Lip Gloss -Burt's Bees - Super Shiney Natural Lip Gloss
TheGlitterHunter 12/29/2008 8:42:00 PM
For Christmas I recieved a mini gift set with all four shades of Super Shiny l/g. I liked it as a gift, but I'm not sure that I'd repurchase these glosses if I ever ran out. The gloss itself is slick rather than sticky, with a citrus flavor/scent that for some reason reminds me of a creamsicle. It lasts for a little over an hour, which is about average for most decent lip glosses. After the gloss fades, my lips do feel more moisturized and softer than before. According to the Burt's Bees website, the l/g's moisturizing quality is due to its sweet almond oil content. The color selection for this l/g is unremarkable, though, with only four shades available: a sheer nude, a sheer pink, a sheer brownish 'berry', and a sheer red. Don't get me wrong, this isn't a lousy d/s gloss, but it's a bit too pricey for the quality. Super Shiny Lip Gloss comes in a standard slant-tip squeeze tube. The regular-sized tubes are .5 oz, while the tubes in the mini sets are each .3 oz.

Lip Gloss -C.O. Bigelow - Vitamin Mentha Lip Quad
TheGlitterHunter 11/26/2008 6:06:00 PM
Ah, Mentha...I thought I could quit you, but I just came crawling back when I saw this palette. If you're always on the lookout for tinted balms like I am, you're gonna love this. The Vitamin Mentha Lip Quad is a black plastic compact, containing four pans of tinted lip balm, each about the size of a quarter. There's also a nice-sized mirror built into the lid. The compact itself is quite sturdy, and the mirror is a very nice touch--it really comes in handy when you need to re-apply! On to the actual balms. All four have a scent that's similar to candy canes, but not as sugary. Two are shades from the regular line, while the other two are exclusive to the Lip Quad. The shades from the regular line are Glacial Mint (clear and frosty with multicolored sparkles) and Baby Pink Mint (a semi-sheer light pink somewhere between cotton candy and rose). The exclusive shades are called Peachy Mint (a sheer, peachy-tan nude) and Ruby Mint (a semi-sheer, berry-toned red). Like all tinted lip balms, the lasting power isn't the best; I'd say about 45 minutes tops. I'd still repurchase this, though, since it's such a nice set! :)

Polishes -New York Color - Long Wearing Nail Enamel - White Lights Glitter 101A
TheGlitterHunter 11/26/2008 5:41:00 PM
This polish is good on its own or over another color. I've used it as a topcoat over Big Money Frost, or alone as a frosty winter mani. As far as the glitter goes, I can pick out an orangey-gold color, a lilac-blue, and lime green. The application is on the thin side, so you need more than one coat to get the coverage of a more expensive glitter polish. The packaging is pretty cheap...but that's usually the case with NYC make-up. Since the bottle doesn't have any mixer balls in it, so it has to be shaken up regularly to keep the glitter from settling out of the polish. But it only costs a dollar, so it's not much of a problem.

Highlighters -Urban Decay - Heavy Metal Glitter Eye Gel Power Ballad
TheGlitterHunter 11/26/2008 5:10:00 PM
The. Best. Glitter. EVER. I couldn't have asked for a better glitter eye gel. This stays on all day...or all night, if that's when you're wearing it! The best part about this product is how buildable it is. As long as you let it dry between coats, you can layer the gel on your eyelids to make it even more sparkley. One dab on each lid does it for the day time--and still makes a statement. :D The "Power Ballad" shade is a clear base full of light neon green and blue glitter; I don't have any other Heavy Metal gels, but I think they all have clear gel as the base.

Lipstick -Milani - Frosted Pink
TheGlitterHunter 11/12/2008 9:58:00 AM
Milani's "Frosted Pink" l/s is a semi-sheer, cool pink with a silvery-white frost finish. The consistency is creamy, not waxy, but I have had some trouble with it being drying. Luckily this was easily fixed by putting on some lip balm beforehand! The frost is also toned down a bit with balm, so your mouth doesn't look too whitish. Lasting power for this one is about average. I'd repurchase because I really like the color and the low price! :D

Lip Gloss -Bonne Bell - Smackers Snap-Gloss
TheGlitterHunter 10/23/2008 10:42:00 AM
I was totally seduced by the Cotton Candy-Bubblegum duo, since those are two of my favorite flavors. The scent of each gloss was sweet and true--but that's the only good thing I can say for these glosses. You don't expect terrific pigment from Smackers or anything, since it's for young girls...but I don't know why ANYONE would want to give this to a kid! The glitter particles in the glosses were SO gritty that it felt like my lips were actually being cut up. Don't be taken in by the cute factor--these things are pure EVIL!

Eye Shadow -Clinique - Touch Tint for Eyes - Nude Sparkle [DISCONTINUED]
TheGlitterHunter 10/17/2008 8:21:00 PM
This is my all-time favorite eye product! The Touch Tints will last through ANYTHING, so I always use this one as a base for my neutral and cool-toned powder shadows. Nude Sparkle matches pretty well with my skin tone, and the shimmer particles give it a nice sheen that goes with any look. It's been a staple in my make-up bag since I got my first tube.

