Someone said: "DONT BUY IT", that this gave her a reaction in which the skin around her face started to get inflamed. I tried it and know many people who also use and like it so when a product has such reactions, don't assume it's not a good product, your skin probably didn't agree with it or maybe you used some other ingredient from another product with it that didn't go well together. I'm not in love with it but it's a good product that does what it's supposed to, I mean, it's just my personal opinion.

Fragrances -Thierry Mugler - Angel Garden of Stars Peony Eau de Parfum
rated 1 of 5

Got this as a small sample and I have to say I'm soooo disappointed, this smells like old lady's perfume, like from 100 years ago. It's so overwhelming and nasty smelling. From the Garden of Stars Collection the only one I like is Lilly, the Violet is powdery and so strong and the Peony, see above. Blagh!

Love this perfume and love the bottle. I bought this along with the body lotion and oh my, nothing like I ever smelled before. This is a keeper. I also love Alien and own them both. Wanna try the Angel Garden of Stars collection!

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Retin A
rated 4 of 5
Thata 7/6/2010 4:50:00 PM

I started using Retin A on May 28 so this is my experience so far (PLEASE NOTE: prior to using Retin A I was using Peter Thomas Roth Retinol PM Fusion and I think it helped me build up some tolerance to Retin A. I did not feel any burning, stinging, horrible peeling, etc (yet!!!) Week 1 - 3 - used Retin A every other night and if Imy skin felt too dry, I'd skip one more night and only moisturize. My skin looked amazing, the nasty break outs stopped, my pores looked smaller/tighter and my skin oiliness/dryness is controlled. A little flaking only around the nostrils and around mouth, but nothing even noticeable. I'm loving it!!! Week 4 - 5 - Started using Retin A every night. Bad break out with about 6 pimples, 3 of them being the cystic ones that no matter what you do, won't go away until it wants to go away. I didn't pop any of them (though I was highly tempted to do so) and continued using the product. The biggest one is slowly fading and so are the others but I still have red marks where they used to be. A little more flaking around my nostrils but nothing bad. I feel there's a bunch of other pimples ready to come out but I'm not touching them or freaking out. Will continue to use Retin A as recommended by my derm. UPDATE Week 6-8 - That last bad acne break out from weeks 4 and 5 is almost gone, a few red scars from the hard to kill pimples. I started using Alpha/Beta hydroxy acid night cream every other night; as per some research it is recommended that one uses aha/bha a few times a week to help with t breakout Retin A causes. So far so good, my skin is NOT 100% clear and peachy but it's by far the best it's been in a while. And besides, I need to wait at least 6 - 8 months to start seeing the full results of Retin A. PS: My derm just prescribed me a couple more tubes and said my skin was looking very good. Will keep updating!

Treatments -Peter Thomas Roth - AHA/BHA Acne Clearing Gel
rated 4 of 5
Thata 4/28/2010 10:19:00 PM

I started using this because my pores have been really clogged up and I was having acne bumps all over but I also developed dry skin (used to be combination/oily) and I wanted to refine my skin and treat my acne bouts. Looking up AHA/BHA acids I came across this guy. My skin is clearer, my pores look much smaller and when a pimple appears, it clears up quickly. I really like it, doesn't burn or sting although the very first time I put on it felt funny but not uncomfortable that I had to wash off. So far so good. This is actually the only non-natural or organic product I use. For some reason I've tried Neutrogena, Olay,Garnier Nutrisse and my skin didn't like it them at all so I changed up to natural/organic prods. Anyway, I will use my PTR bottle up and maybe repurchase.

