Lip Gloss -Lancome - Cherry Burst Juicy Tubes
TheLauren 11/7/2011 4:31:00 PM
I love this Juicy Tube! Most of them are way too sheer, and it's basically like putting clear lip gloss on, which for $18 seems ridiculous. This one is nicely pigmented, and you don't need much at all to get good color and coverage; it's bright, but it's still sheer. It is also very moisturizing; I think it does a better job than balm. Finally, when it wears off, it leaves behind a pretty pink stain. That's probably my favorite thing about this gloss, especially since I drink water all day and most glosses wear off in an instant. It gives you all the benefits of a gloss (easy to apply, sheer, moisturizing, shiny, tastes and smells good) while giving the benefits of a lipstick (long-lasting, good pigment). I would definitely repurchase, and I'm a total cheapskate who never thought she'd spend this much on gloss!

Lipstick -Sephora - Maniac Long Wearing Lipstick 01
TheLauren 10/24/2010 4:45:00 PM
I was looking for a bright, babydoll pink lipstick that was highly pigmented but not too dark after seeing a picture of a model on Sephora's website. I found out the lipstick she was wearing was YSL Rouge Volupte in Fetish Pink; however, I wasn't looking to shell out $34 for a tube of lipstick. Mat 01 is a very similar shade and it stays on your lips for a long time. It has a faintly fruity smell but no discernible taste, which I like. Just make sure your lips are moisturized and exfoliated before applying it, as it will accentuate every flaky spot! It's highly pigmented and quite vibrant but you can easily tone it down with balm or gloss.

Treatments -Aussie - 3 Minute Miracle Deeeeep
TheLauren 3/25/2010 2:55:00 PM
This stuff is awesome! I have super-thick, tangle-prone hair and this is an awesome conditioner. I actually use it every day rather than as a weekly deep conditioner. I like the squeeze tube because it's easy to get just the right amount. I use a really tiny amount because it's so thick that you don't need much, meaning that even though it's a fairly small bottle it will last a long time. It has an amazing tropical scent and detangles well, leaving your hair very smooth and soft. I will be using this to replace the much more expensive Paul Mitchell conditioner I had been using.

Eyeliner -L'Oreal - HIP Color Truth Cream Eyeliner in Black
TheLauren 4/23/2009 4:13:00 PM
When I first got this, I loved it. It applied smoothly and darkly and lasted a long time. In fact, it still does those things. But several months after I bought it, an odd thing started happening. I would notice that whenever I would wear this it would flake onto my face. Not just under my eyes, but in random spots all over my face including my cheeks and chin. It's so embarrassing! I actually haven't experienced much dry-out of this, but I also have it in brown and violet and those ones both dried out considerably, though it took maybe 6 months (not only one like some people experienced) for them to do so. Now I'm afraid to wear it because I know I'll have to be checking the mirror constantly for weird black dots on my face.

Polishes -Sally Hansen - Hard As Nails Xtreme Wear in First Blush
TheLauren 7/29/2008 7:53:00 PM
I picked this out after getting a manicure in a similar color and loving it. I didn't want to shell out for the expensive stuff, so I decided to try to find a matching color at Target and this was it. After two coats, this dries to an opaque pale pink which looks very pretty yet professional. I haven't had any problems with it streaking either. I find that it lasts a full week and still looks nice by the end of it. Overall, I really like this nail polish.

Sunscreen -Neutrogena - Age Shield Face SPF 70
TheLauren 6/3/2008 12:43:00 PM
I have been using this product for the past several days, and so far, so good. I used the original Age Shield sunscreen last summer and it was absolutely awful, impossible to put makeup on top of because it peeled of my face in little rolls (as many other users said). But I decided to try this out before finally shelling out for some $30 a tube Anthelios with Mexoryl (which I want to try, but it's only SPF 15 in the States). I think that, although it is somewhat thick, it applies fairly easily and absorbs fine as long as you rub it in. I have no trouble applying makeup over this either. And, because it isn't too ridiculously expensive, I don't mind using a good-sized blob of it on my face, as I should. My only beef with it is that it occasionally leaves a white residue on the sides of my face and I have to rub it in more, but that's probably just user error.

Mascara -Mary Kay - Lash Lengthening
TheLauren 8/3/2007 2:52:00 AM
I used to use MK Flawless mascara and was definitely sad to see it go...that is, until I got my tube of this! True, the Flawless mascara was a bit more natural but I guess I just don't feel the need to have extremely natural-looking lashes anymore. This mascara does not clump, smudge, or, most importantly flake (a problem I had with the supposed best mascara, Diorshow). It makes my lashes appear thicker and much longer and I prefer it to the Ultimate mascara because it is easier to use, thinner (in a good way), and less likely to clump, although my mom uses the Ultimate and it works great for her. I just curl my lashes, apply this mascara, let it dry, then curl again (yes, I know you're not supposed to do that but I have for years with no problems...knock on wood) and reapply with great results.

