results performance wise were identical. However, the regular primer feels heavier and is harder to apply. My vote is for Photo Finish LIGHT.

Lipstick -MAC - Viva Glam Gaga 2

Okay. I admit it. I only bought this because it says Lady Gaga on it. The color is way too light for me (NW20). I knew that when I bought it, but I still had to have it. The texture is very creamy. The color is very pigmented. I will experiment with it more and will probably end up using it to lighten darker colors. All in all I can't be disappointed since I purchased it with my eyes wide open. For anyone with a darker complexion, I think it would be great.

Mascara -Clinique - High Impact Mascara

This is a really good mascara. It adds lots of volume and length. I can add multiple coats without clumping. ALMOST as good as the Lancomes and Diors, but at $14.50 - WAY less expensive. Worth a try.

Misc Beauty Tools -Clarisonic - Pro Skincare Brush

I loved the clarisonic... at first. My skin immediately looked better than ever before. My redness was gone. My pores were clean and almost invisible. My skin was smooth and soft. Then one morning after two weeks of twice a day use, I looked in the mirror and noticed broken capillaries. I got out my magnifying mirror and took a closer look. To my complete horror, my cheeks, nose, and chin were covered in tiny broken blood vessels. I can't prove it was the Clarisonic, but the timing certainly points to it. I beg everyone to start out slowly if you must try the Clarisonic... and pay attention, because broken capillaries are permanent and mine make me VERY sad !