Treatments -John Masters - vitamin C anti-aging face serum
rated 4 of 5
Thata 4/25/2010 4:01:00 AM

I bought this serum that's supposed to be for dry/mature skin. I've always had super oily skin but now that I just turned 30 my skin have been acting really weird, super dry day and night with acne here and there. Anyhow, bought this coz I'm into natural/organic products and can't seem to get along with regular/chemical products and I have to say I really like it. This is how my skincare routine looks like: AM Wash face with Desert Essence Thoroughly Clean or Philosophy simple (can't quite remember the name but it's a yellow-ish creamy cleanser) With face still damp I put on the Vit C serum from John Masters After about 15 minutes I put whatever sunscreen I have handy (been using Korres watermelon spf 30 - horrible); just bought Jurlique spf 30 lotion and haven't used it yet but I'm gonna use it on top of Caudalie Vinosource and see how it goes (bought Caudalie and Jurlique this afternoon) PM Wash face with either Philosophy or Desert Essence Damp skin, vit C from JM Caudalie Vinosource for dry skin I also, sometimes, put some AHA/BHA Peter Thomas Roth Acne treatment because it keeps my large pores and acne under control, but since it's very drying I only use two or three nights a week, right after the serum. I am still in the midst of finding my HG skin care products, recently purchased Avalon CoQ10 night cream (not moisturizing enough), Aubrey Organics Lumessence night cream (good, used to be great until my skin dried out), Korres Watermelon cream spf 30 (horrible, thick and pasty, sits on top of my skin all day leaving my face sticky for hours and not hydrating at all), Korres Yogurt Cream for Oily and dehydrated skin (first night I used i woke up in the middle of the night with my face super dry and tight thank goodness for Sephora to let me return it.) As you can see, my skin is pretty finicky right now, dry, sensitive with some bouts of acne. I'm hoping the Caudalie Vinosource cream works out as I still don't have a nice and moisturizing cream for the night (or for the day for that matter. Any suggestions please e-mail me at thazinha30@hotmail.com

Moisturizers -Aubrey Organics - Vegecell Nighttime Hydrator with Green Tea
rated 5 of 5
Thata 4/1/2010 12:28:00 AM

I love this nighttime moisturizer, have bought it twice and after trying so many different products with no good results, am going back to Vegecell. I have combination skin and this cream did not break me out and I loooove the texture (although apparently everyone else seems to hate it) I feel like this really protects my skin and in the morning my face is nice and smooth. I also love Aubrey organics Lumessence cream, which I've been using for quite a while now. No chemicals, no nasty synthetics. They smell kinda funky but it doesn't bother me at all, knowing that I'm doing so well for my skin. Will definitely purchase again.

Treatments -Jason Natural Cosmetics - Oil Free Gel AHA 12 1/2
rated 5 of 5
Thata 3/30/2010 4:56:00 PM

After looking for AHA products online, I came across this Jason oil-free moisturizer on the MUA website and since it had so many great reviews, I decided to give it a try. I have been using it for about 5 days and I am surprised at how such a light, oil-free gel could be so beneficial to my skin. I usually break out very easily if my skin doesn't like certain products (usually the chemical ones with strong smells) but this one has kept my skin in check, I have not broken out, my skin feels great in the morning and I'm hoping to see more improvements after I've used it for a while. The only thing is that I can't use this solely as a moisturizer so I wash my face (night and day), pat it dry, apply the Jason AHA and let it dry. Then, after it's no longer sticky and it's nicely dried, I apply a moisturizer. So far, I'm very happy with this product... even my pores are smaller (and I have ginormous pores on my cheeks.) I already ordered another bottle from Vitacost and will leave another review to tell you how my skin looks after a few weeks.

Toners -Earth Science - Active Age Defense Nutrient Toning Elixir
rated 2 of 5
Thata 3/27/2010 11:42:00 AM

I bought this product at whole foods because I read all the great benefits it provides, but after using it twice, I came to a conclusion that I wasted my money, and the worst part is that I threw away the packaging and the receipt, meaning I'm stuck with this toner forever. I have big, scary pores on my cheeks and after I applied this elixir, my pores seemed to pop-out of my cheeks even more, my skin felt thick and not smooth and calmed. I also bought the cellagen beta-ginseng serum and after using both my pores appeared blacker, bigger and my skin extremely rough, I didn't even have to touch it to see that it really was so much thicker. I've used other products from earth-science and some of them seem to work well and do great things fro my skin but this guy blew me off and I would not purchase it again.