Lip Gloss -Avon - ultra color rich lip gloss spf 15 perfect rose
TheLauren 8/3/2007 2:40:00 AM
I got this product at the introductory price and although I would probably purchase it again for this price, I doubt I'd pay the full price for it. It is a nice, sheer but not too sheer gloss that has a slight scent (which is a little bit fruity) but no real taste, a must for me. That fact is especially impressive given the fact that this gloss has spf in it, which typically means chemical flavor. I like the brush applicator, although it does tend to dispense a bit too much product for my liking and I have to sort of use my fingers to spread it evenly or just wipe the excess product off before I begin to apply it. When used sparingly, this color is a very nice my lips but pinker and shinier shade. The color is very buildable, so even though it starts out sheer you could apply more to intensify the look. I also like the fact that even though this wears off somewhat quickly (hey, it's gloss), my lips still retain some of the pink pigment and are left feeling moisturized. I prefer this gloss to Glazewear because to me it is more like a gloss--shinier and more sheer. Overall, it's a good gloss that comes in so many colors, I'm sure anyone could find a good one.

Lip Gloss -Victoria's Secret - Beauty Rush Lip Gloss - My Cherry Amour
TheLauren 7/16/2007 6:03:00 PM
To me, Beauty Rush glosses are a little on the thick side, but not in a bad way...it just means they'll last a little longer. When I wear this, I feel like my lips are moisturized, even awhile after it wears off. Despite the name, I don't think it smells like cherries at all, more like chocolate to me, but the best part is that it doesn't taste bad or weird, it's just a bit sweet. On me, this gloss imparts little to no color, it just makes my lips shiny. I wish the color was more like how it looks in the tube, but oh well, I got it for free with my purchase. I wouldn't buy this again as it's basically clear lip gloss and I have enough of that, but I would consider buying this formula again in a different color.

Sunscreen -Neutrogena - Fresh Cooling Body Mist Sunblock SPF 45
TheLauren 7/16/2007 5:44:00 PM
Ugh, what a waste of money! This product has such a heavy fragrance that if you're not outside when you put it on you'll be choking on it. Even outside you can smell it pretty strongly, plus the smell never really goes away. It's not necessarily a bad scent (it's kind of like Febreze, but not as good), it's just SO strong. I wanted to use this product for reapplication since it's very quick; however, it is very difficult to get even coverage from this clear spray since you can't really see it. I also have a feeling that it washes off more easily than other sunblocks. The combination of splotchy application and poor staying power means that this stuff really doesn't work at all. When I used it at a waterpark, I got a splotchy burn even though I was in the shade most of the day. My sister used it on her back at the beach and got the worst burn of her life, complete with blisters.

Sunscreen -Neutrogena - Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunblock SPF45
TheLauren 7/16/2007 5:37:00 PM
I don't know what Neutrogena was thinking with this sunscreen. There is so much fragrance in it that it irritates my skin (which I don't really consider sensitive), making it sting as if I had just put rubbing alcohol all over my face. Not to mention the fact that the scent is so strong it can be overpowering. It also seems to make my face a bit peely (I don't know if that's from dryness or because the sunscreen itself is peeling on my face). This would probably be okay for the body, but I only use this on my face when I need a high SPF. I really think that this would be a decent product had Neutrogena just left out the perfume.

Eyes -Mary Kay - Fig Eyeshadow
TheLauren 7/16/2007 5:31:00 PM
I love this eye color. I use the darker shade wet as an eyeliner and it looks really pretty...I especially like it since I have green eyes and I like the way purple looks with them, but I think the color would work for just about anyone. I haven't used the lighter shade, as I bought this before it was turned into a duet, but MK eyeshadows are very high quality, so I'm sure it's good.

Shampoo -Clairol - Herbal Essences Drama Clean refreshing shampoo
TheLauren 7/16/2007 5:28:00 PM
I got this shampoo because I wanted something that was going to clean my hair without gunking it up at all...I have enough hair products that do that! My hair is somewhat oily and I wash it every day and I haven't noticed that this products strips my hair or makes it dry or anything like that. Since my hair is thick and long and I straighten it, I use this in conjunction with a moisturizing conditioner (Pantene smooth and sleek) which I apply only from the nape of my neck down. Overall, this is a good basic shampoo that smells delicious, the hallmark of all Herbal Essences products.

Conditioner -Clairol - Herbal Essences None of Your Frizziness Conditioner
TheLauren 7/16/2007 5:21:00 PM
I used this product while I was at the beach and I really liked it. I can use a fairly small amount (and my hair is long and very thick), which means it'll last awhile. It smells really good, as most of the new Herbal Essences products do, and it leaves my hair feeling really soft after I rinse it out, and detangles well. I think it actually felt more moisturizing than the Hello Hydration conditioner, and definitely made my hair softer. I didn't really notice whether or not it helped my frizz, as I was wearing my hair up the whole time, but I think I'll be purchasing some of this next time I run out of conditioner.

Conditioner -Clairol - Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Moisturizing Conditioner
TheLauren 7/16/2007 5:16:00 PM
First off, this conditioner smells delicious...I couldn't resist the scent and that's why I bought it. However, it just isn't enough for my long, thick, tangle-prone hair. It doesn't detangle very well, which is an attribute that I need in my conditioner. It also doesn't leave my hair feeling all that soft afterward the way other conditioners do. I ended up buying a different conditioner (L'Oreal Vive Pro Smooth Intense, which I like a lot but doesn't smell nearly as good!) and using this one as a shave cream. Oh well.