Palettes -Stila - Scarlett's Deluxe Palette
TheGlitterHunter 10/16/2008 11:00:00 AM
Scarlett's is the more cool-toned choice of the two Deluxe Palettes Stila offered during the 2007 holiday season. The contents are three eyeshadows, a blush, a lip gloss, and a lip brush. The two pink shadows are fairly sheer unless you use them wet; when you apply them dry, it's hard to tell the difference. I usually blend them together on my lids to make a nice rosey-pink shade. The liner, on the hand, has a good amount of pigment, and I just LOVE the color. It's a bluish-grey with a purpley undertone, and just looks PERFECT! You can get an even more intense shade if you use it wet, and it's great on its own too. The blush is a fairly bright pink balanced out with mauvey tones, and also has a lot of silver sparkles mixed in. I really wish you could buy this one separately; it adds the nicest, shimmery glow to my cheeks. The lip gloss is nothing special, though I did notice that it's more creamy than sticky, unlike the Lip Glazes. There isn't much color in it, but it's quite good for layering over lipstick IMO. I'm really in love with the packaging for this one. It's the perfect mix of class and youthfulness, with the crystals being a very elegant touch. The mirror inside is useful and easy to clean, and I've had no problems with gunk from the gloss getting stuck to it. The lip brush is also of a very good quality. It works great for either gloss or lipstick. It's really too bad this palette was LE; I'd buy it again in a heartbeat!

Polishes -Revlon - Glimmer Gloss in Strawberry Sizzle
TheGlitterHunter 10/14/2008 10:45:00 AM
I'm a sucker for glittery things, so I HAD to have this polish. The color is sheer but buildable; I agree with the previous reviews saying that 4 coats will give you the best result. The downside is that the glitter/shimmer is less noticable when the color is more saturated, though considering this is a bright color, it's not really a problem. I also prefer the more simplified bottles the Glimmer Glosses come in to the regular Revlon polish bottles. Without a topcoat, this lasted about 5 days on my nails before the tip wear started to bug me. It only chipped once during that time, which is pretty good in my opinion. :)

Tinted Moisturizer -Physicians Formula - Organic Wear - Ivory to Fair
TheGlitterHunter 9/2/2008 7:04:00 PM
I've had trouble with foundations being too heavy or breaking me out, so I decided to give this TM a whirl. It's on the thin side and sometimes runny; this hasn't given me any problems, though. The color isn't an exact match, but the product's sheer enough that it blends into my skin very nicely. To top it off, the 'M' part moisturizes my skin just the right amount! I'm thinking that the fact it's organic might be beneficial to sensitive skin like mine. I'll definitely repurchase! EDIT: Knocking the rating for this down to 2; the tip broke off the bottle, which pretty much made it unusable. And it made my face get oily... *sigh*

Eye Shadow -Revlon - Scene Stealer Eye Shadow in Molten Bronze LE
TheGlitterHunter 11/25/2007 6:21:00 PM
Found this on clearance in CVS a while back, and I really wish it wasn't an LE item! The color is a deep, metallic brown-bronze with a slightly reddish undertone and a bit of gold shimmer. I use it as a liner and a crease color, but it also works on the entire eyelid if you sheer it out. The shadow's texture is soft, and it blends well with other good-quality eyeshadows.

Lip Gloss -Bath and Body Works - Twisted Peppermint-Totally Tasty tinted Lip Gloss
TheGlitterHunter 11/22/2007 6:48:00 PM
Mmmm, I'm just loving the Twisted Peppermint products! This lip gloss is cute and works very well: it leaves a sheer, shimmery, pinky-red tint on your lips. It smells very nice and has a light taste. Also has a squeeze tube application with a slanted tip, and swirled layers of pink, red, and white. I'm definitely picking more of these up!

Lip Gloss -L'Oreal - Colour Juice in Berry Shuffle LE
TheGlitterHunter 6/23/2006 8:45:00 PM
This was one of the LE glosses from the Color Remixed collection. The tube has cute lttle musical notes and a clear cap. The gloss itself is a sheer pinky-berry with subtle blue and orange glitter; very dewy and MLBB. I really like the glistening effect the glitter adds. One lippie off because the lasting power is only so-so, even though the color stays on your lips for a while. I would repurchase.

Eye Shadow -Clinique - Touch Tint - Gold Glimmer
TheGlitterHunter 6/23/2006 8:33:00 PM
Wow, this stuff lasts FOREVER! I wore it on a hot day for strawberry picking, and even though my face was all sweaty the shadow didn't budge. It's a gorgeous color as well; a sheer, true gold chock full of golden sparkles. I have the small-sized tube from the Tiny Treats set.

Eye Shadow -Clinique - Color Surge in Sugar Sugar
TheGlitterHunter 6/10/2006 10:01:00 AM
This shade comes in a lot of the GWPs that Clinique gives out, so you'll probably be able to try it before you buy it. This is a fantastic highlighter for the browbone and inner corners. It also lasts all day, even though it's semi-sheer! A great find, and I'll buy it again if I can't find a cheaper verison in the drugstore.
